tansta |
does anyone know how to make the mini news extension display latest first ? |
| 01:41 |
Denyerec |
Why not tt_news just out of interest ? |
| 01:47 |
tansta |
too big for what i need :) |
| 01:48 |
tansta |
anyway, going to lunch |
| 01:48 |
tansta |
brb |
| 02:06 |
Denyerec |
tansta |
| 02:06 |
Denyerec |
Do you mean too big as in too complex ? |
| 02:06 |
Denyerec |
or the actual SIZE of the plugin ? |
| 02:06 |
Denyerec |
cos tt_news I thought for simple stuff was pretty easy to configure. |
| 02:14 |
tansta |
i was just lazy Denyerec :) |
| 02:14 |
tansta |
didn't want to have to modify images and stuff... |
| 02:35 |
Denyerec |
modify images? |
| 02:38 |
tansta |
sorry sorry |
| 02:38 |
tansta |
got a phone call :) |
| 02:39 |
Denyerec |
np |
| 02:39 |
Denyerec |
lemme know when you're off |
| 02:39 |
tansta |
okay i am off |
| 02:39 |
Denyerec |
Which news plugin are you using ? and what do you mean "modify images" |
| 02:40 |
tansta |
i am using the mininews |
| 02:40 |
Denyerec |
and the images? |
| 02:43 |
tansta |
you know how the tt_news have images |
| 02:43 |
tansta |
i would have to lay out the template for it |
| 02:43 |
tansta |
which i am a bit lazy |
| 02:43 |
tansta |
:) |
| 02:44 |
Denyerec |
ah |
| 02:44 |
Denyerec |
and mininews has it done already? |
| 02:44 |
tansta |
no, mininews just have text and that's it |
| 02:44 |
tansta |
hehhee |
| 02:44 |
Denyerec |
haha |
| 02:44 |
Denyerec |
Remove the temptation |
| 02:44 |
Denyerec |
:) |
| 02:44 |
Denyerec |
I would like to be able to distribute images in tt_news throughout the bodytext but it seems it cannot be done |
| 02:45 |
tansta |
hey do you know how to restrict access to a page ? |
| 02:46 |
Denyerec |
no :( |
| 02:46 |
Denyerec |
i know how to restrict access |
| 02:46 |
tansta |
hehhee |
| 02:46 |
Denyerec |
but not how to hendle FE users who can access it! |
| 02:46 |
Denyerec |
so it's kinda pointless knowledge |
| 02:47 |
tansta |
hehehe |
| 02:47 |
tansta |
i can show you once i work this out ;) |
| 03:32 |
jsfan |
Denyerec, why don't you use the rte for your tt_news? |
| 03:35 |
tansta |
why is it that when i restrict access to a page, i cannot change my template layout ? |
| 03:36 |
tansta |
i am using TV by the way |
| 03:41 |
rocking |
is there any resources available in typo 3 for digitial asset management system? |
| 03:49 |
tansta |
rocking Plenty :) |
| 03:49 |
tansta |
search for DAM in the extension repository |
| 03:49 |
rocking |
i was searching in gogle and did not come across anything |
| 03:50 |
rocking |
aha |
| 03:50 |
tansta |
GERARDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD |
| 03:50 |
rocking |
which means typo3 supports DAM< |
| 03:50 |
tansta |
search for digital assess management then |
| 03:50 |
tansta |
typo3.org/extensions |
| 03:50 |
tansta |
there's a few good ones |
| 03:50 |
rocking |
ah great |
| 03:50 |
tansta |
HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP |
| 03:51 |
rocking |
is dAM of typo3 stable? |
| 03:51 |
tansta |
rocking: you have to try it out, but usually anything that is BETA are useful |
| 03:52 |
rocking |
ah, so we have dam beta verson |
| 03:53 |
tansta |
yep i think that's a good one |
| 03:54 |
rocking |
got it |
| 03:54 |
rocking |
thx |
| 03:54 |
tansta |
no probs |
| 03:55 |
rocking |
btw, do you have any idea which other technolgoies support DAM liek php, java? |
| 03:56 |
tansta |
i am not sure what you meant bro, but i think DAM can be built with any language... |
| 03:56 |
tansta |
its just like CMS where you manage your digital assess |
| 03:56 |
tansta |
:) |
| 03:56 |
rocking |
yes, but are there anything readymade in other technologies?> |
| 03:57 |
rocking |
i know it can build in any language, but is it already built :) |
| 03:57 |
rocking |
like in java or php |
| 03:57 |
tansta |
oh you mean OS |
| 03:57 |
tansta |
so you've done a search but found nothing ? |
| 03:57 |
rocking |
did nto get anything specific |
| 03:58 |
rocking |
when i search for dam in java |
| 03:59 |
tansta |
hmmm...i wouldn't know |
| 03:59 |
tansta |
you should ask Ries |
| 03:59 |
tansta |
he knows everything :) |
| 03:59 |
rocking |
ok :) |
| 04:01 |
Ries |
tansta: ?!?!?! :D |
| 04:02 |
tansta |
hehehe |
| 04:02 |
Ries |
tansta: there is a difference between answering every question and knowing every answer ;) |
| 04:02 |
tansta |
do you know any Digital Assess Management software built in JAVA or PHP ? |
| 04:02 |
tansta |
hehehe |
| 04:02 |
tansta |
Ries: but you know everything that's why you can answer everything ;) |
| 04:03 |
rocking |
heh, just trying to see which technolgies has support for DAM |
| 04:03 |
Ries |
tansta: DAM suppose to do that, but I don't like it's design much... it seems to be a bit tailored for managing images |
| 04:03 |
rocking |
especially in php or java, do we have any kind of stable versions? |
| 04:03 |
tansta |
yeah it is...its call Digital Assess management doesn't it ? |
| 04:04 |
tansta |
and images are digital kekeke |
| 04:04 |
rocking |
Ries. do we have in php or java? |
| 04:06 |
Ries |
rocking: typo3 has one called DAM, but like I said, personally I don't like it much |
| 04:06 |
rocking |
aha |
| 04:06 |
Ries |
There are native PHP solutions, and possible java solutions aswell... |
| 04:06 |
tansta |
Ries: i think he meant standalone one, like osCommerce for example |
| 04:06 |
rocking |
nope |
| 04:06 |
Ries |
problem with me is that I know only how to write teh word java, I don't do java |
| 04:07 |
rocking |
i am just trying to see which technologies has support for DAM apart from typo3 |
| 04:07 |
Denyerec |
jsfan - inserting images in the RTE is *nasty* |
| 04:07 |
Ries |
rocking: there is DAM in typo3... that's about it... |
| 04:07 |
rocking |
i am basically looking out to build a site similar to gettyimages.com or corbis.com |
| 04:07 |
Ries |
rocking: how much images? |
| 04:07 |
Denyerec |
gettys has 100,000's |
| 04:07 |
tansta |
okay i have a problem |
| 04:07 |
tansta |
i need some help |
| 04:07 |
rocking |
yes |
| 04:07 |
tansta |
:) |
| 04:08 |
tansta |
i have 2 templates, content and main |
| 04:08 |
rocking |
i am looking for my site to be scalling to it in 6-10 months |
| 04:08 |
Denyerec |
Ries - you know of any nice way to distribute tt_news images throughout an article ? |
| 04:08 |
Denyerec |
or any other news plugins that do it ? |
| 04:08 |
tansta |
i have a login page which uses the content template, but for some reason whenever i restrict access to it, the template changes back to main, which is wrong... |
| 04:08 |
tansta |
anyone have any idea ? |
| 04:08 |
rocking |
so just wondering, whether typo3 can actually sclae and also stable? |
| 04:09 |
Ries |
Denyerec: I don't know much about tt_news, sorry... |
| 04:09 |
Denyerec |
Ries - do you know who in here does? |
| 04:09 |
Ries |
Denyerec: I only know how to put one image on the top :D |
| 04:09 |
tansta |
i know tt_news |
| 04:09 |
Denyerec |
well tansta - do you know of a way to distribute the images through an article like, say, on http://news.bbc.co.uk |
| 04:10 |
Denyerec |
I know how to make the 1st image the teaser imae |
| 04:10 |
Denyerec |
*image |
| 04:10 |
Ries |
rocking: I am working on a image gallery system that suppose to handle massive galleries, it's just in the making :D |
| 04:10 |
Ries |
so I don't have proof yet |
| 04:10 |
Denyerec |
But multiple images in tt_news suck |
| 04:10 |
Denyerec |
they all crap out together at the top and it's lame. |
| 04:10 |
Ries |
about scaling, it's not so much if typo3 can handle it, but if you have the resources to buy hardware, untill you hit a shit load of hit's per second |
| 04:10 |
tansta |
Denyerect: when you find out how to do that, please let me know :) |
| 04:11 |
Denyerec |
Damnit Tansta! :) |
| 04:11 |
tansta |
hahahaha |
| 04:11 |
Denyerec |
Using the RTE to do it just seems ugly. The RTE is so freakin bad. |
| 04:11 |
tansta |
no dont do that no RTE |
| 04:11 |
Denyerec |
be nice if you could drop markers in the article, or just output them after H2's or something |
| 04:12 |
tansta |
unless you're desparate |
| 04:12 |
Denyerec |
so they'd come in at heading sections |
| 04:12 |
Denyerec |
*anything* |
| 04:12 |
jsfan |
Denyerec, i don't like the rte, either, but if you properly configure it, it is ok. |
| 04:12 |
rocking |
hmm, ok. regarding scaling. i think we can still do custom development along with DAM. |
| 04:12 |
tansta |
rocking: what's scaling ? |
| 04:12 |
tansta |
resizing images automatically ? |
| 04:12 |
jsfan |
Denyerec, why don't you just write an extension that extends tt_news in that way? |
| 04:13 |
tansta |
yeah Denyerec, you can do it |
| 04:13 |
Denyerec |
jsfan - if I'm unable to work tt_news, what makes you think I'm capable of extending it ? |
| 04:13 |
tansta |
make sure you let me use it ;) |
| 04:13 |
tansta |
hahahha |
| 04:13 |
rocking |
if i want to do custom dev. based on the specs, then typo3 should allow me to do it |
| 04:13 |
jsfan |
Denyerec, hm, good point ;) |
| 04:13 |
tansta |
jsfan: he's just lazy, he can do it |
| 04:13 |
jsfan |
hi gerards :) |
| 04:14 |
tansta |
okay does anyone have a solution to my problem ? |
| 04:14 |
jsfan |
tansta, what is your problem? |
| 04:14 |
tansta |
jsfan: i cant restrict acess to a page |
| 04:14 |
jsfan |
oh, read that before. didn't understand it ;) |
| 04:14 |
gerarddd |
hi jsfan |
| 04:14 |
tansta |
> i have a login page which uses the content template, but for some reason whenever i restrict access to it, the template changes back to main, which is wrong... |
| 04:15 |
tansta |
GERARDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD |
| 04:15 |
tansta |
please help :) |
| 04:15 |
tansta |
by the way are you drunk ? |
| 04:15 |
tansta |
if so its okay hehehehe |
| 04:15 |
gerarddd |
testing some ethernet cables. |
| 04:15 |
Ries |
rocking: you can use typo3 as a framework, that is how I build this gallery right now |
| 04:15 |
jsfan |
tansta, do you use the general root storage page for logins? |
| 04:15 |
jsfan |
ries! |
| 04:15 |
Ries |
jsfan: !!! dude |
| 04:15 |
rocking |
ok |
| 04:16 |
tansta |
jsfan: i've create a sysfolder containing users |
| 04:16 |
jsfan |
ries, was it you who answered my post on performance problems with the search? |
| 04:16 |
tansta |
if that's what you mean |
| 04:16 |
Ries |
jsfan: I might have been, did I said use mnogosearch or htdig? |
| 04:16 |
tansta |
jsfan: you must be Christian ? :) |
| 04:17 |
jsfan |
tansta, that does not answer my question... did you change the general root storage page of your page when you introduced logins? |
| 04:17 |
Ries |
jsfan: if so, just use mnogosearch.... |
| 04:17 |
jsfan |
Ries, yes |
| 04:17 |
jsfan |
Ries, for now i have just disabled the "part of word" search. seems to be good enough. |
| 04:18 |
jsfan |
i just wonder how you can set that via TS instead of through the postvars. |
| 04:18 |
Denyerec |
what the hell is mnogosearch |
| 04:18 |
Denyerec |
I am on their website.... and confused. |
| 04:18 |
jsfan |
i don't like being DoSed abusing this "feature" |
| 04:18 |
jsfan |
Denyerec, a search engine |
| 04:18 |
tansta |
jsfan: if i do that then my page Tempalte Structure Dis-appear :) |
| 04:18 |
jsfan |
that's why i asked. |
| 04:18 |
jsfan |
so you still see the template structure? |
| 04:18 |
tansta |
oh, in that case i didn't :) |
| 04:19 |
tansta |
yes yes |
| 04:19 |
jsfan |
tansta, so, the right template is selected but not used? |
| 04:19 |
Denyerec |
Oh, so it's a search you run on your local server |
| 04:19 |
tansta |
jsfan: yes yes |
| 04:19 |
tansta |
weird though |
| 04:19 |
Denyerec |
a site indexer / crawler ? |
| 04:19 |
jsfan |
Denyerec, yes. |
| 04:19 |
Denyerec |
Neat. |
| 04:19 |
tansta |
but when i un-restricted it then its fine |
| 04:19 |
jsfan |
Ries, maybe i can write a proper t3 extension for mnogosearch someday. |
| 04:19 |
Denyerec |
i presume there's a Typo extension to interface with mnogo ? |
| 04:20 |
jsfan |
i only wonder how to get it to observe access restrictions and languages... |
| 04:20 |
jsfan |
Denyerec, no, there is not. |
| 04:20 |
Denyerec |
Hmm |
| 04:20 |
Denyerec |
Then what use is it to a typo site? |
| 04:20 |
tansta |
Denyerec: stop interupting, i still have a problem :) |
| 04:20 |
jsfan |
tansta, that is really weird. |
| 04:20 |
tansta |
i know........... |
| 04:20 |
tansta |
beats me |
| 04:20 |
Ries |
jsfan: That's on my TODO for more then a year |
| 04:20 |
Denyerec |
So how do you normall use it ? |
| 04:20 |
jsfan |
Denyerec, try a medium sized site with indexed_search. it's enough to crash the mysql server. |
| 04:21 |
Denyerec |
Have it sat on its own pages? |
| 04:21 |
jsfan |
Ries, i know this kind of todo lists :( |
| 04:21 |
Ries |
Denyerec: mno is very usefull.... |
| 04:21 |
Denyerec |
I've been meaning to write a gallery for 18 months. |
| 04:21 |
Denyerec |
:/ |
| 04:21 |
jsfan |
Ries, let me know if you ever give it a shot. i might at least contribute. |
| 04:21 |
tansta |
Denyerec: why write when you use others ? kekekeke |
| 04:21 |
jsfan |
Denyerec, there are heaps of galleries around... |
| 04:21 |
Denyerec |
tansta - I wrote my own gallery :( |
| 04:21 |
Denyerec |
Photos -> http://gallery.denyerec.co.uk/ |
| 04:21 |
tansta |
oh i forgot, you and i cant write hehehe |
| 04:22 |
Denyerec |
but it's a bit clunky. |
| 04:22 |
tansta |
okay that makes just me cant write :) |
| 04:22 |
Denyerec |
That was back in the days when I had some confidence. |
| 04:22 |
gerarddd |
writing galleries seem to be the in thing nowadays. |
| 04:22 |
Denyerec |
Now... I have none. |
| 04:22 |
Denyerec |
gerarddd - that's cos all the existing ones SUCK |
| 04:22 |
tansta |
JM Gallery is pretty good |
| 04:22 |
Denyerec |
BLeh |
| 04:22 |
Ries |
galleries are often really specific, liek shop systems... |
| 04:22 |
Denyerec |
Yeah Ries. |
| 04:22 |
Ries |
gallery is to generic also |
| 04:23 |
gerards |
i agree with Ries. like forms. |
| 04:23 |
jsfan |
then don't use typo3 but gallery. |
| 04:23 |
Denyerec |
gallery is nasty. |
| 04:23 |
Denyerec |
I've never liked it. |
| 04:23 |
gerards |
its hard to write a good generic form / Shop / gallery extension. |
| 04:23 |
jsfan |
i use gallery and like it. check it out http://australia.penpal4u.net |
| 04:23 |
Denyerec |
Hence why I wrote my own |
| 04:23 |
tansta |
Hence why its chunky ;) |
| 04:24 |
Denyerec |
hehe |
| 04:24 |
gerards |
one of my stupid cables is messing with me. I still haven't found what i'm looking for... |
| 04:24 |
Denyerec |
Right |
| 04:24 |
Denyerec |
0430hrs |
| 04:24 |
Denyerec |
I'm going to bed. |
| 04:24 |
Denyerec |
I will continue to complain about tt_news tomorrow. |
| 04:24 |
gerards |
we'll be here Denyerec. |
| 04:24 |
Denyerec |
Ries - I will expect you to explain mnogo also. |
| 04:24 |
Ries |
gerards: now I finally know why U2 made that sing, he was just looking for his cable :D |
| 04:24 |
Denyerec |
I see it working, but i don't get how you'd integrate it into a site |
| 04:24 |
gerards |
i'm all dirty and sweaty. |
| 04:25 |
Denyerec |
Maybe that's the problem :) |
| 04:25 |
Ries |
gerards: ever thought about WIFI? |
| 04:25 |
gerards |
i don't eat sardines :) |
| 04:25 |
Denyerec |
Heh |
| 04:25 |
tansta |
sardines is good |
| 04:25 |
Denyerec |
Ries - I'll be bugging you about extensions to extensions tomorrow. I've had an idea. |
| 04:26 |
Denyerec |
Anyway, for now, goodnight. |
| 04:26 |
gerards |
night Denyerec. |
| 04:26 |
tansta |
good night mate |
| 04:26 |
Denyerec |
gnight :( |
| 04:26 |
jsfan |
good night, Denyerec |
| 04:27 |
gerards |
oh btw, i'm a ubuntu snob now... ;) |
| 04:27 |
tansta |
what? |
| 04:27 |
gerards |
finally got rid of all the stupid rpms. |
| 04:27 |
tansta |
ubuntu snob ? what's that? |
| 04:28 |
gerards |
i used to use red hat, i switched to ubuntu.... |
| 04:34 |
Ries |
night |
| 04:50 |
tansta |
i really dont understand why i cant restrict access to a page |
| 05:06 |
jsfan |
tansta, neither do i |
| 05:06 |
tansta |
well not that i cant, but it somehow uses the wrong template |
| 05:06 |
jsfan |
gerards, ubuntu? i'm shocked... ;) |
| 05:07 |
gerards |
;) |
| 05:07 |
jsfan |
tansta, it's weird. have never seen that. |
| 05:07 |
jsfan |
is it the latest tv? |
| 05:07 |
tansta |
yeah latest TV |
| 05:07 |
tansta |
1.3 |
| 05:08 |
tansta |
here's another weird thing, using the view modules i can see it |
| 05:08 |
tansta |
but not on the website |
| 05:08 |
tansta |
its using the right template when i view it using the BE view modules |
| 05:09 |
jsfan |
maybe you have access restrictions on your template... ;-) |
| 05:10 |
tansta |
really ? |
| 05:10 |
tansta |
how do i do that ? |
| 05:11 |
jsfan |
tansta, no idea. you did it. ;) |
| 05:11 |
jsfan |
btw, you are tan le? |
| 05:11 |
tansta |
yes |
| 05:12 |
tansta |
;) |
| 05:12 |
jsfan |
just saw that your ip address belongs to your employer ;) |
| 05:12 |
tansta |
where how ? |
| 05:12 |
jsfan |
big secret ;) |
| 05:12 |
tansta |
hahaha |
| 05:13 |
jsfan |
tansta, what does your employer need 8 ip addresses for? |
| 05:13 |
tansta |
8 ? |
| 05:13 |
tansta |
i thought we only have 4 |
| 05:13 |
tansta |
hmmm... |
| 05:13 |
tansta |
maybe we have 8 computers connected here ? |
| 05:14 |
jsfan |
even then. why do you need 8 public ip addresses? to catch more viruses? |
| 05:14 |
tansta |
really ? |
| 05:14 |
tansta |
hmmm..i didn't set up the network here so i wouldn't know how its done |
| 05:14 |
tansta |
how can you see it ? |
| 05:14 |
jsfan |
if all the machines are on public ip addresses, i assume there is no common firewall (although there could be) |
| 05:15 |
tansta |
is it 202.130.193.196 ? |
| 05:15 |
tansta |
no there should only be that IP as public |

what does "tt_content.CSS_editor.ch.tx_myext_pi1 = < plugin.tx_myext_pi1.CSS_editor" do? It's added by the kickstarter |
| 07:42 |
Fanty |
and I can't really see any difference when deleting the adding of the TS to ST43 |

Olegs |
Hello |

Olegs |
I've installed direct mail , and in module information in Extension Manager the module displays "Table error! |
| 07:50 |
Olegs |
Probably one or more required fields/tables are missing in the database!". How can I see what is missing? |

| 09:55 |
Jigal |
Hmm... I just added some French translations to a locallang.php file via the backend interface. It looks like the stuff got double utf-8 encoded (http://www.sigmakalon.nl/index.php?id=37&jobid=506&L=1) What's the best solution for this? |

Hi have an issue on win with 4.05 dummy3.8 and mysql5.1 created db imported tables - Now create Admin user is not working anyone knows what to do ? |
| 10:21 |
Fanty |
Why can't I get typo3 to include my static/setup.txt ts file? http://phpfi.com/208947 |
| 10:21 |
zatmania |
you use typo3 4.0.5 ? |
| 10:23 |
zatmania |
arnold-99 ? |
| 10:24 |
zatmania |
Fanty : t3lib_extMgm::addPItoST43 ? |
| 10:24 |
enzo |
hi |
| 10:24 |
zatmania |
hi enzo |
| 10:25 |
Fanty |
zatmania: t3lib_extMgm::addPItoST43($_EXTKEY,'pi5/class.myext_pi5.php','_pi5','list_type',1); in ext_localconf.php |
| 10:27 |
zatmania |
yes |
| 10:31 |
Fanty |
so.. no ideas to why it won't include my setup.txt? |
| 10:34 |
zatmania |
you have this : pi5/static/setup.txt ? |
| 10:35 |
Fanty |
yes |
| 10:35 |
zatmania |
setup.txt only for pi5 ? |
| 10:35 |
Fanty |
not important right now.. but yes |
| 10:35 |
Fanty |
I just want it included right now |
| 10:36 |
zatmania |
try to put it like ext_typoscript_setup.txt |
| 10:36 |
zatmania |
il your folder ext |
| 10:36 |
zatmania |
outside the pi5 folder |
| 10:36 |
Fanty |
the core api lists it at the depricated way of doingit |
| 10:37 |
Fanty |
uncool not to use some old way of doing things when a new system is in place.. =/ |
| 10:37 |
Fanty |
uncool to use |
| 10:37 |
zatmania |
yes |
| 10:38 |
zatmania |
i just look to an ext i have installed before |
| 10:38 |
zatmania |
and it use this way |
| 10:38 |
zatmania |
and i have typo 4.0.4 online |
| 10:38 |
zatmania |
try to see another ext |
| 10:38 |
Fanty |
newloginbox does it that way too. I've tried to do it as static_info_tables does |
| 10:39 |
zatmania |
ok i just look to an ext made by a good friend, a good typo3 developper |
| 10:39 |
zatmania |
it made it by this way too |
| 10:39 |
zatmania |
so ..... |
| 10:39 |
zatmania |
deprecated but already use :) |
| 10:39 |
zatmania |
still use |
| 10:39 |
zatmania |
sorry |
| 10:40 |
Fanty |
just anoying it works with static_info_tables |
| 10:40 |
Fanty |
:) |
| 10:40 |
zatmania |
i look |
| 10:40 |
zatmania |
i have it too |
| 10:40 |
zatmania |
ok need to have a folder with ext key in the static folder |
| 10:41 |
zatmania |
have you try this ? |
| 10:41 |
zatmania |
for me |
| 10:41 |
zatmania |
./websuite/www/intranet/web/UIP/typo3conf/ext/static_info_tables/static/static_info_tables |
| 10:42 |
Fanty |
I specify the path with 3lib_extMgm::addStaticFile($_EXTKEY, 'pi5/static/', 'myext pi5 static'); -- t3lib_extMgm::addStaticFile($_EXTKEY, 'static/static_info_tables/', 'Static Info tables'); |
| 10:43 |
Fanty |
but actually... the template objectbrowser doesn't have any entries for tx_staticinfotables! |
| 10:44 |
Fanty |
I guess I'll just use ext_static_setup.txt |
| 10:45 |
Fanty |
ext_typoscript_setup.txt even |
| 10:45 |
arnold-99 |
zatmania> arnold-99 yes sorry had an isse someware was away |
| 10:46 |
zatmania |
fanty : if you look to static info tables no entry for that in ext_localconf.php |
| 10:47 |
Fanty |
zatmania: no, they use ext_tables instead |
| 10:48 |
zatmania |
yes i just see |
| 10:51 |
zatmania |
Fanty : in an ext : i have this |
| 10:51 |
zatmania |
t3lib_extMgm::addPItoST43($_EXTKEY,'pi1/class.tx_fmappslaunch_pi1.php','_pi1','list_type',1); |
| 10:52 |
zatmania |
i just verified, it appears in static template |
| 10:53 |
Fanty |
zatmania: I got that line too in my ext_localconf.php file |
| 10:53 |
zatmania |
just want to understand |
| 10:53 |
zatmania |
you want to add static template or setup TS ? |
| 10:54 |
Fanty |
I want the feature ext_typoscript_setup.txt gives me.. I need it to set the _CSS_DEFAULT_STYLE for the pi |
| 10:55 |
arnold-99 |
zatmania do yo have an idear waht it can be or how to aad a admin user ? |
| 10:55 |
zatmania |
arnold-99 : are you use a dummu 3.8 and a typo3src 4.0.5 ? |
| 10:55 |
Fanty |
It's working with ext_typoscript_setup.txt. I'm just not a fan of using a depricated functionality when it states addStaticFile() is the future |
| 10:55 |
zatmania |
dummy |
| 10:56 |
arnold-99 |
yes ;-) |
| 10:56 |
zatmania |
Fanty : yes i see but i have no response ;) |
| 10:56 |
zatmania |
arnold-99 : why don't use a dummy 4.x ? |
| 10:56 |
arnold-99 |
dummy-4.0.5 |
| 10:56 |
zatmania |
symlink have change |
| 10:56 |
arnold-99 |

arnold-99 : yes |
| 10:56 |
zatmania |
arnold-99 ok |

| 10:58 |
arnold-99 |

arnold-99 |
for those that wanna know the answer: |
| 11:34 |
arnold-99 |
Known problem when using mysql 5.x |
| 11:34 |
arnold-99 |
Open the my.ini with your favourite editor and search for sql_mode=... |
| 11:34 |
arnold-99 |
replace the whole line with |
| 11:34 |
arnold-99 |
sql_mode="MYSQL40" |
| 11:34 |
arnold-99 |
restart mysql and the creation of users should succeed |
| 11:35 |
arnold-99 |

| 11:35 |
arnold-99 |
still fail to login but that will be something else I expect |

just a (probably stupid) question: in the tutorials, there is explained, how different subdomains kan have different roots with domain records. if i got multiple TLDs on one TYPO3, is it as easy as with that subdomains? |

guer|lla: jup |

GunayShuaib |
Hi |
| 13:44 |
GunayShuaib |
one question |
| 13:44 |
GunayShuaib |
is anybody know how I can parse tt_news output |
| 13:44 |
GunayShuaib |
??? |
| 13:45 |
pulponair |
isn't there an innerwrap property for gmenu item? |
| 13:45 |
GunayShuaib |
what you meant? |
| 13:49 |
GunayShuaib |
I want to change the way for news display in output |
| 13:49 |
GunayShuaib |
at the moment news are displayed in <table> rows |
| 13:50 |
GunayShuaib |
I want to display them in column instead of rows |
| 13:50 |
GunayShuaib |
I need help, please |
| 13:54 |
zatmania |
you have a hook |
| 13:54 |
zatmania |
in ttnews |
| 13:54 |
zatmania |
some hook sorry |
| 13:55 |
GunayShuaib |
what I need to do?? |
| 13:56 |
zatmania |
read the doc and develop an extension |
| 13:56 |
zatmania |
why do you want in column ? |
| 13:59 |
GunayShuaib |
my layout is in this way |
| 14:02 |
toms |
@Gunay: tt_news uses an html-file as a template. You can define the file to use if you edit the plugin in content and select the "template " tab |
| 14:03 |
toms |
@Gunay: A default template file is included in tt_news. This one you can edit, instead of writing one from scratch |
| 14:05 |
Ries |
toms: I would not edit teh template as found in the extensions directory, I would copy it to fileadmin/templates |
| 14:05 |
Ries |
and modify it there |
| 14:05 |
Ries |
then select in tt_news to use that template |
| 14:05 |
Ries |
toms: basic rule in typo3 is to never edit any extensions |
| 14:06 |
zatmania |
GunayShuaib : ttnews permit this kind of presentation, see the manual screenshot |
| 14:07 |
toms |
@ries: your right, i did so... forgot to tell^^ |
| 14:08 |
Ries |
glad to hear thta |

hmm is there a way to place something between <a> and <img> within a gmenu item? |
| 14:12 |
toms |
I'm using news_feedit and I heard it is possible to show the new entries by default. Anyone knowing what I have to do to show the new items by default? |
| 14:14 |
j0hndeere |
ah, good morning, Ries. |
| 14:19 |
pulponair |
gmenu sucks! |
| 14:20 |
Denyerec |
Ries I really need to speak with you when you're not too busy. |
| 14:37 |
Denyerec |
Heh |
| 14:38 |
Denyerec |
Typical. |
| 14:38 |
Denyerec |
I need someone to help me with this: http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=4747 |
| 14:46 |
Fanty |
I've got a flexform with an RTE editor in my backend. How do I display the content of this field? - I cant just paste the content of the field directly without breaking the links made in the RTE |
| 14:47 |
Fanty |
breaking as in; its not stored in <a .. ></a> format but as <link url params> |
| 14:47 |
tobi |
delmonico: you could implement this function as postUserFunc on a stdwrap |
| 14:48 |
tobi |
Fanty: just copy the parse func from lib.parseFunc_RTE |
| 14:48 |
toms |
@fanty: Is it a solution to copy the html-code instead? You can switch to html-view in rte |
| 14:49 |
tobi |
fanty: if you have for example a TEXT object use mytext.parseFunc<lib.parseFunc_RTE |
| 14:49 |
Fanty |
i need the content parsed in php |
| 14:49 |
toms |
@fanty: okay, then this isn't a help |
| 14:51 |
gerards |
good morning everyone |
| 14:51 |
pulponair |
this gmenu drives me crazy! |
| 14:51 |
[666] |
i drive u crazy *sing* |
| 14:51 |
pulponair |
gerards: thank you i received your mail but i discovered it myself meanwhile ;) |
| 14:53 |
gerards |
sure no problem. |
| 14:54 |
gerards |
I just cut and pasted from my code, so it no biggie. |
| 14:56 |
Denyerec |

Tobi tobi tobi |
| 14:57 |
Denyerec |
You made the mistake of revealing that you knew things. |
| 14:57 |
Denyerec |
So now you're in for it proper :) |
| 14:58 |
Denyerec |
Does *anyone* know what to do with this: http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=4747 |
| 14:59 |
koomi |
mystery rte: why does the rte remove my csc-frame-1 class from tables even though it's in allowed classes |
| 14:59 |
koomi |
(out of the box typical config) |
| 15:00 |
tobi |
Denyerec: with postUserFunc you can create a function that post parses the cObject, so just create a little userfunction with this code |
| 15:01 |
Denyerec |
Mmm. SO make a PHP file with that function in as a userfunction |
| 15:01 |
pulponair |
again: any hints on how to place something between <a> and <img> using a gmenu? |
| 15:01 |
Denyerec |
then call postUserFunc from within tt_news on the news output ? |
| 15:01 |
tobi |
yes Denyerec |
| 15:01 |
Denyerec |
k. |
| 15:01 |
Denyerec |
Now I just need to figure out how to make a userfunc :D |
| 15:02 |
tobi |
http://www.typo3wizard.com/en/snippets/common-problems-and-solutions/simple-userfunc.html Denyerec |
| 15:02 |
Denyerec |
Hah, I just got there from google :D |
| 15:02 |
Denyerec |
Thanks tobi |
| 15:04 |
toms |
@pulponair: In my docu it says: image.linkWrap=<a href="..:">|</a> Maybe you could use this value that way linkWrap=MYTEXT<a href="...">|</a>MYOTHERTEXT |
| 15:04 |
toms |
i do not know if this works for gmenu too |
| 15:04 |
Denyerec |
Mmm. Tobi, sorry to bug you, but in that "patch" file, there's some stuff preceeding the function itself. |
| 15:05 |
tobi |
Denyerec: you need to implement that part too |
| 15:05 |
pulponair |
toms: no it does not |
| 15:05 |
Denyerec |
Where it says "parse given html" |
| 15:05 |
tobi |
have to go now .. if you want we can have a look a it tomorrow |

it's not mine either |
| 15:32 |
koomi |
what good does lib.parseFunc_RTE.externalBlocks.table.stdWrap.HTMLparser.tags.table.fixAttrib.class do? it removes the class from my table but i dont see the point ... |
| 15:36 |
pulponair |
i bid one crate of beer for solving the gmenu issue! |
| 15:38 |
smda |
I so much like to have one |
| 15:38 |
pulponair |
how to place something between <a> and <img> using gmenu |
| 15:39 |
pulponair |
smda: i am already diggin through the tslib_menu src |
| 15:40 |
smda |
hehe |
| 15:41 |
j0hndeere |
a crate of beer? |
| 15:42 |
j0hndeere |
pulponair: Would this be German beer? |
| 15:42 |
pulponair |
j0hndeere: depends on where to ship to |
| 15:42 |
j0hndeere |
Well, I certainly wouldn't do it for a crate of American beer. |
| 15:43 |
j0hndeere |
tastes like watered-down urine. |
| 15:43 |
pulponair |
j0hndeere: hehe |
| 15:43 |
pulponair |
j0hndeere: yes |
| 15:44 |

flo_ps |
hello guys |
| 16:20 |
flo_ps |
I have a problem. I've installed typo3 4.0.4, everything seems fine but the richttext editor does not load (The editor is being loaded. Please wait...) is that a known problem? |
| 16:20 |
gerards |
no. the rte works just fine. |
| 16:20 |
gerards |
flo_ps: make sure that the RTE is install from the Extension manager |
| 16:21 |
flo_ps |
yep it is, also all "updates" are made |
| 16:21 |
gerards |
btw, which rte are you using? |
| 16:22 |
flo_ps |
the default htmlarea RTE |
| 16:22 |
gerards |
and i assume you tried to create a content element and it doesn't work? |
| 16:23 |
flo_ps |
yep |
| 16:24 |
flo_ps |
just add a text contentelement... |
| 16:24 |
flo_ps |
okay, maybe... |
| 16:25 |
flo_ps |
could there be a problem if the folders, like uploads, typo3conf etc.. don't have the correct permissions? |
| 16:26 |
gerards |
nah i don't think so. |
| 16:27 |
gerards |
can you go to your typoscript object browser flo_ps? |
| 16:28 |
flo_ps |
sec |
| 16:28 |
flo_ps |
yes i can |
| 16:28 |
gerards |
check that tt_content.text.20.editIcons does ahve rte_enabled. |
| 16:29 |
flo_ps |
yep it is, i think that is the checkbox on every contentelement page? |
| 16:29 |
gerards |
that too. |
| 16:30 |
flo_ps |
ahhh i got it |
| 16:31 |
gerards |
great. |
| 16:31 |
gerards |
what was the problem? |
| 16:32 |
flo_ps |
okay that was my fault ^^, i played in this installation with the chgrp command on the folders, fileadmin, typo3temp etc.. but it didn't work like i wanted to, so i made it "normal" but something happened there, not visible via shell, not with the normal command ls -ls, just recreated the folders and thats it, thx anyway gerards |
| 16:32 |
flo_ps |
ls -la |
| 16:33 |
Denyerec |
need help with a userfunc |
| 16:33 |
Denyerec |
In fact userfuncs in general. |
| 16:33 |
Denyerec |
gerards you any good with those? |
| 16:34 |
gerards |
I have some experience... |
| 16:34 |
flo_ps |
hrhr me too :P |
| 16:34 |
flo_ps |
just ask Denyerec |
| 16:34 |
Denyerec |
OK. |
| 16:34 |
Denyerec |
I am looking at this: |
| 16:35 |
Denyerec |
GVD where';s the url |
| 16:35 |
Denyerec |
1 mo |
| 16:35 |
Denyerec |
http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=4747 |
| 16:35 |
Denyerec |
Right |
| 16:35 |
Denyerec |
I'm trying to implement that as a userfunc to clean tt_news otuput. |
| 16:35 |
Denyerec |
But first I thought I'd see if I could get it to operate on a CONTENT item |
| 16:36 |
Denyerec |
Here is some TS: http://wilcoding.xs4all.nl/Wilco/Pastecode/4250/showpaste.aspx |
| 16:36 |
Denyerec |
and here is the php file so far: |
| 16:36 |
Denyerec |
http://wilcoding.xs4all.nl/Wilco/Pastecode/4251/showpaste.aspx |
| 16:37 |
Denyerec |
the die() is in there so I know it's being called, which righ tnow, it isn't. |
| 16:37 |
Denyerec |
I can see where and how $conf comes from, but I have no idea where $content comes from . |
| 16:37 |
Denyerec |
I also don't understand how to pass things around, but we'll get to that once the function is working :) |
| 16:37 |
gerards |
is your class included in includeLib? |
| 16:38 |
gerards |
includeLib = includeLibs |
| 16:38 |
flo_ps |
temp.test = USER |
| 16:38 |
flo_ps |
temp.test.userFunc= user_functions->dosomethingwithuid |
| 16:38 |
flo_ps |
temp.test { |
| 16:38 |
flo_ps |
field = uid |
| 16:38 |
flo_ps |
} |
| 16:39 |
flo_ps |
maybe that helps? |
| 16:39 |
flo_ps |
regarding the content... |
| 16:40 |
gerards |
oh wait.... content doesn't seem to have a userFunc object. |
| 16:41 |
Denyerec |
Heh |
| 16:41 |
gerards |
in fact, it doesn't seem to have a value and color too. |
| 16:41 |
Denyerec |
that would explain why it's not getting called. |
| 16:41 |
Denyerec |
I have this gerards: includeLibs.newscrop = fileadmin/template/newscrop.php |
| 16:41 |
gerards |
ok. |
| 16:42 |
gerards |
that'll do |
| 16:42 |
Denyerec |
Ok let me switch to USER |
| 16:42 |
gerards |
no, wait Denyerec |
| 16:42 |
gerards |
i think stdWrap has a post user func. |
| 16:42 |
Denyerec |
ok well USER worked. |
| 16:42 |
Denyerec |
at least it's being included |
| 16:42 |
Denyerec |
on the right content type. |
| 16:43 |
gerards |
yeah but you want to post proces the CONTENT right? |
| 16:44 |
gerards |
if so you might need to do temp.info.stdWrap.postUserFunc = user_newsCrop->main |
| 16:44 |
gerards |
tell us how you solve it, when you do. |
| 16:48 |
Denyerec |
thanks Gerards |
| 16:48 |
Denyerec |
:P |
| 16:53 |
MAWSpitau |
hi there, I have a problem with the constants-editor. Normaly I check a checkbox, where i want to change a value and press update to get an inputfield, where I can change the value. But after pressing update I do not get a textfield. I get nothing, but a entry in the constants-section of the template with the default value. I used T3 3.7 but just updated to 4.0.5 and on both versions the same problem. Does anybody has an idea?! |
| 16:54 |
MAWSpitau |
Changing the value in the Constants-Section of the template by hand does no changes in the fe. |
| 16:54 |
gerards |
is this your own extension? |
| 16:54 |
MAWSpitau |
No. |
| 16:54 |
MAWSpitau |
In ALL extensions. |
| 16:54 |
gerards |
oh? |
| 16:54 |
gerards |
wow. |
| 16:54 |
MAWSpitau |
yes. |
| 16:54 |
MAWSpitau |
oh! |
| 16:54 |
MAWSpitau |
:) |
| 16:54 |
gerards |
i'm clueless. |
| 16:54 |
MAWSpitau |
damn! |
| 16:54 |
MAWSpitau |
Do not say somthng like that! |
| 16:54 |
MAWSpitau |
;) |
| 16:55 |
MAWSpitau |
What could it be, if it was my extension? |
| 16:55 |
MAWSpitau |
(btw: Excuse my baaad english ;) ) |
| 16:55 |
gerards |
it could have been a bad constants.txt |
| 16:55 |
MAWSpitau |
mhm |
| 16:55 |
gerards |
but if its for all extensions, then i don't know. |
| 16:55 |
MAWSpitau |
k |
| 16:56 |
gerards |
especially if you manually typed it in (instead of using the constants editor) and it still doesn't work. |
| 16:56 |
gerards |
i'm totally bamboozled. |
| 16:56 |
MAWSpitau |
bamboowaht? |
| 16:56 |
MAWSpitau |
what? |
| 16:56 |
gerards |
ask Denyerec. |
| 16:56 |
MAWSpitau |
You have no idea?! |
| 16:56 |
gerards |
he's the brit around here. |
| 16:57 |
gerards |
yeah i'm confused. |
| 16:57 |
MAWSpitau |
:) |
| 16:57 |
MAWSpitau |
So, where does t3 saves my changes, could there smthng with wrong permissions in the filessystem? |
| 16:57 |
gerards |
it saves in the database. |
| 16:57 |
gerards |
(i think...) |
| 16:57 |
pulponair |
yeah |
| 16:58 |
MAWSpitau |
I think so to |
| 16:58 |
gerards |
sys_templates or soemthing. |
| 16:58 |
MAWSpitau |
okay, but it CAN write there, because it writes the default value in there |
| 16:59 |
gerards |
you SURE you have write access to taht table? |
| 16:59 |
gerards |
well you must have... |
| 16:59 |
gerards |
what am i talking about... |
| 16:59 |
pulponair |
yeah i coped the gmenu bullshit |
| 17:00 |
pulponair |
what a crap |
| 17:00 |
MAWSpitau |
yes |
| 17:01 |
MAWSpitau |
Is there a log file, where I can take a look |
| 17:01 |
MAWSpitau |
? |
| 17:01 |
gerards |
yeah sys_log table. |
| 17:01 |
MAWSpitau |
IN the table? |
| 17:01 |
MAWSpitau |
ah! |
| 17:01 |
gerards |
its a menu item on the left. |
| 17:01 |
MAWSpitau |
got |
| 17:01 |
MAWSpitau |
it... |
| 17:02 |
MAWSpitau |
yes it says I changed somthing... |
| 17:02 |
MAWSpitau |
weired |
| 17:03 |
pulponair |
for those who are interessted in the gmenue issue :http://phpfi.com/209179 |
| 17:05 |
MAWSpitau |
Looking in the typoscript object browser I got this: |
| 17:06 |
MAWSpitau |
Line 2601: On return to [GLOBAL] scope, the script was short of 1 end brace(s) |
| 17:06 |
gerards |
you forgot a } somewhere. |
| 17:06 |
MAWSpitau |
In my configuration? I never have written over 2000 lines ;) |
| 17:06 |
MAWSpitau |
I will go to take a look |
| 17:06 |
gerards |
somewhere. |
| 17:06 |
gerards |
:) |
| 17:09 |
MAWSpitau |
Indeed I die |
| 17:09 |
MAWSpitau |
gr |
| 17:09 |
MAWSpitau |
did |
| 17:09 |
MAWSpitau |
Ta taaaaa |
| 17:09 |
MAWSpitau |
Aaaand now I can change the constants.... |
| 17:10 |
Denyerec |
Call to undefined function domxml_xmltree() |
| 17:10 |
Denyerec |
WTF |
| 17:10 |
gerards |
you probably didn't compile php with dom functins. |
| 17:10 |
Denyerec |
I have php 5.2 with XML/DOM enabled |
| 17:10 |
gerards |
ok. i'm bamboozled again. :) |
| 17:10 |
MAWSpitau |
I guess, if you can read the output aaaand understang it, it could help you ;) |
| 17:11 |
MAWSpitau |
in german we say: Wer lesen kann ist klar im Vorteil. |
| 17:11 |
MAWSpitau |
thx gerards |
| 17:11 |
gerards |
np MAWSpitau |
| 17:14 |
Denyerec |
Argh |
| 17:14 |
Denyerec |
the domxml library isn't bundled with PHP5 |
| 17:14 |
Denyerec |
you have to use SImpleXML |
| 17:14 |
Denyerec |
>_< |
| 17:14 |
Denyerec |
So this feature will work on PHP4 *OR* PHP5 |
| 17:14 |
Denyerec |
but never both |
| 17:14 |
gerards |
simplexml should only be for php 5. |
| 17:15 |
gerards |
i think dom works in php4. i'm not sure. |
| 17:18 |
Ries |
Denyerec: Should be also in 5, did you install the module? |
| 17:18 |
Denyerec |
It says it's been deprecated to the PECL library or something |
| 17:18 |
gerards |
HEY! |
| 17:18 |
Denyerec |
and to use SimpleXML |
| 17:18 |
gerards |
Ries: i didn't see you come in. |
| 17:19 |
Denyerec |
But then it won't work everywhere |
| 17:19 |
Denyerec |
I have to install the PECL library |
| 17:19 |
gerards |
SimpleXML is good. |
| 17:19 |
Denyerec |
or something |
| 17:19 |
gerards |
forget about the kids using php4. |
| 17:20 |
Denyerec |
Yeah |
| 17:20 |
Denyerec |
then I have to re-code this stupid userFunc to work with SImpleXML |
| 17:20 |
Denyerec |
*AND* then it won't work on *ANY* of the sites I need it on. |
| 17:20 |
Denyerec |
Grand idea. |
| 17:20 |
Denyerec |
:/ |
| 17:20 |
gerards |
;) |
| 17:20 |
Denyerec |
Plus I don't know SimpleXML |
| 17:20 |
gerards |
never claimed to be brilliant. |
| 17:20 |
Denyerec |
I was kinda hoping I'd just be able to drop this code in and walk away |
| 17:20 |
Denyerec |
5 hours on, and I'm nowhere. |
| 17:20 |
Denyerec |
As fking usual :( |
| 17:21 |
gerards |
well. the amount of stuff that you don't know has increased during this 5 hours. |
| 17:21 |
gerards |
that's pretty productive. |
| 17:21 |
Denyerec |
Wunderbar. |
| 17:21 |
Denyerec |
All I wanna do is close broken tags in tt_news elements |
| 17:21 |
Denyerec |
and SteffenK forgot to mention how to get this working. |
| 17:21 |
Denyerec |
So I blame him |
| 17:21 |
gerards |
use Domdocument. |
| 17:22 |
gerards |
i think Domdocument works in both php4 and 5. |
| 17:22 |
Denyerec |
http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=4747 |
| 17:23 |
dax77 |
Hi Denyerec, I'm talking to SteffenK right now ;) |
| 17:23 |
Denyerec |
Slap him for me |
| 17:23 |
Denyerec |
Re: http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=4747 |
| 17:23 |
gerards |
tell him to solve all our problems! |
| 17:23 |
Denyerec |
I've been trying for hours to get some sense out of it. |
| 17:23 |
Denyerec |
And I'm nowhere. |
| 17:23 |
Denyerec |
gerards part of the problem is that if I start changing the useFunc I have to totally re-write it. |
| 17:23 |
dax77 |
aaah, our crop html :) |
| 17:24 |
Denyerec |
"our" ? |
| 17:24 |
dax77 |
Denyerec: its written by me :) |
| 17:24 |
dax77 |
hmmm |
| 17:24 |
dax77 |
do you want me to help you? |
| 17:24 |
Denyerec |
I have no idea how to implement it |
| 17:24 |
dax77 |
I've done that already |
| 17:24 |
Denyerec |
so I've been trying to get it into a stdWrap.preUserFunc |
| 17:24 |
gerards |
this is so funny. |
| 17:25 |
Denyerec |
Shush :) |
| 17:25 |
Denyerec |
dax77, help, YES! :D |
| 17:25 |
dax77 |
kneel down! |
| 17:25 |
Denyerec |
Already there. |
| 17:26 |
Denyerec |
Get your zip open already... |
| 17:26 |
Denyerec |
;P |
| 17:26 |
dax77 |
baaa |
| 17:26 |
gerards |
man... |
| 17:26 |
Denyerec |
Desperate times. |
| 17:26 |
Denyerec |
Desperate measures. |
| 17:26 |
Denyerec |
Hahaha |
| 17:27 |
Denyerec |
3Welcome to #typo3-bondage-and-depravity Where you get help for tricks! |
| 17:27 |
dax77 |
Denyerec: give me a sec, I'll paste it |
| 17:28 |
Denyerec |
OKie Dax. |
| 17:28 |
gerards |
eeew. |
| 17:28 |
Denyerec |
Thing is that if the dom tree thing doesn't work on my version, I'm still a bit stuffed :/ |
| 17:30 |
dax77 |
Denyerec: http://phpfi.com/209193 |
| 17:30 |
dax77 |
Denyerec: the dom stuff depends on your php version |
| 17:30 |
dax77 |
this is an example for php4 |
| 17:30 |
Denyerec |
Yeah I have PHP4 clients and PHP5 ones. |
| 17:30 |
Denyerec |
:S |
| 17:32 |
Denyerec |
so dax77 |
| 17:32 |
dax77 |
Denyerec: the structure should be the same, all you have to do is to change the function names |
| 17:32 |
Denyerec |
if we presume that this code works on my server (Which it won't, but lets pretend) how would I get it to operate on tt_news items ? |
| 17:33 |
Denyerec |
Right now I have this: |
| 17:33 |
Denyerec |
displayList{ |
| 17:33 |
Denyerec |
date_stdWrap.strftime = %d.%m.%y |
| 17:33 |
Denyerec |
content_stdWrap { |
| 17:33 |
Denyerec |
crop = 200 | ... | 1 |
| 17:33 |
Denyerec |
DOH |
| 17:33 |
Denyerec |
but yeah the content_stdWrap |
| 17:33 |
Denyerec |
so can I stick this in as a content_stdWrap.preUserFunc |
| 17:33 |
dax77 |
Denyerec: correct |
| 17:33 |
Denyerec |
instead of using the normal crop == 200 |
| 17:34 |
Denyerec |
right |
| 17:34 |
dax77 |
yes |
| 17:34 |
Denyerec |
and presumably send over some parameters via $conf |
| 17:34 |
Denyerec |
? |
| 17:34 |
dax77 |
this should work out of the box |
| 17:34 |
Denyerec |
On suitable servers... |
| 17:34 |
dax77 |
sure :) |
| 17:35 |
Denyerec |
Maybe today hasn't been a waste. |
| 17:35 |
Denyerec |
I've learned a lot, thinking about it. |
| 17:35 |
Denyerec |
Just frustrating to not have results!! |
| 17:35 |
dax77 |
Denyerec: you will get the results :) |
| 17:35 |
Denyerec |
Do you know any way to process XML on PHP4 and 5 ? |
| 17:36 |
Denyerec |
or am I gonna have to have two userfuncs, one for each |
| 17:36 |
dax77 |
how do you want to process it? |
| 17:36 |
gerards |
Denyerec the standard dom xml functions should work right dax77? |
| 17:36 |
Denyerec |
Well your function dies on my server |
| 17:36 |
Denyerec |
Fatal error: Call to undefined function domxml_xmltree() |
| 17:36 |
dax77 |
thats the way I'm doing it with the htmlcrop function |
| 17:36 |
Denyerec |
Because the domxml_ stuff was removed from PHP5 |
| 17:37 |
gerards |
REALLY? |
| 17:37 |
dax77 |
correct |
| 17:37 |
Denyerec |
Yah. |
| 17:37 |
gerards |
man. |
| 17:37 |
Denyerec |
It was shifted to a PEAR lib, and SimpleXML is now the "standard" |
| 17:37 |
gerards |
well i always use simpleXML. so... I recommend that. |
| 17:38 |
gerards |
Denyerec: bundle the pear lib with your extensino. |
| 17:38 |
Denyerec |
Hahaha |
| 17:38 |
Denyerec |
if it's a simple 1 file include, I'll just figure out how to include it in the site TS |
| 17:38 |
dax77 |
if you guys could include a switch for php5 this patch could get a higher chance on getting into the core ;) |
| 17:38 |
gerards |
;) |
| 17:39 |
Denyerec |
dax, if you want me to re-write is using simpleXML I can try |
| 17:39 |
gerards |
eeewwww. vesion switches... |
| 17:39 |
Denyerec |
having a hard enough time understanding your code tho :/ |
| 17:39 |
gerards |
see ya all. lunch time. |
| 17:39 |
dax77 |
Denyerec: its almost a complete copy&paste from php.net |
| 17:39 |
Denyerec |
actually |
| 17:40 |
Denyerec |
yeah |
| 17:40 |
dax77 |
bon appetit gerards |
| 17:40 |
Denyerec |
I was just confused by recursiv() |
| 17:40 |
Denyerec |
but it's unused |
| 17:40 |
gerards |
gracie |
| 17:41 |
dax77 |
Denyerec: sorry, that was a leftover |
| 17:41 |
Denyerec |
I figured :) |
| 17:41 |
dax77 |
its been a while since I wrote those lines |
| 17:42 |
dax77 |
...copied them ;) |
| 17:47 |
Denyerec |
dax |
| 17:47 |
Denyerec |
One issue |
| 17:47 |
Denyerec |
If I added SimpleXML to that hack |
| 17:48 |
Denyerec |
Then it'd fail on PHP4 systems |
| 17:48 |
Denyerec |
even if it was in a conditional |
| 17:48 |
Denyerec |
you'd get syntax/parse errors because of the unknown function names. |
| 17:48 |
dax77 |
oh it does? |
| 17:48 |
Denyerec |
well it would wouldn't it ? |
| 17:48 |
Denyerec |
Cos PHP4 has no idea what simpleXML is |
| 17:48 |
Denyerec |
so if you call simpleXML() even in a non-executed branch, it'd die |
| 17:49 |
dax77 |
it should only run through it when its called |
| 17:50 |
dax77 |
so it will only get called if php5 is running |
| 17:50 |
dax77 |
Denyerec: i have to go now |
| 17:54 |
Ries |
Denyerec: check php.net and see if it was supported for that fucntion |
| 17:56 |
pulponair |
i gotta go by folks |
| 18:05 |
Denyerec |
Mm |
| 18:06 |
Denyerec |
If this is my userfunc: tv.fpttnews.10.1.displayList.content_stdWrap.postUserFunc |
| 18:06 |
Denyerec |
then how do I set the conf vars? |
| 18:06 |
Denyerec |
tv.fpttnews.10.1.displayList.content_stdWrap.confVar1 etc ? |
| 18:22 |
gerards |
Denyerec i think its postUserFunc.myvar= yeah |
| 18:26 |
Denyerec |
Hmm |
| 18:30 |
Denyerec |
gerards do you have PHP4 |
| 18:30 |
Denyerec |
? |
| 18:30 |
gerards |
php5 i have. |
| 18:30 |
Denyerec |
I want to include that PHP4 libaray but can't find it to download :( |
| 18:31 |
Denyerec |
http://pecl.php.net/get/domxml |
| 18:31 |
Denyerec |
:( |
| 18:34 |
gerards |
Denyerec: i thought you said it was in the pecl somehwere? |
| 18:34 |
Denyerec |
Allegedly |
| 18:34 |
Denyerec |
I can't find it |
| 18:34 |
Denyerec |
and the URL I *can* find |
| 18:34 |
Denyerec |
is this: |
| 18:34 |
Denyerec |
http://pecl.php.net/get/domxml |
| 18:34 |
Denyerec |
Heh. |
| 18:34 |
Denyerec |
How wonderrfully useful. |
| 18:36 |
gerards |
try ubuntu's apt-get. |
| 18:36 |
Denyerec |
thing is |
| 18:36 |
Denyerec |
I can't possibly rely on a serverside thing |
| 18:37 |
Denyerec |
Too many configurations |
| 18:37 |
Denyerec |
if it doesn't work on the default installation then I can't use it. |
| 18:37 |
gerards |
i see your point. |
| 18:37 |
Denyerec |
So my only option is to re-write the function with PHP5 stuff. |
| 18:37 |
Denyerec |
:( |
| 18:37 |
gerards |
i guess you have to write one module for php4 and one for php5. |
| 18:47 |
roelof |
hello, i made this structure with this TS (http://phpfi.com/209279), but why doesn't it work ? |
| 18:50 |
Denyerec |
gerards I am almost there!!! |
| 18:50 |
gerards |
good fer you. |
| 18:51 |
Denyerec |
Except I've got a DTD and <body> tags wrapped around my output |
| 18:51 |
gerards |
simpleXML is easy right? |
| 18:51 |
Denyerec |
if I can just figure out a way to display only the contents of <body> |
| 18:51 |
Denyerec |
not event hat |
| 18:51 |
Denyerec |
the code is absurdly simple |
| 18:51 |
Denyerec |
but I just need to snatch the contents of the <body> node |
| 18:51 |
Denyerec |
http://php.benscom.com/manual/en/ref.dom.php |
| 18:51 |
Denyerec |
using that. |
| 18:51 |
gerards |
i always use simlpeX |
| 18:51 |
gerards |
once u use simpleX, there's no going back. |
| 18:51 |
Denyerec |
this is my code so far: |
| 18:52 |
Denyerec |
http://wilcoding.xs4all.nl/Wilco/Pastecode/4252/showpaste.aspx |
| 18:52 |
Denyerec |
:D |
| 18:52 |
gerards |
you say to yourself, da 'ell with them php4 kiddies. |
| 18:52 |
Denyerec |
check out my 3 line wonder. |
| 18:52 |
gerards |
you should try simpleXML. |
| 18:52 |
gerards |
i think its a little easier than domdoc. |
| 18:52 |
Denyerec |
Dude |
| 18:52 |
Denyerec |
3 lines. |
| 18:52 |
gerards |
but domdoc is fantastic too. |
| 18:52 |
Denyerec |
How does it get easier? |
| 18:52 |
Denyerec |
;) |
| 18:53 |
gerards |
who cares about php4? ;D |
| 19:01 |
roelof |
anyone who can help me ? |
| 19:10 |
Denyerec |
gerards if i have my HTML now as a simpleXML object, how do I render that to a string |
| 19:10 |
Denyerec |
IE serialise it |
| 19:10 |
gerards |
i think its saveXML() |
| 19:10 |
gerards |
$simplexml_obj->saveXML(); |
| 19:11 |
gerards |
tell me if i'm wrong... |
| 19:11 |
gerards |
but that's simpleXML. i think DomDocument is a little different... |
| 19:12 |
gerards |
roelof: i think your ts a little wrong. |
| 19:12 |
Denyerec |
http://uk2.php.net/manual/en/function.dom-domdocument-savexml.php |
| 19:12 |
Denyerec |
savexml doesn't appear to exist for simpleXML |
| 19:12 |
gerards |
lemme check. |
| 19:14 |
gerards |
try this http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.simplexml-element-asXML.php |
| 19:15 |
gerards |
roelof: http://phpfi.com/209315 |
| 19:15 |
gerards |
try that... |
| 19:15 |
Denyerec |
undef function |
| 19:15 |
Denyerec |
ah |
| 19:15 |
Denyerec |
my bad |
| 19:16 |
Denyerec |
NOpe |
| 19:16 |
Denyerec |
death |
| 19:16 |
gerards |
oh? |
| 19:16 |
Denyerec |
well |
| 19:16 |
Denyerec |
it dumps the whole simpleXML doc. |
| 19:17 |
Denyerec |
and I need just what's inside the <body> |
| 19:17 |
gerards |
don't you want that? |
| 19:17 |
gerards |
can you try $mysimplexml_obj->body->asXML() |
| 19:17 |
gerards |
? |
| 19:18 |
Denyerec |
ah |
| 19:18 |
Denyerec |
FOrgot I was working with objects |
| 19:18 |
Denyerec |
>_< |
| 19:19 |
Denyerec |
Mmm |
| 19:19 |
Denyerec |
*almost |
| 19:19 |
gerards |
i take it it works. |
| 19:19 |
Denyerec |
That gives me <body> what I want </body> |
| 19:19 |
Denyerec |
now I just need to lose the <body> tags |
| 19:19 |
gerards |
tough. |
| 19:20 |
Denyerec |
spose I can foreach through body and asXMl each subnode |
| 19:20 |
gerards |
yes |
| 19:20 |
gerards |
i was just typing that out in phpfi. |
| 19:21 |
gerards |
http://phpfi.com/209325 |
| 19:23 |
Denyerec |
bingo |
| 19:23 |
gerards |
don't you just love php5? |
| 19:23 |
Denyerec |
Now the issue... |
| 19:23 |
Denyerec |
charsets |
| 19:23 |
Denyerec |
>_< |
| 19:24 |
Denyerec |
my chars were coming out as A with a thing on the, |
| 19:24 |
Denyerec |
 |
| 19:24 |
gerards |
i don't understand... |
| 19:24 |
Denyerec |
Me either. |
| 19:24 |
Denyerec |
WHen I saved as XML to well-form the string, it nuked my charset. |
| 19:25 |
gerards |
well then your file is not utf8 |
| 19:25 |
Denyerec |
*string |
| 19:25 |
gerards |
the file that you save the xml string is not utf8 that is. |
| 19:25 |
Denyerec |
mmm. |
| 19:25 |
gerards |
wait a minute what am i talking about.... |
| 19:26 |
Denyerec |
I don't kno. |
| 19:26 |
gerards |
my point is, simplexml is utf8 aware. |
| 19:26 |
gerards |
it must be somewhere else that the weird characters are misread/miswritten. |
| 19:26 |
Denyerec |
Yeah, but I don't think that the other domdoc is. |
| 19:26 |
Denyerec |
here's the code |
| 19:27 |
Denyerec |
http://phpfi.com/209329 |
| 19:27 |
gerards |
seems ok. |
| 19:27 |
Denyerec |
http://phpfi.com/209331 |
| 19:27 |
Denyerec |
evne |
| 19:27 |
Denyerec |
Yeah |
| 19:28 |
Denyerec |
well I think |
| 19:28 |
Denyerec |
@DOMDocument::loadHTML |
| 19:28 |
Denyerec |
is exploding things. |
| 19:28 |
Denyerec |
By causing some charset collision. |
| 19:28 |
gerards |
maybe. why do you use DOMDocument? |
| 19:28 |
Denyerec |
Because DomDocument has an auto-clean. |
| 19:28 |
Denyerec |
If your HTML doc is malformed, it fixes it. |
| 19:28 |
Denyerec |
closes all tags etc. |
| 19:29 |
gerards |
does simplexml_load_file not have autoclean? |
| 19:29 |
Denyerec |
so if you CROP halfway through a list, it'll terminate the <a> and such |
| 19:29 |
Denyerec |
gerards - I do not know. |
| 19:29 |
gerards |
hmmm... i'm surprised that domdocument accepts mal-formed html... |
| 19:30 |
roelof |
Gerards, sorry for my late responds, but your suggestion makes no difference |
| 19:31 |
gerards |
ahh... |
| 19:31 |
gerards |
sorry. |
| 19:31 |
gerards |
can't help then. |
| 19:31 |
gerards |
roelof: can you try placeing page = PAGE |
| 19:31 |
gerards |
page.typeNum = 0 |
| 19:31 |
gerards |
page.10 = USER |
| 19:31 |
gerards |
page.10.userFunc = tx_templavoila_pi1->main_page above lib.titel? |
| 19:31 |
roelof |
does anyone know if you can map a <span> ? |
| 19:33 |
gerards |
roelof: are you talking about tv? |
| 19:33 |
gerards |
in tv you can map anything with an id attribute (i think) |
| 19:33 |
roelof |
yep, im talking about TV |
| 19:35 |
Denyerec |
Grrr |
| 19:35 |
roelof |
Hmm, nothing happens with the <span> tag, the title is still under <csc-header> instead of <span id="header"> |
| 19:43 |
voidus |
who can point me to an anolog of $_ENV['_'] for windows? :) |
| 19:48 |
Denyerec |
I don't know what that is |
| 19:48 |
Denyerec |
but if you want to get at your environment variables it's in the same place as "system restore" and that crap |
| 19:48 |
Denyerec |
BLoody RTE |
| 19:48 |
Denyerec |
Bloody sodding stupid peice of shit RTE |
| 19:49 |
Denyerec |
It's throwing in <p> tags like they're going out of fashion |
| 19:49 |
uschi |
Denyerec, are you trying to ride the bull? |
| 19:49 |
Denyerec |
and then tt_news wraps the news in <p class="bodytext"> |
| 19:49 |
Denyerec |
So it NEVER validates |
| 19:49 |
voidus |
Denyerec: lib.parseFunc_RTE. |
| 19:49 |
Denyerec |
>_< |
| 19:49 |
uschi |
this is not the fault of RTE but of tt_news |
| 19:49 |
Denyerec |
voidus do you not think that the DEFAULT behaviour would be, ohh I don't know, to generate VALID MARKUP ? |
| 19:50 |
Denyerec |
so tt_news has a wrap function on the news items |
| 19:50 |
uschi |
Denyerec, this is something i would really appreciate |
| 19:50 |
voidus |
Denyerec: <p class="bodytext" is an invalid markup? |
| 19:50 |
uschi |
no, but it superfluous |
| 19:50 |
Denyerec |
it is when it wraps round the <p> tags generated by the RTE |
| 19:50 |
uschi |
but that stuff is inside css_styled_content as well |
| 19:51 |
Denyerec |
<p class="bodytext"><p> stuff </p></p> is invalid |
| 19:51 |
uschi |
oops, that really is invalid, but again not the fault of the rte |
| 19:51 |
voidus |
it's fault of lib.parseFunc_RTE |
| 19:51 |
uschi |
you do have css_styled_content activated, right |
| 19:51 |
uschi |
right, there is the bugger |
| 19:52 |
uschi |
it is the transformation stuff, that fucks everything up |
| 19:59 |
Denyerec |
I wrote this: |
| 19:59 |
Denyerec |
http://wilcoding.xs4all.nl/Wilco/Pastecode/4253/showpaste.aspx |
| 19:59 |
Denyerec |
that lets you get away without the bodytext thing. |
| 19:59 |
Denyerec |
but I don't know how to implement it on my tt_news content |
| 19:59 |
Denyerec |
or if it's sane |
| 20:03 |
Denyerec |
Meh |
| 20:04 |
Denyerec |
doesn't look like I can find the tt_news renderobj anyway |
| 20:04 |
Denyerec |
:( |
| 20:08 |
Denyerec |
I can't find a renderObj in the tt_news docs |
| 20:08 |
Denyerec |
voidus - any advice? |
| 20:09 |
voidus |
Denyerec: tt_content contains only tt_news plugin. plugin has no "bodytext" field. |
| 20:10 |
voidus |
i think you need plugin.tt_news.general_stdWrap |
| 20:10 |
Denyerec |
Hmm |
| 20:12 |
Denyerec |
HAJRTHSJHGFJKDHKFJS |
| 20:12 |
Denyerec |
ARRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHH |
| 20:12 |
Denyerec |
FRIGGING SODDING BLOODY NIGHTMARE BODYTEXT |
| 20:12 |
Denyerec |
just PISS OFF OUT OF MY SOURCE |
| 20:12 |
Denyerec |
I'm angry now. |
| 20:12 |
Denyerec |
8 hours in. |
| 20:12 |
Denyerec |
:( |
| 20:13 |
Denyerec |
To fix something that shouldn't be a bug in the first place. |

andreasbalzer |
hi! I have a problem with my website.. I have my page on ?type=0. My css is ?type=1. My css is loaded for every page via TSC, but in FE I get a 404 on ?type=1 if i'm not logged in into BE. Any idea, what happens there? |
| 20:36 |
andreasbalzer |
so ess-erfurt.de/?id=2&type=0 works |
| 20:36 |
andreasbalzer |
the css: ess-erfurt.de/?id=2&type=2 |
| 20:37 |
andreasbalzer |
ess-erfurt.de/?id=2&type=1 works too |
| 20:37 |
andreasbalzer |
ess-erfurt.de/?id=1&type=1 doesn't.. |
| 20:58 |
titii |
hello, i need to help, can user created in BE; without admin mode checked editing menu structure for example? cause i see not |
| 20:58 |
andreasbalzer |
titii: do you speak German? |
| 20:59 |
titii |
andreasbalzer no, sorry.. can you speak english? or you cant understand me? |
| 20:59 |
andreasbalzer |
anyway... you have to create a group and assign every user to that group and then go to access module and assign each page to that group with all rights, then you'll see, that it should work :) |
| 21:01 |
titii |
andreasbalzer and without groups its impossible?? cause i would to try permissions on one user for first |
| 21:01 |
andreasbalzer |
well, you can do it without groups too |
| 21:01 |
andreasbalzer |
titii:just go to Access module and open your root page |
| 21:02 |
uschi |
so is uschi |
| 21:02 |
j0hndeere |
today a "I hate TYPO3" day, Denyerec? :( |
| 21:02 |
uschi |
Denyerec what's wrong? |
| 21:02 |
Denyerec |
Specifically I hate ttn_news |
| 21:02 |
andreasbalzer |
titii: then go to the rights section of the access module |
| 21:02 |
Denyerec |
Stupid <p class="bodytext"> |
| 21:02 |
titii |
andreasbalzer aah ok i go to see.. and the other like functions have permissions also? or need to access? |
| 21:02 |
Denyerec |
I can remove it from normal CONTENT elements using a renderObj |
| 21:02 |
andreasbalzer |
and you'll see a table with many checkboxes. See the col 'All'? Select all checkboxes there |
| 21:02 |
Denyerec |
but I don't know how to remove it from the tt_news |
| 21:02 |
uschi |
in your normal content, you do not have this attribute? |
| 21:03 |
gerards |
Denyerec why can 't you just parse out the attributes? |
| 21:03 |
uschi |
there is a solution for this |
| 21:03 |
gerards |
parseHTML can get rid of the attribute for you. |
| 21:03 |
uschi |
gerards, not necessary, wait, i will try to find out |
| 21:03 |
Denyerec |
tv.fpttnews.10.1.displayList.content_stdWrap.parseFunc.nonTypoTagStdWrap.encapsLines > |
| 21:03 |
gerards |
sure. |
| 21:03 |
andreasbalzer |
titii: it doesn't matter what functions you use (that has to be done in your BE user config), it only matters, where you do them.. |
| 21:03 |
Denyerec |
Normally it's fine to have the bodytext thing as it stops floating text in CEs |
| 21:03 |
Denyerec |
just in specific ones |
| 21:04 |
uschi |
yes, but if you just copy something into something everything works as for tt_content |
| 21:04 |
Denyerec |
I don't even know if content_stdWrap *has* a parseFunc |
| 21:04 |
gerards |
hmmmm good question. |
| 21:04 |
gerards |
i think a parseFunc is the easiest way to go. |
| 21:05 |
uschi |
hm, what do you mean by "it stops floating content" |
| 21:05 |
gerards |
parseFuncs have a tags object that lets your rmove some tags and/or attributes (i think) |
| 21:05 |
titii |
andreasbalzer aaah ok... now i am in access module a i have a some tree of my menu tree ... |
| 21:05 |
Denyerec |
this is how I fix content objects: |
| 21:05 |
Denyerec |
http://wilcoding.xs4all.nl/Wilco/Pastecode/4254/showpaste.aspx |
| 21:05 |
titii |
andreasbalzer there is owner admin... |
| 21:05 |
Denyerec |
so if I could get that to apply to the tt_news I'd be laughing |
| 21:06 |
titii |
andreasbalzer aaaah i see, i must to create gruop because of i cant select 2 users, just one, or one user |
| 21:07 |
andreasbalzer |
titii: click on that pencil icon for your root page |
| 21:07 |
andreasbalzer |
if there's no, click on the page |
| 21:07 |
andreasbalzer |
do you see 3 rows in a table then with user, group and all? |
| 21:07 |
andreasbalzer |
if not: you'll see a drop down at the top right of that module |
| 21:08 |
titii |
andreasbalzer yes, Owner Group Everybody Lock |
| 21:08 |
andreasbalzer |
right. select all checkboxes in that everybody row and then recurrence as high as possible.. |
| 21:09 |
uschi |
Denyerec |
| 21:09 |
uschi |
have a look into ./typo3/ext/tt_news/static/ts_new/setup.txt |
| 21:09 |
titii |
andreasbalzer but where? cause i cant see any checkboxes? |
| 21:09 |
uschi |
the solution must be somewhere there |
| 21:10 |
uschi |
and please keep me informed |
| 21:10 |
andreasbalzer |
titii: is there a pencil somewhere? ;) |
| 21:10 |
titii |
andreasbalzer i see the pencil - Change permission, would to klik on root page? |

uschi |
i have heard of this problem before |
| 21:10 |
Denyerec |
# Rendering of news items. re-use the RTE parseFunc configuration for normal content |
| 21:10 |
Denyerec |
general_stdWrap { |
| 21:10 |
Denyerec |
parseFunc < tt_content.text.20.parseFunc |
| 21:10 |
Denyerec |
} |
| 21:10 |
andreasbalzer |
titii:yes |
| 21:11 |
titii |
andreasbalzer ok and now, i can select both users, admin and one of mine users |
| 21:11 |
titii |
andreasbalzer sorry i cant |
| 21:11 |
andreasbalzer |
isn't there "all" or "everybody"? |
| 21:11 |
andreasbalzer |
if not: is there a drop down menu at the top right? |
| 21:12 |
andreasbalzer |
(i'm trying to get into my T3 ;) ) |
| 21:12 |
titii |
andreasbalzer you dont need :)) yes i see it now |
| 21:12 |
andreasbalzer |
ok :) |
| 21:13 |
titii |
if i set to everybody all permission, that affect for BE users only, is that true? |
| 21:14 |
voidus |
titii: yes |
| 21:15 |
andreasbalzer |
titii: but just as an information: it'll has to be reconfigured as soon as you want to use workspaces |
| 21:15 |
Denyerec |
ARGH |
| 21:15 |
Denyerec |
I give up. |
| 21:16 |
Denyerec |
uschi |
| 21:16 |
Denyerec |
Here's my TS: |
| 21:16 |
Denyerec |
http://wilcoding.xs4all.nl/Wilco/Pastecode/4255/showpaste.aspx |
| 21:16 |
Denyerec |
And the bodytext just will not leave me alone :( |
| 21:16 |
titii |
andreasbalzer ok i got it. now i go to check it... workspaces i dont use it at yet |
| 21:16 |
Denyerec |
back in a short while. |
| 21:16 |
Denyerec |
Need to take a breather. |
| 21:16 |
andreasbalzer |
titii: ok |
| 21:19 |
uschi |
merci, Denyerec :)) |
| 21:20 |
uschi |
what does htmlCrop.php do? |
| 21:20 |
titii |
andreasbalzer still i cant see the page tree .. hmm |
| 21:20 |
uschi |
this is the file from bugtracker yesterday, Denyerec ? |
| 21:20 |
Denyerec |
sort of |
| 21:20 |
Denyerec |
brb |
| 21:21 |
andreasbalzer |
titii: did you assign a database mount? |
| 21:21 |
uschi |
i will come back to you when we are working on tt_news |
| 21:22 |
titii |
andreasbalzer, do how to do that? |
| 21:23 |
andreasbalzer |
list module > BE user > database mount |
| 21:35 |
titii |
andreasbalzer hmm, i found some selectbox where is many items, and also DB Mounts, but no one selected actualy.. is it? |
| 21:37 |
titii |
??? |
| 21:45 |
titii |
andreasbalzer i insert the rootlevel into DB Mounts selectbox, but its nor for sublevel also.-. just for one page? |
| 21:48 |
titii |
can anybody help? |
| 21:55 |
Ries |
Denyerec: Afterall I decided to buy a Samsung syncmaster as a second monitor |
| 21:57 |
titii |
ries helo, can you help with user BE permissions? i need to acces him my exist menu tree, cause i cant see it as logged |
| 21:59 |
titii |
i heard something with DB mount, but how to set it? i founs one selectbox, where i can choose root level of a tree, but dont work also |
| 21:59 |
Ries |
titii: check be groups, and select access groups |
| 22:00 |
titii |
Ries i havent usergroups, just access to everybody.. and now? |
| 22:02 |
Ries |
you need to have a BE user |
| 22:02 |
Ries |
be group to have a be user |
| 22:02 |
Denyerec |
uschi I have returned |
| 22:03 |
Denyerec |
but I am still not happy. |
| 22:03 |
uschi |
why not? |
| 22:03 |
uschi |
does not work? |
| 22:03 |
Denyerec |
because tt_news is still broken. |
| 22:03 |
Denyerec |
And I am running out of both ideas and energy. |
| 22:03 |
uschi |
hm |
| 22:04 |
uschi |
as i told you, i am not into tt_news, but i am into those bloody transformations |
| 22:04 |
titii |
Ries i have BE user ofcourse, but not any Group.. i set the permissions where is Owner Group Everybody ... i set for 1st page at root level to access for Everybody, but it asigned just for that one page, not of each sublevels (all menu tree items) |
| 22:05 |
Ries |
titii: did you set a DB mount mount? |
| 22:05 |
titii |
Ries now. how to do that? thanx |
| 22:05 |
titii |
Ries no |
| 22:05 |
Ries |
it's in the same form where you can configure a be user or be group |
| 22:06 |
titii |
Ries Tools, User Admin? |
| 22:06 |
Ries |
list -> |
| 22:07 |
uschi |
Denyerec, have you checked what your content looks like in the database? |
| 22:07 |
Denyerec |
Hmm |
| 22:07 |
uschi |
is it ok there? |
| 22:07 |
Denyerec |
Actually no. |
| 22:07 |
titii |
Ries hmm and where can i find DB Mount |
| 22:07 |
Denyerec |
But in the RTE the sourcecode is fine. |
| 22:07 |
Denyerec |
I will look now. |
| 22:08 |
uschi |
do so, this helps to find out which transformation spoiles the code |
| 22:08 |
Ries |
titii: it's there where, really |
| 22:08 |
uschi |
then it looks very much like a problem of transformation problem db->rte |
| 22:09 |
titii |
Ries it is in some selectbox where is many items, like Username, Password, Gruop, Lock to Mount, DBMounts, Email .... and so on? is it? |
| 22:09 |
Ries |
there you go DB MOUNTS |
| 22:09 |
titii |
Ries and button Set fields |
| 22:10 |
Denyerec |
uschi in the database there are no P tags at all. |
| 22:10 |
Denyerec |
So tt_news is wrapping things with P tags *AND* the bloody <p class=bodytext"> |
| 22:11 |
uschi |
ok, then we know where we know at least that it is the way from tt_news to frontend |
| 22:11 |
Denyerec |
This is true. |
| 22:11 |
uschi |
from db to fe i mean |
| 22:11 |
uschi |
there was a note in the doku of the rte |
| 22:11 |
Denyerec |
now the tt_news setup TS says this: # Rendering of news items. re-use the RTE parseFunc configuration for normal content |
| 22:11 |
Denyerec |
general_stdWrap { |
| 22:11 |
Denyerec |
parseFunc < tt_content.text.20.parseFunc |
| 22:11 |
Denyerec |
} |
| 22:12 |
titii |
Ries dammet i still cant see the page tree by another user as logged |
| 22:12 |
Denyerec |
that is under plugin.tt_news.general_stdWrap |
| 22:12 |
uschi |
general_stdWrap ist a tt_news-thingy, right |
| 22:12 |
Denyerec |
Yeha |
| 22:12 |
Ries |
did you set a DB mount mount? |
| 22:13 |
titii |
Ries i dont know, ijust sect that item in selctbox, now i see Backend user (2) [Ref] DB Mounts: .... |
| 22:14 |
Denyerec |
uschi!!!!!!!! |
| 22:14 |
uschi |
RTE.config.tt_news.bodytext.proc < RTE.default.proc |
| 22:15 |
uschi |
i am searching my handwritten notes |
| 22:15 |
Denyerec |
I got it |
| 22:15 |
Denyerec |
I nuked the bastard |
| 22:15 |
Denyerec |
:D |
| 22:15 |
uschi |
where did he hide? |
| 22:15 |
Denyerec |
I shall show you |
| 22:15 |
uschi |
yes please |
| 22:15 |
Denyerec |
http://wilcoding.xs4all.nl/Wilco/Pastecode/4256/showpaste.aspx |
| 22:15 |
Denyerec |
the last 3 lines |
| 22:16 |
uschi |
ok, thx |
| 22:16 |
Denyerec |
Oh *MAN* that was pissing me off |
| 22:16 |
Denyerec |
I'd hug tobi too, but he left hours ago. |
| 22:16 |
Denyerec |
:D |
| 22:16 |
uschi |
he is finally happy again |
| 22:17 |
Denyerec |
Ok, now I've fixed that I can't remember what the hell I was doing beforehand!! |
| 22:17 |
titii |
Denyerec Tobis sleeping? :) |
| 22:17 |
Denyerec |
Oh man I hate that.... :S |
| 22:17 |
uschi |
for me that means i need the first two lines |
| 22:18 |
uschi |
because i adapted the encapslines stuff to my needs |
| 22:18 |
uschi |
but i still do not know what you meant when you said <p class="bodytext"> prevents floating text |
| 22:20 |
uschi |
and there is something i do not understand |
| 22:20 |
uschi |
in your ts |
| 22:20 |
titii |
men its possible to useing phpBB user registration with typo3 frontend users? |
| 22:20 |
uschi |
what is tv.ftpnews, Denyerec ? |
| 22:21 |
Denyerec |
my TSOP for the frontpage news. |
| 22:21 |
uschi |
i do not know the prefix tv |
| 22:21 |
uschi |
TSOP??? |
| 22:21 |
Denyerec |
it's just how I prefix all TemplaVoila Typoscript Object Paths |
| 22:21 |
uschi |
you are talking in riddles |
| 22:21 |
Denyerec |
so I know where they have come from |
| 22:21 |
uschi |
ah, so they do not need to be prefixed lib? |
| 22:22 |
uschi |
it is just a convention? |
| 22:27 |
Denyerec |
Just a convention. |
| 22:27 |
Denyerec |
I call my TSOP's tv.something so I know when I see in the TS something called tv. that it's mine and it maps to part of the template. |
| 22:29 |
uschi |
what are tsops? |
| 22:29 |
uschi |
ah so, object path, sorry |
| 22:30 |
uschi |
i do not know what to do with this problem of mine yesterday |
| 22:32 |
Denyerec |
I say you shake Ries until he gives up. |
| 22:32 |
uschi |
Ries said he is quite busy |
| 22:32 |
uschi |
yesterday |
| 22:32 |
Denyerec |
yeah, though I'm sure if you shake him hard enough... |
| 22:33 |
uschi |
shaking Ries *g* |
| 22:33 |
Denyerec |
I remember what it was I was fixing... |
| 22:33 |
uschi |
shake Ries, shake Ries |
| 22:33 |
Denyerec |
It was the .crop causing broken HTML |
| 22:33 |
uschi |
yes |
| 22:33 |
Denyerec |
EG if you crop a news article halfway the markup breaks. |
| 22:33 |
Denyerec |
Well dax and voidus had some solution. |
| 22:33 |
Denyerec |
but it doesn't work in PHP5. |
| 22:33 |
uschi |
yes i read of your prob |
| 22:33 |
uschi |
shit |
| 22:33 |
Denyerec |
Well I wrote some code that works in PHP5.... but OMG is it ugly. |
| 22:34 |
uschi |
hm, cannot you make it beautiful? |
| 22:34 |
Denyerec |
Let me show you. |
| 22:34 |
Denyerec |
BEWARE though |
| 22:34 |
Denyerec |
it might cause you to pass out |
| 22:35 |
Denyerec |
http://wilcoding.xs4all.nl/Wilco/Pastecode/4257/showpaste.aspx |
| 22:36 |
uschi |
and whot about nested nodes? |
| 22:37 |
Denyerec |
The dom fixing seems to magically sort it all out. |
| 22:37 |
Denyerec |
$dom->formatOutput = true; |
| 22:37 |
Denyerec |
That seems to just auto-magic it into form |
| 22:37 |
uschi |
great and nice |
| 22:37 |
Denyerec |
Can't say as it's very efficient code to invoke both the DomDocument and SImpleXML |
| 22:38 |
uschi |
does not look to ugly to me |
| 22:38 |
Denyerec |
I'm sure someone who knows what they're doing with DomDocument could fix it |
| 22:38 |
uschi |
actually i decided to move to php5 because i find simplexml attractive |
| 22:39 |
uschi |
but i have not played around with it yet |
| 22:39 |
uschi |
i do not code anything these last twelve months |
| 22:40 |
uschi |
did |
| 22:40 |
Denyerec |
Me either |
| 22:40 |
Denyerec |
I'm so out of touch |
| 22:40 |
Denyerec |
just playing with silly small Typo3 sites. |
| 22:40 |
Denyerec |
Hmm. I cannot see the Constants Editor. |
| 22:40 |
uschi |
hihi |
| 22:40 |
Denyerec |
This is a problem... |
| 22:40 |
uschi |
hm |
| 22:41 |
uschi |
where shoud it show up? |
| 22:41 |
uschi |
forgot how to get there |
| 22:41 |
uschi |
i have never been using it |
| 22:42 |
uschi |
ok, found it again |
| 22:42 |
Denyerec |
Yhae |
| 22:42 |
Denyerec |
it'son the dropdown in the Template module,. |
| 22:43 |
Denyerec |
And yet for some reason on the site I am working on... |
| 22:43 |
Denyerec |
...it's not ther |
| 22:43 |
Denyerec |
e |
| 22:43 |
esokoll |
because yor are not on a page wich has a template ;) |
| 22:44 |
uschi |
this must be it :) |
| 22:48 |
Denyerec |
Sadly not. |
| 22:48 |
Denyerec |
Luckily I know which constant I need to change. |
| 22:48 |
Denyerec |
But still.... weird. |
| 22:50 |
esokoll |
sorry I was wrong... the Constant Editor shows up even if there is no template. |
| 22:51 |
esokoll |
just select in the left column under "Web" the entry "Template"... |
| 22:51 |
esokoll |
...on the upper right you will find a dropdownlist. chane to Constant editor |
| 22:51 |
Denyerec |
Yeah |
| 22:51 |
Denyerec |
and I'm sayin |
| 22:52 |
Denyerec |
that I see Info/Modify |
| 22:52 |
Denyerec |
Object browser |
| 22:52 |
Denyerec |
and the other one. |
| 22:52 |
Denyerec |
and NO Constant Editor. |
| 22:52 |
Denyerec |
I know where it should be, I use it on my other sites. |
| 22:52 |
Denyerec |
but for some reason on this one... it's not there. |
| 22:52 |
esokoll |
could it be you are not admin? |
| 22:53 |
Denyerec |
I am the admin, sadly. |
| 22:53 |
esokoll |
sorry.. just entered some inutes ago and did not get teh beginning |
| 22:54 |
FloLeBlanc |
hi all |
| 22:54 |
esokoll |
hi |
| 22:55 |
Denyerec |
It's ok esokoll |
| 22:55 |
FloLeBlanc |
I created a usergroup for page editing, and everything works except the usergroup cannot resize pictures (the options are not available) any clues? |
| 22:55 |
esokoll |
@Denyerec -- do you belong to any BE group |
| 22:55 |
esokoll |
are you member of any BE group? |
| 22:56 |
esokoll |
for this click the checkboxes "member of group" at the user settings |
| 22:58 |
Denyerec |
I'm the admin, as in SU |
| 22:58 |
esokoll |
In groupsettings you normaly disabel columns you do not need. Maybe Constant editor is disabled by this way |
| 22:59 |
esokoll |
anyway... for eample mod { SHARED.colPos_list = 0,2 } will disable colums even if you are admin |
| 23:01 |
esokoll |
dont know if its possible to switch off Contant Editor by this way (never tryed it) but it woul worth to have a look |
| 23:01 |
FloLeBlanc |
nvm |
| 23:08 |
tansta |
does anyone know how to increase the limits of file that can be uploaded to TYPO3 ? |
| 23:10 |
ralze |
size limits? |
| 23:10 |
esokoll |
@Denyerec: any outcomes? |
| 23:11 |
tansta |
oh yeah :) |
| 23:11 |
tansta |
hehehe |
| 23:12 |
ralze |
tansta: hmm. tried php.ini? |
| 23:13 |
tansta |
ralze: where do i fine that file ? |
| 23:13 |
esokoll |
@tansta: go to Install tool --> [BE][maxFileSize] = 10000 |
| 23:13 |
Denyerec |
Yeah, the config tool is missing |
| 23:13 |
Denyerec |
but I set it in TS |
| 23:14 |
ralze |
tansta: on any unix: /etc/phpX/apacheX/php.ini |
| 23:14 |
tansta |
i already done that: 10000000 |
| 23:14 |
tansta |
but it still complain that the max is 9.8MB |
| 23:14 |
ralze |
where X is the version you are using |
| 23:14 |
ralze |
there are many possibilities, who/what is limiting that file size |
| 23:15 |
ralze |
provider, php, diskspace ... |
| 23:15 |
tansta |
ralze: TYPO3 gives this error: 1: Filesize (26 M) of file '/Users/<removed>/amb/ambra.net.au/public/www/fileadmin/templates/AmbraFiles/06166 Sheer To Waist/06166 Sheer To Waist.eps' exceeds limit (9.8 M). (tt_content:242:media) |
| 23:15 |
tansta |
okay let me ask my providers :) |
| 23:15 |
ralze |
when uploading? |
| 23:15 |
tansta |
no when linking a file in typo3 |
| 23:15 |
tansta |
using the file link modules |
| 23:16 |
tansta |
i already upload the file to the server |
| 23:16 |
tansta |
it shouldn't be my provider :) |
| 23:16 |
tansta |
Denyerec: how did you do it with typo script ? |
| 23:17 |
Denyerec |
styles.content.imgtext.maxW = 900 |
| 23:17 |
tansta |
NOOOOO you NONG |
| 23:17 |
tansta |
not the image width |
| 23:17 |
tansta |
the file size :) |
| 23:18 |
tansta |
you need some sleep bro |
| 23:18 |
j0hndeere |
hello, Ries the human. |
| 23:18 |
Ries |
hey dude |
| 23:18 |
tansta |
Ries: how do i increase the allowable file size in TYPO3 ? currently its 9.8MB |
| 23:19 |
tansta |
but when i try to link a file more than that it gives an error: 1: Filesize (26 M) of file '/Users/<removed>/amb/ambra.net.au/public/www/fileadmin/templates/AmbraFiles/06166 Sheer To Waist/06166 Sheer To Waist.eps' exceeds limit (9.8 M). (tt_content:242:media) |
| 23:19 |
Ries |
depends I think |
| 23:19 |
Ries |
there are options in the install tool |
| 23:19 |
Ries |
but an extension can limit it |
| 23:19 |
Ries |
also check your php settings |
| 23:19 |
tansta |
oh php.ini ? |
| 23:20 |
Awillys |
Ries: do you have time for a small project? |
| 23:20 |
Awillys |
i reckon it would take you 20 minutes :p |
| 23:21 |
esokoll |
@Denyerec: havn´t got it... does it work now? |
| 23:21 |
Ries |
Awillys: Nope.... I am at 180 hours/month nowdays... excluding my own projects |
| 23:21 |
Awillys |
oh |
| 23:21 |
Awillys |
Ries: tough :/ |
| 23:21 |
Ries |
sorry dude... |
| 23:21 |
Awillys |
have some good rest man! |
| 23:22 |
Awillys |
nah it's cool |
| 23:22 |
Ries |
who said rest?!?! |
| 23:22 |
Awillys |
i should stop being a n00b ^^ |
| 23:22 |
Awillys |
but there is no way that on top of all i am already doing i venture myself learning coding |
| 23:27 |
esokoll |
I need some sleep... good night to all |
| 23:31 |
tansta |
does anyone know where the 9.8MB is set in TYPO3 ? |
| 23:31 |
tansta |
9.8 Limits i meant :) |
| 23:34 |
ralze |
tansta: so you are sure it's typo3 that is limiting? :) |
| 23:35 |
tansta |
ralze: yes yes :) |
| 23:35 |
tansta |
i've just rang my host, he said there's no limit and show me how to do it with .htaccess |
| 23:35 |
tansta |
but still didn't work |
| 23:38 |
tansta |
what does this mean? exceeds limit (9.8 M). (tt_content:242:media) |
| 23:38 |
tansta |
tt_conent:242:media ? |
| 23:38 |
tansta |
something got to do with table tt_content ? |
| 23:39 |
ralze |
tansta: i don't know to be honest... |
| 23:39 |
tansta |
ralze: that's okay :) |
| 23:40 |
ralze |
:) |
| 23:40 |
tansta |
thanks anyway mate |
| 23:48 |
tansta |
ralze |
| 23:48 |
Denyerec |
OK once again I have forgotten where I'm up to. |
| 23:48 |
tansta |
do you want to know how its fix ? ;) |
| 23:48 |
tansta |
hehehe |
| 23:48 |
tansta |
Denyerect: bro...get some sleep... |
| 23:48 |
tansta |
hehehe |
| 23:48 |
Denyerec |
tansta I did the tt_news crop cleanup thing |
| 23:49 |
tansta |
WHAT ? |
| 23:49 |
tansta |
no kidding |
| 23:49 |
Denyerec |
Yeah, I dunno how safe it is. |
| 23:49 |
Denyerec |
or how clean. |
| 23:49 |

But it seems to work. |
| 23:49 |
tansta |
what does it do exactly |
| 23:49 |
tansta |
any example ? |
| 23:49 |
Denyerec |
say you have a news article with a list in |
| 23:49 |
Denyerec |
and your normal crop clips it in half |
| 23:49 |
Denyerec |
if you validated it, you would fail |
| 23:49 |
Denyerec |
as you'd have <li> stuf.... |
| 23:49 |
Denyerec |
and no closing tags |
| 23:50 |
Denyerec |
so this looks at the output, closes up the tags, then outputs. |
| 23:50 |
Denyerec |
So your markup's valid. |
| 23:50 |
tansta |
oh wow |
| 23:50 |
tansta |
very good man |
| 23:51 |
tansta |
are you gonna release it ? |
| 23:51 |
tansta |
hehehe |
| 23:51 |
Denyerec |
Well I doubt it's good or safe enough for that. |
| 23:51 |
tansta |
why not |
| 23:51 |
tansta |
if its not someone will complain :) |
| 23:51 |
Denyerec |
Haha |
| 23:51 |
Denyerec |
Well if you want |
| 23:51 |
Denyerec |
I can give you the files. |
| 23:51 |
Denyerec |
and you can see for yourself |
| 23:51 |
tansta |
yes yes :) i am a risk taker kekeke |
| 23:51 |
Denyerec |
email? |
| 23:52 |
tansta |
(obscured mail address) |
| 23:52 |
tansta |
with some instruction too please :) |
| 23:57 |
Denyerec |
ok sent |
| 23:57 |
Denyerec |
Dax's version uses more clever stuff than mine. |
| 23:57 |
Denyerec |
His is the PHP4 code |
| 23:58 |
Denyerec |
I hacked one in for PHP5 |
| 23:58 |
Denyerec |
for the PHP4 one, you don't set the .crop for the standardwrap |
| 23:58 |
Denyerec |
You let his function do it. |
| 23:58 |
Denyerec |
FOr the PHP5 one, it'll clean the output of the crop for you. |
| 23:58 |
Denyerec |
You should see how it works. |
| 23:58 |
Denyerec |
