Hello. I am going CRAZY hjere and woudl be happy if anyone either helped me or told me about a good asylum.... This page demosntrates my problem: http://comfitty.de/typo3/zak/dienstleistungen/kommunalarbeiten.html . Whenever I put a graphic NEXT to the text (not floating), the next ciontent-element starts BELOW the box with the links..... |

no, there is no need for that |

layna it is because of your wrong template+css > #links { |

float: left; |

} |
| 08:56 |

there is no shame if you use tables |

It worked great WITHOUT tables as long I kept the stupid think off Typo3 |

and... you are telling me when I do a typ3-template.. I may not use floats? |

of course you can.. but you don't do it in correct way |
| 09:00 |
just2b |
the 2nd contentelement begins after the menu.. saw that? |
| 09:02 |
Layna |
Yes.. that is my problem, after all. so, what is wrong about my floating of the #nav-div? I coudl do wverything in that #content while I was off typo3. Now I put it on typo3, and it breaks |
| 09:03 |
just2b |
it is not the fault of typo3 |
| 09:03 |
Layna |
Then give me a hitn abotu why my floatign is wrong... because as I said, it worked outside typo3 |
| 09:04 |
just2b |
you think it worked outside but that is wrong... what the link to the template? |

you set the #content next to the #links with the float:left |

you set the #content next to the #links with the float:left |
| 09:17 |

First: float: left in #content breaks it even more. Second.... I always bow to yout Typo3-wisdom, but float:left positions elemnts comign AFTER #content when applied to #content |
| 09:19 |

i am not too good with templates of others.. so take a look at just 2 examples of mine www.hotel-koller.com and http://dev.gosau.org/fileadmin/dev/template.html |

Hi. Can someone give me a hint how to embed an external application into an existing TYPO3 project? What I need is a way to get the output of said application into specific pages of the project. I know, I can do this with FetchURL, but the App has several pages and I need a way to insert them in the page tree dynamically. |

Phlogi: no, I just need it in the backend. The application just displays some documents indexed by a URL-parameter. Those documents are ordered into categories. What I need is a way to have a page with all categories with links to the documents. but the documents should be embedded into the rest of the website. |

One solution I thought about, was to use a single page in the pagetree and have the app change all the links it generates to be links to this typo3 page with additional parameters. I thought, maybe there is a better way to do this |
| 09:56 |
_zero_gravity |
Also, for this to work, I would need a way to make FetchURL use these parameters when calling the application |

Hello. I used the Extension "Simulate BE user". This works just fine, except for Images. If I log in to the FE and edit a content element i can not place a picture here. The buttons are there, but they do not really work. Is this meant to be like that? |
| 10:08 |
just2b |
guess this has nothing to do with this ext |

I'm using this typoscript: http://www.typo3wizard.com/en/snippets/general-config/random-content.html but the content i want it to randomly choose from, is not text nor text w/image. It's my own plugin, but it doesn't give any output, what have I done wrong? |

| 12:21 |
kraftb |
? |
| 12:21 |
kraftb |
what do you mean by "store the path" ? |
| 12:22 |
kraftb |
only the filename of the uploaded file gets stored |
| 12:22 |
kraftb |
in the image field of tt_content |
| 12:22 |
kraftb |
all images which get generated by GIFBUILDER or by resizing are stored in the typo3temp/ directory |
| 12:22 |
kraftb |
in typo3temp/pics/ or typo3tep/GB/ |
| 12:23 |
kraftb |
and the filename is created via a hash function as you said |
| 12:24 |

ok and that is stored in cache_imagesizes? or is that hash calcqualted everytime a page gets rendered? |

didn't meant the path, but the filename of the generated thumbnail |
| 12:26 |
kraftb |
hmm ... well if you have a gifbuilder image |
| 12:26 |
kraftb |
then the hash get's calculated from the TS |
| 12:26 |
kraftb |
and if the TS changes a new image will get generated |
| 12:27 |
kraftb |
i do currently not remember how it is with images which just get resized .... |
| 12:27 |
kraftb |
why do you need to know this |
| 12:27 |
kraftb |
what do you want to do ? |
| 12:28 |

i am using the content 2 xml extension and i do need both filenames, the original big picture and the generated thumbnail |
| 12:28 |
kraftb |
hmm .... |
| 12:28 |

i would just create a 2nd TS which generates the image for the XML |

btw. maybe someone is interested: I've just finished the frontend localization feature for cal -> translate your cal-records using the fe-editing |
| 13:35 |
s-andersen |
Hmmm when I read the "typoscript by example" it seems that styles.content.get is quite simple. Even though this is able to show my content a reproduction of it doesn't render any content element, where my plugin is inserted, any ideas? |

| 14:26 |
gerards |
hahaha ok. |
| 14:26 |
gerards |
Eep: I recommend using a smarty template to generate that table. |
| 14:26 |
Eep |
what's that? |
| 14:26 |
DenTop |
I'd recommend reviewing your presentation approach |
| 14:27 |
DenTop |
that table is borderline unuserable and unreadable |
| 14:27 |
s-andersen_ |
Agree with DenTop |
| 14:27 |
Eep |
hence the desire for a database with configurable games/features to compare, Den ;) |
| 14:27 |
DenTop |
I certainly can't muster the mental energy to interpret what it's attemtping to convey |
| 14:27 |
DenTop |
Ahhh :) |
| 14:27 |
DenTop |
Well even I have managed to create tables for typo3 extensions |
| 14:27 |
Eep |
er, the title of the website isn't enough, "3D Game Comparison"? |
| 14:27 |
DenTop |
Sooo it shouldn't hurt too badly. |
| 14:27 |
gerards |
but its such a broad structure.... |
| 14:27 |
DenTop |
I can see what it's attempting to convey.... just can't take it all in :) |
| 14:28 |
s-andersen_ |
Well Eep it would do your site well to store the information in a relational database |
| 14:28 |
Eep |
well, try resizing your window smaller then, perhaps :P |
| 14:28 |
DenTop |
1024x768 is already small enough :( |
| 14:28 |
Eep |
yea, s-andersen, I tried designing that too, but couldn't figure it out: see http://tnlc.com/eep/compare/database.html |
| 14:28 |

why doesnt typo works properly in safari? our does? why not yours? |

a BE or a FE of a website? |

ABOUT THE CAL PLUGIN I fond an news Item that taks about the pageBruwser but I cant find any info on that ! anyone who knows where to find mor info on cal plgin ? |
| 14:25 |
gerards |
Eep: |
| 14:25 |
just2b |
typoguy so you can't compare it then... even no images... it is hard to believe you... |
| 14:25 |
gerards |
Eep: not a technical term. like a table that's, well, almost without structure... |
| 14:25 |
typoguy003 |
kickass programming skills and flexibility has its price |
| 14:26 |
gerards |
or with a structure so broad that it might be easier to just code it in html! |
| 14:26 |
Eep |
it has structure, but it just uses col-/rowspan... |
| 14:26 |
just2b |
i just wonder why yoour nick has got the prefix typo3 :D :D :D |
| 14:26 |
s-andersen_ |
well typoguy we will look forward to getting some competition from your wonderful CMS, if that was all you wanted here, i guess it's time to leave? |

if so, then the accepted solution is just to use a few well known tricks to give IE a different width to the other more compliant browsers. |

a little. DenTop knows more about CONTENT and RECORDs than I do now. |

I have used this snippet from typo3wixard http://www.typo3wizard.com/en/snippets/general-config/random-content.html |
| 14:52 |
s-andersen |
It works perfect with elements such as text, text w/image, but when i choose from a sysFolder with "Insert plugin" records, it renders nothing |

gerards: the problem is that the padding property does not work at all in IE7 for the BE in xhtml trans. I have setup the FE with html 4 strict and the padding works well, just in the BE there is a problem |
| 14:54 |
s-andersen |
it's real bugging, the plugin I insert is one i have developed myself, and I can't find out if it's something I have forgot to do |

what troubles me is that it renders without any problem, if I insert it as a normal record on a page. That just stop me from having random content |

titii: settings at phpfi.com/247601 look right to me. check in your TS object browser to make sure that those settings are actually the ones in your system. It is possible that there is a line of TS elsewhere in some template that is overriding those settings. |

hi all |
| 21:31 |
mikrocosm |
i need help with some typoscript: i want all images inserted as contentitems in the left column to be resized to a maximum width of 150px and have "click-resize" enabled. |
| 21:32 |
mikrocosm |
i thought the first part should be easy: |
| 21:32 |
mikrocosm |
styles.content.imgtext.maxW = 150 |
| 21:33 |
mikrocosm |
but that does not change anything? |
| 21:34 |
mikrocosm |
could anybody offer some tips? |

Salub: look in the TSref for 'TMENUITEM'. In there you have four similar but different properties: CUR, CURIFSUB, ACT and ACTIFUSUB. Thery're just alternate states of the menu items to 'NO'. |
