Hello my name is Ries van Twisk. I am born and raised in North-Holland (Noord Holland) in a little town called Opens external link in new windowSchagen. After living in Opens external link in new windowSchagen for about 24 years I decided to move to a bigger town about 20Km from Schagen called Opens external link in new windowAlkmaar. Still not settled I though it might be a good idea to buy a house in a small village called Opens external link in new windowJulianadorp. This turned out a not so smart decision because little less then 3 years later I decided to make the big turn in live and go living in Opens external link in new windowQuito, Ecuador. I have the best reason for this because I am living there together with the love of my life, my girlfriend and my wife Karina now we are married!

Blog!

I started blogging for myself, but did setup a system for everybody whoes last name is 'van twisk'. You can find my own blog here on which I talk about my live, my java and TYPO3 experiances. At this date (4th of dec) it's not finnished yet and working on setting up the overall system. Will run tomcat6 or JBoss with the excellent blog system called roller. The main van Twisk site kan be found here, and also is under development.

My Current Occupation

I am currently working as a fulltime freelance TYPO3 developer for an automative company and occasionally I take up some small projects whenever I see the work is fun or interesting. Whenever I have time I can be found on the channel #typo3 where I help people, or people help me with TYPO3 questions. TYPO3 is an open source CMS there website can be found here Opens external link in new windowtypo3. I am an TYPO3 consultant in my free time (read below) and of course also this website is created in TYPO3.

About this site

This site is mainly my playground for experiments with TYPO3. Trying new extensions, different items with RealUrl, text items etc etc. I know google does not like it that much and does not give me any page rank at all (I do change URl's to..) but well... I do plan to start blogging here and get a good photo album working here as well... Recently I added a page about my freelance work on TYPO3.
