yeah. if IE is a 5 year old girl, and FF is a hot supermodel that cooks and cleans, then opera is my fussy grandmother. |
| 00:01 |
pulponair |
gerads: nice sample |
| 00:01 |
pulponair |
i would prefere ff :) |
| 00:02 |
pulponair |
anyway i was able to fix an opera bug ...thank you for pointing me to the right direction |
| 00:02 |
gerards |
np. |
| 00:03 |
pulponair |
gerards: : i fear trying ie7 |
| 00:03 |
gerards |
no choice. |
| 00:03 |
gerards |
its the future. |
| 00:04 |
gerards |
unless you go flash. |
| 00:04 |
gerards |
why don't you write a flash tv? |
| 00:04 |
gerards |
i think its SOOO MUUUCH EAASIIIER |
| 00:05 |
gerards |
just the tv page module. not the other parts. |
| 00:05 |
pulponair |
ie7 doesnt work at all hahaha |
| 00:05 |
pulponair |
i mean it is drag able but is destroys all CES on drop |
| 00:05 |
gerards |
heeheeee.... is IE7 developer friendly? |
| 00:06 |
pulponair |
gerards: do you know of any js error console or something? |
| 00:07 |
gerards |
nope i don't have IE 7 installed. |
| 00:07 |
pulponair |
i just got a "standalone version |
| 00:36 |
pulponair |
gerards: guess what? ie7 doesnt know getAttribute("class") it is getAttribute("className") :) |
| 00:36 |
gerards |
i'm sure prototype has an abstraction for that. |
| 00:37 |
gerards |
i'm sure you can find a function in prototype that gets you the class name withtout worrying if its IE or FF. |
| 00:42 |
Ries |
gerards: isn't that standard DOM? |
| 00:47 |
Ries |
pulponair: isn't classname not standard? |
| 00:49 |
pulponair |
Ries: hmmm as attribute it seems so but is tried to access it via getattribute |
| 00:49 |
Ries |
wit getAttribute tehre might be a difference indeed.... |
| 00:52 |
pulponair |
Ries: yes there is and since i am not that much into JS i tried getAttribute |
| 00:52 |
pulponair |
gerards: it is ie7 stable now :) |
| 00:56 |
Ries |
ie and stable sounds contradictionary |
| 00:58 |
pulponair |
Ries: right, i meant: it works in ie7 :) so it is more ie7-bug-bullet-proof |
| 01:15 |
pulponair |
ok dudes i gotta go to bed ...cu |

good morning uschi, Jigal |
| 06:09 |
uschi |
dear folks, i do have a question about sysextensions and local extensions |
| 06:10 |
uschi |
i tried to install rtehtmlarea locally by simply copying the rtehtmlarea directory from typo3/sysext to typo3conf/ext |
| 06:10 |
uschi |
unfortunately it throws a fatal error now, when i try to set links |
| 06:11 |
uschi |
is there a proper way to install a sysext locally? |
| 06:11 |
Jigal |
uschi: htmlarea is also available as download in TER, isn't it? |
| 06:11 |
uschi |
not in the newest version you have to use with 4.1.1 |
| 06:18 |
dax77 |
uschi: hi. first you have to uninstall the sysext, than you can install the ext locally |
| 06:19 |
uschi |
ok :)) |
| 06:19 |
dax77 |
hi tobi, jigal, |Awillys|, elbart, Miriam, just2b_ :) |
| 06:19 |
just2b_ |
hi dax ;) |
| 06:19 |
Jigal |
maybe first download the sysext version from the EM? |
| 06:19 |
elbart |
good morning |
| 06:19 |
just2b_ |
ups i don't see any users |
| 06:20 |
uschi |
how can i do that, Jigal |
| 06:20 |
elbart |
wb just2b |
| 06:20 |
tobi |
good morning dax77 |
| 06:20 |
just2b_ |
thx elbart |
| 06:21 |
Jigal |
uschi: in the EM, loaded extensions page there is a column DL with floppy disk (remember those things from the past?) icons; those allow to download an installed extension... |
| 06:22 |
uschi |
hm, you mean, then i have a proper t3x-file? |
| 06:23 |
Jigal |
uschi: but you can also click on the extension name to go to the details page and select in the dropdown box in the upper righthad corner "Backup/Delete", there you can also download a t3x file ;-P |
| 06:24 |
uschi |
i seem to be blind, Jigal |
| 06:24 |
Jigal |
I always use that to transport extensions I modified or developed to production servers |
| 06:27 |
Jigal |

| 06:45 |
Jigal |
zatmania: kewl! exactly what I needed (yesterday) ;-) |
| 06:50 |
zatmania |
Jigal : next time, just ask me :D |
| 06:57 |
Jigal |
zatmania: I think you were in a meeting yesterday, when I asked about caching here :-( |
| 06:59 |
Jigal |
hi af_ |
| 07:00 |
af_ |
hi |
| 07:01 |
zatmania |
Jigal : you're right a boring meeting with my second chief :( |
| 07:02 |
Phlogiston_ |
Whats the best way to change values in TCA? |
| 07:04 |
Jigal |
Phlogiston_: either with an editor of your choice or with the Edit files option in the Extension Manager, I guess. |
| 07:06 |
Phlogiston_ |
hmm ok so then my question was not exact enough: I want to change the size of the cols used in an input form. This value is fetched with $TCA["config"]["cols"]. I want to change these values |
| 07:08 |
zatmania |
edit tca.php file in your ext |
| 07:08 |
Jigal |
Phlogiston_: these values are defined in t3conf/ext/<extension>/$tca.php... |
| 07:08 |
Phlogiston_ |
hmm ok and then these values are changed globally? |
| 07:09 |
Phlogiston_ |
and its correct that here these values are "applied"? t3lib_extMgm::addTCAcolumns("fe_users",$tempColumns,1); |
| 07:11 |
Jigal |
Phlogiston_: I assumed it was a locally installed extension, so I referred to that path. So for a globally installed extension use the appropriate path and edit tca.php there... |
| 07:11 |
Phlogiston_ |
ok |
| 07:12 |
Jigal |
Phlogiston_: the call to addTCAcolumns does indeed add information to the $TCA array. |
| 07:13 |
Phlogiston_ |
Jigal: thanks... now I even know what TCA is :) |
| 07:13 |
Jigal |
Phlogiston_: I would empty the cache in typo3conf and all other caches I could find after modifying a file of an extension... |
| 07:14 |
Jigal |
Phlogiston_: there's some documentation at http://typo3.org/documentation/document-library/core-documentation/doc_core_api/4.0.0/view/4/1/ |
| 07:15 |
Phlogiston_ |
Jigal: Yes I know but I haven't found time to read it calmly |
| 07:16 |
Jigal |
Phlogiston_: and http://typo3.org/documentation/document-library/core-documentation/doc_core_inside/4.0.0/view/3/1/#id3611436 tells a bit about the initialization process in TYPO3; tells you when $TCA is loaded and stuff |
| 07:17 |
Phlogiston_ |
by the way I want to change options in TCA from the fe_users part. But where can I find that fe users TCA stuff? I can't find fe_users or something under sysext... |
| 07:17 |
MarwolTuk |
morning |
| 07:18 |
Jigal |
Phlogiston_: probably in t3lib/stddb/tables.php then :-) |
| 07:19 |
Jigal |
Phlogiston_: see under "What is $TCA?" in the first doc I refered to ;-P |
| 07:19 |
Phlogiston_ |
Jigal: but is it a good idea to change there? |
| 07:19 |
Jigal |
Phlogiston_: the fe_users is not listed there... is it a sysext? |
| 07:20 |
Phlogiston_ |
No idea, I would prefer to change the things in the ext... so I'm looking for something liek updatetTCAcolums... |
| 07:22 |
Jigal |
Phlogiston_: you can modify it from your extension: http://phpfi.com/226357 |
| 07:23 |
Phlogiston_ |
ah ok, just with the same code... thanks :) |
| 07:23 |
Jigal |
Phlogiston_: this example adds columns to fe_users |
| 07:23 |
bauschan |
hi @ all ! |
| 07:23 |
Phlogiston_ |
yes... I want to change some of existing, I hope this works |
| 07:26 |
koomi |
moin |
| 07:29 |
Phlogiston_ |
Is there a convenient way to look up the exisiting values in the TCA? |
| 07:31 |
Jigal |
Phlogiston_: it's worth taking a look at the t3lib_extmgm.php source; adding columns uses array_merge() which overwrites non-numerical keys in an array. so it will probably work... |
| 07:32 |
Jigal |
Phlogiston_: t3lib_div::loadTCA(<tablename>) and look in the array... |
| 07:32 |
koomi |

koomi |
MofoFrance: why not use an extension that provides a form and validation like frontend user registration? |
| 07:50 |
zatmania |
koomi : for a simple form, do it in TS, it will be light than use a ext |

aho: config.doctypeSwitch = 1 to fix the xml header for IE - you can get rid of it too I believe if you dont want it all. And For images; let me know if you figure out a way to get rid of the divs surrounding the image.. I've given up |
| 08:46 |
aho |
page.config.xmlprologue = none |
| 08:46 |
aho |
that thing worked fine for me |

beev0r |
basedir(__FILE__); ;) |
| 10:03 |
fummeltrine |
i would like to have some t3-call i can give fileadmin/foo.bar and it adds the rest itself |

koomi |
just wondering: why wouldn't relative paths not work? |

fummeltrine |
file_exists($GLOBALS['HTTP_SERVER_VARS']['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].'/fileadmin/img/products/'.$row['itemnr'].'.jpg') |

this is ok but ugly ^^ |
| 10:12 |
fummeltrine |
koomi, because file_exists need full path from / |

Dead stright lines on the calibrator, as you can adjust 6 colours on the screen itself, so no need for software colour table alterations. |

girls(s) |

Ries could you help me ? |
| 12:28 |
zatmania |
i try to developp an ext for tt_news to count how many times a news is read |
| 12:29 |
zatmania |
some help me a little |
| 12:29 |
zatmania |
and the big problem is the cache |
| 12:29 |
zatmania |
i use the hook of ttnews |
| 12:29 |
zatmania |
create my markers but after that ..... |
| 12:31 |
Ries |
why cerate markers? |
| 12:32 |
Ries |
when noot hook it, and then count it? |
| 12:32 |
Ries |
or are the markers just for showing the number of counts? |
| 12:32 |
zatmania |
yes |
| 12:32 |
zatmania |
and call a user_int because user_int don't be cached |
| 12:33 |
zatmania |
a friend tell me to do this |
| 12:33 |
Ries |
correct, |
| 12:33 |
Ries |
is tt_news also a user_int object? |
| 12:34 |
zatmania |
euh i think so, i verify |
| 12:36 |
zatmania |
ttnews is USER object |
| 12:43 |
freedom |
Thanks for your help fummeltrine but I had to use class t3lib_TStemplate |
| 12:44 |
freedom |
to reach the TypoScript Setup code in BE programming |

Denyerec |
pulp how reliable is the TV drag and drop now? |
| 12:44 |
Denyerec |
I notice you made an update |
| 12:45 |
Ries |
zatmania: then you need to change it to a user_int object I think |
| 13:01 |
zatmania |
Ries : not a good method, if i tarnsform tt_news in user_int, the cache will not be available |
| 13:24 |
|Affe| |
does anybody know how I can restrict the max. length a message can be in the extension cwt_community? |

hiho |
| 13:41 |
m4rtijn |
re |
| 13:44 |
Ries |
zatmania: I know it's not a good method, but how would you like to count the number of views? |
| 13:45 |
Ries |
UNLESS you create a extension that is a userint and sits on the same page and caches teh tt_news get params and does the counting on it's own |
| 13:45 |
Ries |
But then you don't need hooks in tt_news ofcourse (but for display perpose?) |
| 13:47 |
zatmania |
i must say i'm lost in this ext i tyr do developp |
| 13:48 |
zatmania |
another method is to put extra params in details link but i need to modify tt_news :( |
| 13:48 |
zatmania |
or simply disable cache for ttnews |
| 13:48 |
zatmania |
what do you think about that ? |
| 13:48 |
Ries |
I think you are right not to change tt_news to mach |
| 13:49 |
Ries |
I would create a 'buddy' extension that just monitors the get params of tt_news |
| 13:49 |
Ries |
then that extension is USER_INT to make sure it's always called |
| 13:49 |
zatmania |
when i put some debug in my code i see it so i thnik it's call but call from cache :( |
| 13:50 |
zatmania |
i paste you the code |
| 13:51 |
zatmania |
if you have time to look for |
| 13:51 |
zatmania |
http://hashbin.com/344.html |
| 13:53 |
Ries |
I don't think it can be called from cache.... |
| 13:53 |
Ries |
can you verify that? |
| 13:53 |
zatmania |
yes when i set counter at 0 for all latest |
| 13:54 |
zatmania |
count seems ok |
| 13:54 |
zatmania |
but when i look to this news in single mode, see the old count value, not the database one |
| 13:55 |
delmonico |
anyone knows a good place to get xt commerce? need to evaluate it (damn, its gpl software why do I need to ask such questions...) |

delmonico: I think it has been added to TER recently |
| 13:55 |
Ries |
also GPL doesn't mean it has to be put public ;) |
| 13:56 |
delmonico |
Ries: isnt the one in the ter that typo3-integration extension? I need the vanilla one ;) |
| 13:57 |
Ries |
delmonico: http://typo3.org/extensions/repository/view/commerce/0.9.0/ |
| 13:58 |
Ries |
I think that is pretty much vanilla? |
| 13:58 |
zatmania |
lol |
| 13:58 |
delmonico |
nope I've seen it on a video tutorial and it looks like a (still very buggy) port to typo3 |
| 13:58 |
zatmania |
so must go |
| 13:58 |
zatmania |
Ries : tx |

not even sure if its a port from xt commerce or just shares the name :) |
| 14:04 |
Ries |
delmonico: But commerce is written around typo3... it's not a port in any way |
| 14:04 |
Ries |
it happens to share the name I think |
| 14:04 |
Ries |
I tried commerce myself... I don't think it's a port, it seems to be written from scratch |
| 14:05 |
delmonico |
thought so :) ok the video is a little older so I will evaluate it |
| 14:06 |
delmonico |
don't need tight integration though, features and stability are more important |

| 14:19 |
Phlogiston_ |
isn't firefox == mozilla? |
| 14:19 |
gerards |
just throwing out suggeestions. since it looks good to me. |
| 14:20 |
gerards |
i suggest you check ts object browser. see if the "condition checkboxes" are available. |
| 14:20 |
Phlogiston_ |
hmm with IE it works.... |
| 14:20 |
gerards |
maybe firefox 2 is not longer calling itself mozilla? |
| 14:21 |
gerards |
oh |
| 14:21 |
gerards |
Phlogiston_: there is not mozilla |
| 14:21 |
Phlogiston_ |
so what is mozilla calling himself? |
| 14:21 |
gerards |
there is only netscape |
| 14:21 |
Phlogiston_ |
ah no? |
| 14:21 |
Phlogiston_ |
ah sorry |
| 14:21 |
Phlogiston_ |
yes |
| 14:21 |
Phlogiston_ |
my fault |
| 14:21 |
gerards |
;) |
| 14:21 |
Phlogiston_ |
i was even looking in TS but too stupid |
| 14:21 |
Phlogiston_ |
what version of netscape was the one usable? so i could set a version on that one too |
| 14:21 |
jdash |
hmmm...I just went through the whole config...and couldn't find anything...only thing I saw was the settings for "tidy" is that it? |
| 14:21 |
gerards |
happens to the best of us. |
| 14:22 |
Phlogiston_ |
(btw, now it works :)) |
| 14:22 |
gerards |
"what version of netscape was the one usable?" i don't follow Phlogiston_ |
| 14:22 |
Ries |
one more reason why vista sucks : http://www.trnicely.net/misc/vista.html |
| 14:25 |
Phlogiston_ |
i mean older netscapes suck ... which was the first one support at least css correctly |
| 14:25 |
Phlogiston_ |
gerards: |
| 14:25 |
Phlogiston_ |
Ries: I don't use windows at all |
| 14:25 |
Ries |
Phlogiston_: I stopped using windows 1 year ago |
| 14:25 |
Phlogiston_ |
Ries: 5years of linux now |
| 14:26 |
gerards |
Phlogiston_: :D i get it. try v4. most v4 browsers (IE and moz) are have basic css stuff. |
| 14:26 |
Phlogiston_ |
hehe ok :-D |
| 14:28 |
jdash |
is it the Tidy HTML options or is there another option to select? |
| 14:29 |
Ries |
jdash: if you want to remove comments added by typo3 in the generated html source, then look in the config section of TSref, not in the install tool |
| 14:29 |
jdash |
oh, okay...thanks...I thought that's what I was told earlier |
| 14:30 |
bauschan |
any way to integrate rte in a BE module? |
| 14:31 |
bauschan |
without faking a page obj or stuff like that |
| 14:31 |
Ries |
jdash: I think you need config.disablePrefixComment = 1 |
| 14:32 |
Ries |
jdash: andreasbalzer wanted to show you tidy, but I wouldn't recommend using tidy..... |
| 14:32 |
gerards |
bauschan: can you not just add in the javascript needed? |
| 14:32 |
smux` |
re. tt_news and templavoila require their "general stockage pid", so which is the solution if i want both work ? |
| 14:32 |
gerards |
bauschan: just look at the source code of any content element with RTE, and mimic that for you BE module. RTE is basically a <textarea> plus some javascript. |
| 14:33 |
andreasbalzer |
no, i wanted to switch of debug output |
| 14:33 |
andreasbalzer |
there's a T3 debug output option in install tool |
| 14:34 |
Ries |
andreasbalzer: I think this was his question : (09:15:49) jdash: is it possible to strip out all the extra HTML comments and such that Typo3 leaves in rendered html? |
| 14:34 |
bauschan |
gerards: right, but the rte basically uses page and user ts for config |
| 14:35 |
bauschan |
so it would not render in a easy manner |
| 14:35 |
andreasbalzer |
ries: yeah. usually these "extra HTML comments" are generated through setting a debug value to 1 |
| 14:36 |
gerards |
bauschan: do your BE module needs to take those config options to render the RTE? |
| 14:36 |
gerards |
bauschan: SO your BE module needs to take those config options to render the RTE? |
| 14:37 |
jdash |
andreasbalzer...what option are you talking about in the install tool...didn't see it |
| 14:37 |
Denyerec |
Fairly urgent request... |
| 14:37 |
Denyerec |
what's the easiest way to disable a site with a reasnoble pagetree, in such a way that if a visitor arrives, they see a "Coming soon..." page ? |
| 14:37 |
Denyerec |
In the least dangerous manner |
| 14:37 |
beev0r |
how do i change the layout of filelinks without using an extension? |
| 14:37 |
gerards |
Denyerec: .htaccess |
| 14:38 |
Denyerec |
make a new template with no content bindings in? |
| 14:38 |
beev0r |
i found "filelink" in the tsref. but i dont know how to use it |
| 14:38 |
gerards |
Denyerec: rewrite everything to temp.html |
| 14:38 |
andreasbalzer |
jdash: [FE][debug] has to be 0 |
| 14:38 |
Denyerec |
do you know what I'd have to put in to do that on www.domain.com ? |
| 14:38 |
Ries |
jdash: can you paste an example of such comment? |
| 14:38 |
Denyerec |
as I am a total .htaccess noob |
| 14:39 |
jdash |
Ries, your suggestion fixed the problem |
| 14:39 |
jdash |
Debug is set to 0 |
| 14:39 |
Ries |
Denyerec: put a first page above your root page with a simple template will work |
| 14:39 |
Ries |
jdash: this option ? config.disablePrefixComment = 1 |
| 14:39 |
jdash |
Yes, Ries |
| 14:39 |
Denyerec |
will I have to set the rootpage in the TS Setup to that # ? |
| 14:39 |
gerards |
Denyerec: RewriteRule .* under_construction.html |
| 14:40 |
bauschan |
gerards: I'm not sure, cause I only want to display a single rte field |
| 14:40 |
Ries |
yeaa I thought so already you did need that option |
| 14:40 |
bauschan |
not a complete tce form |
| 14:40 |
Ries |
Denyerec: Just create a simple template there |
| 14:40 |
jdash |
Denyerec, just put an index.html file in your root webservers will generally pull that before index.php |
| 14:40 |
Denyerec |
Lots of ideas :D |
| 14:40 |
Ries |
just some might not ;) |
| 14:41 |
gerards |
Ries, Denyerec: Ries's idea will not work if someone has a bookmark to any of the pages already. |
| 14:41 |
gerards |
Denyerec: he can just jump directly to that page. |
| 14:41 |
Denyerec |
That's OK, it's just to stop curious visitor |
| 14:41 |
Denyerec |
s |
| 14:41 |
Denyerec |
Though |
| 14:41 |
gerards |
with .htaccess, you basically intercept EVERYTHING. |
| 14:41 |
Denyerec |
I ticked "disable" on a template |
| 14:41 |
Denyerec |
and now I can't find it!!! |
| 14:41 |
Denyerec |
how do I get it back1? |
| 14:42 |
uschi |
by configuring your ssh-client |
| 14:42 |
Denyerec |
Ahh |
| 14:42 |
Denyerec |
list module to the rescue |
| 14:42 |
jdash |
Ries, any specific reason you recommend against using tidy? |
| 14:42 |
Phlogiston_ |
what the fuck: Does safari has a browser identification that is similar to IE, Mozilla or Opera? Because it passes the condition: [browser=msie, opera] [browser = netscape] && [version => 4] why that??? |
| 14:42 |
uschi |
your template you mean? |
| 14:42 |
gerards |
bauschan: if its just one field, without any configuration per user or per page, or per page-tree branch, then i suggest just adding in the javascript |
| 14:43 |
gerards |
Phlogiston_: :) yeah. that's why i asked what browser you were using to test. |
| 14:43 |
Phlogiston_ |
gerards: damn damn damn it... any way to change that? |
| 14:44 |
gerards |
Phlogiston_: i think only [browser=msie] reallyhas any use, because no other self respecting browser will call itself IE. |
| 14:44 |
gerards |
Phlogiston_: well lets look at what you're trying to solve be separating Safari from the other browsers. |
| 14:44 |
gerards |
Safari's CSS implementation is 99% the same as moz and opera. |
| 14:45 |
bauschan |
gerards: I'll give it a try, after having a look on the *rte* list, thx |
| 14:46 |
gerards |
Phlogiston_: if you REALLY need to separate safari from the other guys, check your apache logs and see what the browser identifies itself as. |
| 14:46 |
gerards |
oh. |
| 14:46 |
Ries |
jdash: I recommend against tidy since I have seen taht tidy can also corrupt my HTML, and browsers are often smart enough to render the HTML correctly if it was corrupted... appart from that it's provessor time, you might save some bandwidth though when using tidy if that is importand for you |
| 14:46 |
gerards |
btw Phlogiston_, why did you do [browser=msie,opera] [browser = netscape] && [version => 4] ? |
| 14:46 |
gerards |
why not [browser=msie,opera,netscape] && [version => 4] |
| 14:46 |
gerards |
are they different? |
| 14:46 |
Phlogiston_ |
hmm the problem is that I am styling input boxes with css and background imagers... the textcolor there is white... and thats not nice if you dont have the bg image because you won't see the text tiping in.... in konqueror it works by the way |
| 14:47 |
gerards |
Phlogiston_: konqueror *g* |
| 14:47 |
Phlogiston_ |
gerards: i could do && you are right.... |
| 14:47 |
Phlogiston_ |
gerards: konqueror is freaking cool, especially for file managment its unbeatable btw |
| 14:48 |
gerards |
Phlogiston_: yeah.... :D sorry can't help but diss konqueror a little. |
| 14:48 |
jdash |
nope, not important, just wondered :-) I haven't used it before...just gave it thought of doing so |
| 14:48 |
Phlogiston_ |
gg |
| 14:48 |
Phlogiston_ |
i think its typo3's fault :-p |
| 14:48 |
Phlogiston_ |
hey listen everybody! Typo3 sucks ;) |
| 14:48 |
gerards |
Konqueror sucks! |
| 14:49 |
gerards |
as long as we're flaming each other... |
| 14:49 |
gerards |
you know wth.... |
| 14:49 |
gerards |
ok. back to your problem. |
| 14:50 |
gerards |
i really don't think safari idens itself as msie. might be a good idea to check your apache logs and see. |
| 14:53 |
Phlogiston_ |
typo3 is just not able to identify safari? because they can, S is Safari http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp |
| 14:53 |
Phlogiston_ |
furthermore, it could also be netscape or opera, when you look at my condition |
| 14:54 |
Phlogiston_ |
i will modify it to figure out what exactly is it in the condition that acceppts the little bastard safari too |
| 14:55 |
bauschan |
cu all ! nice weekend everybody |
| 14:56 |
Phlogiston_ |
its not IE, checked, neither opera, BUT netscape |
| 14:56 |
gerards |
Phlogiston_ sounds good. I think you should do yourself a favor and check the http headers, either by checking the apache logs which (IIRC) will say the browser ideintificaiton string, or reading the http headers directly (i use liveHTTPheader extension for FF). |
| 14:57 |
Phlogiston_ |
so typo3 thinks safari is ==netscape... :( :( :( |
| 14:57 |
m4rtijn |
isnt it? :p |
| 14:58 |
gerards |
:) safari really isn't that differnt in the CSS implementation from moz. probably 99% the same... |
| 14:58 |
gerards |
maybe a css guy can confirm that? |
| 15:06 |
uschi |
true, gerards |
| 15:06 |
uschi |
virtually the same in many respects as konquerer |
| 15:06 |
uschi |
-e +o |
| 15:07 |
uschi |
what is the problem, gerards, i am interested, because i do have a special safari.css i have not implemented yet |
| 15:07 |
Phlogiston_ |
gerards: exactly what i want is different |
| 15:07 |
Phlogiston_ |
safari does not support styling inputs with a background image... and thats a damn problem |
| 15:08 |
gerards |
Phlogiston_: "safari does not support styling inputs with a background image" but it should gracefully degrade right? |
| 15:08 |
gerards |
it would just show nothing. |
| 15:08 |
Phlogiston_ |
gerards: jap, but as I said, I use font color white there with the graphics...... |
| 15:08 |
Phlogiston_ |
hmm I could set a background as a workaround... |
| 15:09 |
Ries |
gerards: I am still in the middle of the decission what route to take for teh solution!!! |
| 15:09 |
Phlogiston_ |
ah that works ;) hihi |
| 15:09 |
gerards |
Ries: when all else fails, just do it when the boss is not looking. |
| 15:11 |
Phlogiston_ |
thanks gerards ;) |
| 15:11 |
gerards |
just implement something Ries. i doubt a lot will be wasted work. |
| 15:11 |
gerards |
Phlogiston_: np. didn't do much. you solved 90% of it. |
| 15:12 |
Phlogiston_ |
I know but its always nice if anyone tries to help you ;) |
| 15:12 |
Phlogiston_ |
I'm more motivated then ;) |
| 15:12 |
Phlogiston_ |
shall i file a bug for typo3? =) |
| 15:12 |
gerards |
you're most welcome. |
| 15:13 |
Phlogiston_ |
ok but no now :p |
| 15:13 |
Ries |
I will take a decission in 1 hour ... I migt just re-implement teh current version |
| 15:22 |
Phlogiston_ |
would you use sr_feuser_register for newsletter registration or another plugin? |
| 15:24 |
Phlogiston_ |
direct_mail_subscription or da_newsletter_subscription? |

Tsoots |
i'm here |

pulponair |
damn in what way did the t3 guys patch prototype? |
| 16:39 |
Ries |
pulponair: The patched it teh TYPO3 way ofcourse!!! |

pulponair |
pff |

one line |

Ries |
k-fish is hiding already!!!!! (he is a core dev ;) ) |

Ries |
gerards: ?? |

gerards |
dude. |
| 17:04 |
gerards |
Ries: wats up? |
| 17:04 |
af_ |
how I configure the default language for a site? |
| 17:05 |
gerards |
config.language I think. |
| 17:05 |
gerards |
af_: check tsref. search for "top level objects" then "CONFIG". |
| 17:05 |
af_ |
what should I put there, a number or a string? |
| 17:05 |
gerards |
i think its a number. |
| 17:06 |
af_ |
uhm how get that number then ? |
| 17:06 |
gerards |
in your page tree, at the top, there will be sys_language records defined. |
| 17:06 |
gerards |
hover your mouse over the record's icon and the id will appear. |
| 17:06 |
Ries |
gerards: MSN |

please read kasper's "frontend localization guide". |
| 17:08 |
pulponair |
ries: regarding your mailinglist post :"100% agree" |
| 17:09 |
pulponair |
ries: if 3rd party soft is modified it needs to be commented |
| 17:09 |
pulponair |
this would prevent us from spending hours in wrapping or head about it |
| 17:11 |
Ries |
pulponair: I think always unmodifed.... |
| 17:11 |
Ries |
Comments are not read anyways |
| 17:11 |
pulponair |
even better |
| 17:11 |
pulponair |
yes you are right |
| 17:11 |
Ries |
and for you in this case you will not try to find a comment for that |
| 17:11 |
Ries |
I would say, if tehy need something... they need to make a special function for that |
| 17:11 |
Ries |
or a setting |
| 17:11 |
Ries |
if (typo3) |
| 17:11 |
Ries |
bla bla |
| 17:12 |
Ries |
so they can put it in typo3 mode.... then they can maintain it ;) |
| 17:14 |
pulponair |
ries: even better adjust t3 to work in common with std. software :) |
| 17:16 |
Ries |
pulponair: are you asking for a utopia now?!?!?! |
| 17:18 |
pulponair |
ries: yeas |

pulponair |
ries: i gotta go movin 4.5tb from one server to another ..:) |

Ries |
pulponair: Just pick up the machine and put it down somewhere else?! |
| 17:46 |
Shardon |
hello ppl |
| 17:47 |
Shardon |
is there a really nice tutorial on templavoila? I find the one in typo3.org a little difficult to follow... :\ |
| 17:49 |
Ries |
Shardon: did you see some of teh vidio's? |
| 17:50 |
Shardon |
I watched some sometime ago, not about tv in particular |
| 17:50 |
Shardon |
do the vids cover tv? |
| 17:54 |
Ries |
I tink kasper made a couple around x-mass |
| 17:54 |
Ries |
what is the difference between a primary key and a unique constraint?!?! |
| 17:58 |
gerards |
there can be more than one unique constraint? |
| 17:58 |
gerards |
but only one UC is a Primary key. |
| 17:59 |
Ries |
a primary key cannot of a NULL in one of it's records, a d unique constraint can have just one null value... |
| 17:59 |
Ries |
appart from that they are exactly the same... |
| 17:59 |
gerards |
probably most DB ALWAYS create an index on PKs. |
| 17:59 |
gerards |
not sure if most db create an index for UCs. |
| 18:00 |
gerards |
nulls: yes i forgot about that.... |
| 18:00 |
gerards |
:) |
| 18:01 |
Ries |
PG creates a index on inique constrains... |
| 18:02 |
Ries |
pg also creates a index on a PK |
| 18:02 |
Ries |
PG also create a index on UC.... not sure about otehr DB's... |
| 18:02 |
Ries |
gosh.. everyday I learn and realise more about DB's... |
| 18:03 |
gerards |
maybe pk is just a macro for Unique and not null/ |
| 18:03 |
gerards |
? |
| 18:04 |
gerards |
bbl |
| 18:04 |
Ries |
possible.... I think that depends how it is done internally.. |
| 18:04 |
gerards |
Ries: sent you an email. |
| 19:17 |
Shardon |
help me on something: are some parts obsolete in terms of reading after the introduction of templavoila? |
| 19:18 |
Shardon |
I am wondering where to start reading because it seems in the tutorials and vids that many things are now different |
| 19:18 |
Shardon |
sorry if my questions seem stupid, i am experienced with developing with php but really newbie in typo3 aspects |
