Ries, yes, that is true. that would work. but does the dbal not work a bit like that already? |
| 00:01 |
jsfan |
it just does not have a search function |
| 00:24 |
ndee |
regarding realurl: Where can the culprit be when the server doesn't find www.domain.com/linkname.html (instead of www.domain.com/index.php?id=3)? How can I test if the Rewrite-Engine is really working? |
| 00:25 |
ndee |
it generates the correct links but when I click on a link, I get a 404 |
| 00:25 |
ndee |
hey Ries :D |
| 00:26 |
Ries |
Hey ndee |

bedlamhotel |
Hey ndee, |
| 00:27 |
bedlamhotel |
Put your rewrite rules, conditions etc in tags like this in .htaccess: |
| 00:27 |
bedlamhotel |
<IfModlue mod_rewrite.c> </IfModule> |
| 00:27 |
bedlamhotel |
...but be sure to spell 'module' correctly, not like I did... :) |
| 00:36 |
Rocketjock |
Hi Everyone |
| 00:42 |
ndee |
bedlamhotel: it works now :D juhu. Now I'm going to get a good night sleep :D good night everyone |

Anyone here ever used jQuery ? |
| 01:03 |
jsfan |
Denyerec, i'm about to in the extension i'm using. along with thickbox |
| 01:03 |
Denyerec |
I don't think I know what thickbox is yet. |
| 01:03 |
Denyerec |
Have you used jQuery much before ? |
| 01:04 |
jsfan |
never |
| 01:04 |
jsfan |
thickbox is the thing that sourceforge use for the mirror selection. |
| 01:04 |
Denyerec |
Heh |
| 01:04 |
Denyerec |
you mean some popup box with content in ? |
| 01:05 |
Denyerec |
Also I am nervous about accessibility of such things |
| 01:05 |
Denyerec |
how to navigate with a keyboard etc. |
| 01:05 |
Denyerec |
Which reminds me |
| 01:06 |
jsfan |
no idea, how you navigate with a keyboard. i am happy to assume recent browsers for this thing. |
| 01:06 |
Denyerec |
recent browsers is one thing |
| 01:06 |
Denyerec |
keyboard users another. |
| 01:06 |
Denyerec |
br |
| 01:06 |
Denyerec |
b |
| 01:20 |
jsfan |
Denyerec, who uses keyboards only? even me as a hardcore unixer would never do that! |
| 01:20 |
Denyerec |
I know people who do. |
| 01:20 |
Denyerec |
:) |
| 01:24 |
Zonesoldier |
jsfan: what flavor of unix? |
| 01:25 |
Rocketjock |
I am me again |
| 01:25 |
jsfan |
today it's gentoo. up to about 2 years ago it was debian. |
| 01:27 |
Rocketjock |
I couldn't get gentoo to install... ubuntu would though... still i love freebsd best |
| 01:29 |
Rocketjock |
does anyone set doc_root in php.ini? |
| 01:30 |
Rocketjock |
I usually leave it blank.. just set it... reading an article on optimising php.ini http://www.askapache.com/2007/php/custom-phpini-tips-and-tricks.html |
| 01:35 |
jsfan |
Rocketjock, i still have to try freebsd. i only have some openbsd experience and didn't like it too much. |
| 01:35 |
jsfan |
although the docs are great |
| 01:36 |
jsfan |
Rocketjock, what's the use of setting that? |
| 01:36 |
Zonesoldier |
I don't like openbsd much either... to limited... they need to modernize their install and other things |
| 01:37 |
pond |
anyone use the pdfgenerator2 extension? |
| 01:37 |
Zonesoldier |
not sure what the advantage is if not running php in cgi |
| 01:37 |
jsfan |
Zonesoldier, if you ask me, they need to get rid of their boss... ;-) |
| 01:38 |
Zonesoldier |
pond: i couldn't get it to work correctly |
| 01:38 |
pond |
its seems to work well for me... I mean OK in any case... |
| 01:38 |
pond |
but I have a page that does not render at all |
| 01:39 |
pond |
I cannot figure out if its that part of it is not caching or what |
| 01:39 |
pond |
COA's cache by default right? |
| 01:39 |
Zonesoldier |
jsfan: it might be a good start...they all have the old mentality... everthing should be command line... no graphics.... |
| 01:39 |
jsfan |
Zonesoldier, and their security concept is weird. |
| 01:40 |
jsfan |
what's the use of a secure default install if you can't do anything with this default install and then get packages like sendmail with it? |
| 01:41 |
Zonesoldier |
jsfan: it is weird. but it works well...touted as the most secure os in the world...next to microsoft that is...LOL |
| 01:41 |
Zonesoldier |
jk |
| 01:42 |
Zonesoldier |
freebsd is suppose to be switching to postfix for its default mail... or no mail by default |
| 01:42 |
jsfan |
Zonesoldier, they rate it as they most secure. i never would. m$ also think they are the most secure. even apple does! |
| 01:42 |
jsfan |
i like qmail. slim and secure. |
| 01:42 |
jsfan |
postfix is powerful but apparently a bit hard to configure. |
| 01:42 |
Zonesoldier |
qmail is good.. |
| 01:43 |
Zonesoldier |
I find postfix easy... but I don't do anything special with it |
| 01:50 |
pond |
does anyone know if there is a TS example to include all the content elements of subpages on a master page? (not using TV) |
| 02:13 |
gerards |
evening everyone. |
| 02:27 |
Zonesoldier |
Hi gerards |
| 02:27 |
Zonesoldier |
Hey Ries |
| 02:55 |
Denyerec |
OK |
| 02:55 |
Denyerec |
I've said it before |
| 02:55 |
Denyerec |
and i'm gonna say it again |
| 02:55 |
Denyerec |
FUCKING AMERICANS |

| 02:55 |
Denyerec |
>_< |
| 02:56 |
Denyerec |
How can a nation be so utterly self-absorbed by commercialism to throw free speech and freedom as a whole out of the window in exchange for a legal system that does nothing but cripple the nation. |
| 02:56 |
Denyerec |
If they weren't so bloody powerful I wouldn't care, but they end up crapping on the rest of us with their stupid games. |
| 02:57 |
Zonesoldier |
Den: there assholes everywhere.... ours are just more vocal |
| 02:58 |
Denyerec |
And more dangerous :/ |
| 02:58 |
Zonesoldier |
the shit needs to hit the fan here so some changes can be made... |
| 02:58 |
Denyerec |
If the European court can look at the software patent system you use (Assuming you're in the US) and say "Wow, that's insane" it should act as a clue... |
| 02:59 |
Zonesoldier |
remides me of Germany just before the nazi's came to power |
| 02:59 |
Denyerec |
Just makes me angry when a corporation is able to squash the legitimate research of a concerned individual who's not happy with the fact that a totally defunct and insecure system is being used to handle their personal details and entire identity. |
| 02:59 |
Zonesoldier |
you would think so |
| 02:59 |
Denyerec |
It's like Minority Report. |
| 02:59 |
Denyerec |
Mind you... the sci-fi writers saw this coming 80 years ago or more. |
| 03:00 |
Denyerec |
Just a shame that their genre was lost amongst teh Barbarella's and "Surf Nazi's from Mars" |
| 03:00 |
Denyerec |
:( |
| 03:00 |
Zonesoldier |
you ever read 1984? |
| 03:00 |
Denyerec |
No actually, but I'm familiar with it. |
| 03:00 |
Denyerec |
That and Farenheit. |
| 03:00 |
Zonesoldier |
i am reading it now... online |
| 03:00 |
Denyerec |
As well as a lot of PK Dicks work that predicted a police state. |
| 03:01 |
Zonesoldier |
if we don't start standing up for our rights here it may end up a police state |
| 03:01 |
Denyerec |
It's funny how people laughed at that Sandra Bullock movie "The Net" where she loses her identity, sayign it was stupid and outlandish... |
| 03:01 |
Denyerec |
...and now "identity theft" is one of the largest criminal markets. |
| 03:01 |
Denyerec |
Zonesoldier I believe you already are. |
| 03:02 |
Zonesoldier |
information age is moving faster then anyone expected |
| 03:02 |
Denyerec |
When a student can be dragged, tazers, CS sprayed and screaming from a library for having an Iranian ID, it's already too later. |
| 03:02 |
Denyerec |
*late. |
| 03:02 |
Zonesoldier |
you may be right |
| 03:02 |
Zonesoldier |
sad |
| 03:02 |
Denyerec |
When police can use pepperspray, pepper guns and batons on a crowd peacefully protesting against their government... |
| 03:02 |
Denyerec |
...you're already a long way down a sad, sad road :( |
| 03:03 |
Denyerec |
And the sickening thing is the UK is just happy to tag along. |
| 03:03 |
Zonesoldier |
true |
| 03:03 |
Denyerec |
It's now illegal here to speak out against the governmetn within 1 mile of Whitehall |
| 03:03 |
Denyerec |
(Our government centre, like your Whitehouse) |
| 03:03 |
Denyerec |
Imagine that. You can't protest, even peacefully, within a mile of Government. |
| 03:03 |
Denyerec |
It's for "Security". |
| 03:03 |
Denyerec |
Oh MAN this crap makes me so angry. |
| 03:04 |
Zonesoldier |
damn |
| 03:04 |
Denyerec |
They're bringing in a biometric passport system that has ALREADY been cracked and shown to be cloneable. |
| 03:04 |
Denyerec |
Years before it's implementation. |
| 03:04 |
Denyerec |
And yet... it's a necessary step in reducing terrorism. |
| 03:04 |
Zonesoldier |
like our voting machines |
| 03:04 |
Denyerec |
Oh man |
| 03:04 |
Denyerec |
Diebold... |
| 03:04 |
Denyerec |
They pulled such a fast one on you guys :( |
| 03:04 |
Zonesoldier |
yep ... twice |
| 03:04 |
Denyerec |
I feel sorry for you, especially with it happening twice. |
| 03:05 |
Denyerec |
heh :/ |
| 03:05 |
Zonesoldier |
and some here are happy about it |
| 03:05 |
Denyerec |
Saw a documentary where when it was demonstrated in front of the team, one woman cried. |
| 03:05 |
Zonesoldier |
think he is so great |
| 03:05 |
Denyerec |
She wept because she knew that democracy was dead. |
| 03:06 |
Zonesoldier |
drawn and quartered with the blessing of the serfs |
| 03:06 |
Denyerec |
Do you think Obama has a chance ? |
| 03:06 |
Denyerec |
I only know what I've read in the UK pres. |
| 03:06 |
Denyerec |
*press. |
| 03:06 |
Zonesoldier |
no |
| 03:06 |
Denyerec |
Hmm, didn't think so. |
| 03:06 |
Denyerec |
Because he's a democrat, or because he's black? |
| 03:06 |
Zonesoldier |
no one good will get in |
| 03:06 |
Denyerec |
I still get the vibe that racism is pretty damn rife across there. |
| 03:07 |
Zonesoldier |
both... but mainly because hes black |
| 03:07 |
Denyerec |
I play BF2 in a tournament and I'm disgusted at the attitudes of a lot of the people I play with. |
| 03:07 |
Zonesoldier |
i would vote for him |
| 03:07 |
Zonesoldier |
we own a restaurant... a real eye opener |
| 03:08 |
Denyerec |
From what you hear working there ? |
| 03:08 |
Zonesoldier |
color shouldn't matter |
| 03:08 |
Zonesoldier |
yes from the customers |
| 03:09 |
Denyerec |
Oh it drives me mad. |
| 03:09 |
Zonesoldier |
racism is alive and well... mainly among the republicans |
| 03:09 |
Denyerec |
I dared one guy in the tournament to just say another word... |
| 03:09 |
Denyerec |
was going on about how he hated "Paki's" and I slammed him hard for it. |
| 03:09 |
Zonesoldier |
the key is education |
| 03:09 |
Denyerec |
I'm sure a lot of it is ignorance, and crap that people pick up from their environment. |
| 03:10 |
Denyerec |
Indeed. |
| 03:10 |
Denyerec |
A lot of people are ignorant and when challenged on an issue they know they're weak on they'll pick a familiar or comfortable ethic and run with it. |
| 03:10 |
Zonesoldier |
the government hates the internet because they can't control the flow of information |
| 03:10 |
Denyerec |
Aye |
| 03:10 |
Denyerec |
Seems all governments hate the internet |
| 03:11 |
Denyerec |
BUt then.... if I recall from my history books they weren't too hot on the printing press either... |
| 03:11 |
Zonesoldier |
one sec |
| 03:11 |
Denyerec |
The last thing any power mad government needs is an educated population. |
| 03:11 |
Denyerec |
Heaven forbid. |
| 03:12 |
Denyerec |
THat's why our education system here specifically avoids subjects like modern history, human rights and politics. |
| 03:12 |
Denyerec |
Can't have the masses knowing that stuff or they might, you know, start asking questions... |
| 03:12 |
Zonesoldier |
here is the link to 1984 http://www.online-literature.com/orwell/1984/ |
| 03:13 |
Zonesoldier |
same goes for religion |
| 03:13 |
Denyerec |
I wonder if I can get that as a textfile so I can use my RSVP reader on it. |
| 03:13 |
Zonesoldier |
good idea... I hadn't thought about that |
| 03:14 |
Denyerec |
still training on that thing but I'm picking up speed. |
| 03:14 |
Denyerec |
Lousy software though, missing some important features. |
| 03:14 |
Zonesoldier |
still fairly new area? |
| 03:15 |
Denyerec |
Mmm, not really. |
| 03:15 |
Denyerec |
Just not a very popular one. |
| 03:15 |
Denyerec |
So I guess no-one is really keen on developing a good reader as it wouldn't sell too well. |
| 03:15 |
Zonesoldier |
have to go... get kids ready for bed |
| 03:15 |
Denyerec |
I'd love one with native PDF support, and a document preview that shows you where you're up to on a mini view of the document. |
| 03:15 |
Zonesoldier |
nite... nice talking with you |
| 03:15 |
Denyerec |
No worries zapher_ |
| 03:15 |
Denyerec |
Zonesoldier rather :) |
| 03:15 |
Denyerec |
Good luck out there |
| 03:15 |
Denyerec |
You need it :/ |
| 03:16 |
Zonesoldier |
thanks... I very well may |
| 03:16 |
Zonesoldier |
:( |
| 03:16 |
Denyerec |
move to Ecuador :) |
| 03:16 |
Denyerec |
seems the popular choice for Typo3 devs |
| 03:16 |
Denyerec |
;) |
| 03:16 |
Zonesoldier |
lol |
| 03:16 |
Zonesoldier |
sleep in Ries garage... he doesn't have a car |
| 03:16 |
Zonesoldier |
nite |
| 03:17 |
gerards |
someone poked me.... |
| 03:17 |
Denyerec |
I did. |
| 03:17 |
Denyerec |
I was making a joke to Zonesoldier that he should more to Ecuador |
| 03:18 |
Denyerec |
Seems to be a popular destination for Typo3 devs |
| 03:18 |
Denyerec |
:) |
| 03:18 |
Denyerec |
gerards do you keep track of the mailling lists or the newsgroups ? |
| 03:18 |
gerards |
gosh. I haven't for some time. |
| 03:18 |
gerards |
too lazy. |
| 03:18 |
Denyerec |
I just wondered which of the two had the most attention |
| 03:19 |
gerards |
oh i only download newsgroup items. |
| 03:19 |
gerards |
in the past. |
| 03:20 |
Denyerec |
hmm. |
| 03:20 |
Denyerec |
I posted to the mailling list about tt_news, I guess I shall have to be more patient :) |
| 03:21 |
gerards |
man... everyone is using tt_news. |
| 03:22 |
gerards |
except me. |
| 03:22 |
Denyerec |
Hehe |
| 03:22 |
Denyerec |
you using Simple News ? |
| 03:23 |
gerards |
i don't seem to have any clients that want to know anythign about news. |
| 03:24 |
jsfan |
Denyerec, what's your problem with tt_new? where did you post? |
| 03:24 |
Denyerec |
on the tt_news list. |
| 03:25 |
Denyerec |
Regarding distributing images throughout an article |
| 03:25 |
Denyerec |
rather than just in a block at the top |
| 03:25 |
Denyerec |
gerards I can't say my clients are overly interested, but I learned how to use tt_news and am not in a hurry to learn another |
| 03:25 |
Denyerec |
:) |
| 03:26 |
jsfan |
Denyerec, as i mentioned before. it can be easily written as an extension that hooks in with tt_news |
| 03:26 |
gerards |
I wish i had clients who are more interested in current affairs, like tt_news. ;) |
| 03:26 |
Denyerec |
jsfan - no. |
| 03:27 |
Denyerec |
What you mentioned before |
| 03:27 |
Denyerec |
was that it could be written as an extension. |
| 03:27 |
Denyerec |
the word "Easily" is misguiding. |
| 03:27 |
Denyerec |
:) |
| 03:27 |
jsfan |
but it is easy :P |
| 03:28 |
jsfan |
you wan the same answer on the mailing list? :P |
| 03:30 |
Denyerec |
I fail to see how it's easy. |
| 03:30 |
Denyerec |
tt_news has a function that you can override that handles images. |
| 03:31 |
Denyerec |
but I don't have the first idea how I'd go about doing it. |
| 03:31 |
Denyerec |
I considered using ###MARKERS### in the RTE text |
| 03:31 |
Denyerec |
but that's not easy on the poor client |
| 03:31 |
Denyerec |
so I thought maybe after any heading tag. |
| 03:44 |
jsfan |
why can't you use markers? i see no reason why not... |
| 03:45 |
jsfan |
put markers in there, use the extraItemsMarkerProcessor hook and modify the markerarray according to what is in the images field. |
| 03:48 |
Denyerec |
See |
| 03:48 |
Denyerec |
There's a difference between you and I. |
| 03:49 |
Denyerec |
You understood what you said and know what's going on. |
| 03:49 |
Denyerec |
I... did not. |
| 03:49 |
Denyerec |
Where i can infer what you mean form what you say, I have no idea how to actually go about it |
| 03:49 |
Denyerec |
<-- Typo3 noob. |
| 03:49 |
tansta |
me too :) |
| 03:49 |
Denyerec |
I can't even get a simple Userfunc to bloody work |
| 03:49 |
Denyerec |
Literally |
| 03:49 |
tansta |
me too |
| 03:49 |
tansta |
no no not me |
| 03:49 |
Denyerec |
it's 0350hrs and I'ms till trying |
| 03:49 |
tansta |
i can get the userfunc to work ;) |
| 03:50 |
tansta |
i did it once :) only 1 year ago kekeke |
| 03:53 |
Denyerec |
Heh |
| 03:53 |
Denyerec |
well I have it triggering in the wrong place. |
| 03:53 |
Denyerec |
not much of a start... :/ |
| 03:53 |
Denyerec |
gotta find out what properties something has |
| 03:58 |
Denyerec |
oph FFS |
| 03:58 |
Denyerec |
I spent hours trying to clear bodytext off tt_news yesterday |
| 03:58 |
Denyerec |
and it's in the manual |
| 03:58 |
Denyerec |
the Typo3 docus SUCK |
| 03:58 |
Denyerec |
Couldn't find it |
| 03:58 |
Denyerec |
now I read it |
| 03:58 |
Denyerec |
in plain sight |
| 03:58 |
Denyerec |
even tho the search couldn't pull it out. |
| 04:02 |
Denyerec |
jsfan, woudl you mind taking a look at some TS for me |
| 04:02 |
Denyerec |
you seem to know what you're on about |
| 04:03 |
Denyerec |
And this is driving me beserk |
| 04:03 |
jsfan |
give it a shot |
| 04:03 |
Denyerec |
OK |

Denyerec |
Lines 11->20 set up the list display |

| 04:04 |
Denyerec |
OH |
| 04:04 |
Denyerec |
Oh shit me |
| 04:04 |
Denyerec |
what an idiot |
| 04:06 |
Denyerec |
Ok so |
| 04:06 |
Denyerec |
I modified the TS |
| 04:06 |
Denyerec |
now the function's getting called. |
| 04:06 |
Denyerec |
It's just.... dying. |
| 04:06 |
Denyerec |
http://wilcoding.xs4all.nl/Wilco/Pastecode/4262/showpaste.aspx |
| 04:06 |
Denyerec |
Thats the userfunc |
| 04:10 |
Denyerec |
Do I have to make calls to static functions ? |
| 04:10 |
Denyerec |
rather than $this->func() |
| 04:10 |
Denyerec |
? |
| 04:13 |
gerards |
talking to yourself again? always a bad sign... |
| 04:13 |
Denyerec |
jsfan wandered off. |
| 04:13 |
Denyerec |
Trying to debug dax's code :( |
| 04:14 |
jsfan |
Denyerec, sorry but i'm at work... |
| 04:14 |
jsfan |
one sec |
| 04:14 |
Denyerec |
nps. |
| 04:14 |
Denyerec |
gerards thought I was talking to myself :) |
| 04:14 |
gerards |
but in php5, you just return $content. |
| 04:14 |
gerards |
there should be nothing in $content. |
| 04:14 |
Denyerec |
Yeah the include does some stuff |
| 04:15 |
Denyerec |
it had to be an include tho, cos in PHP the code caused parse errorsd |
| 04:15 |
Denyerec |
I'm on a PHP4 server atm |
| 04:15 |
Denyerec |
and it's definately hitting the other code |
| 04:15 |
gerards |
oh ok... |
| 04:16 |
gerards |
well i'm hitting the sack. |
| 04:17 |
Denyerec |
I wish I could. |
| 04:17 |
Denyerec |
But until I fix this I know I won't sleep |
| 04:19 |
tansta |
hahaha |
| 04:26 |
Denyerec |
ok jsfan... I've littered the function with print's to find out what's going on. |
| 04:26 |
jsfan |
ok |
| 04:26 |
Denyerec |
the userfunc appears to be returning $content |
| 04:26 |
jsfan |
sorry i'm this slow |
| 04:26 |
Denyerec |
and the contents of $content appear fine. |
| 04:26 |
Denyerec |
But Typo just *stops* |
| 04:27 |
Denyerec |
See this URL: http://www.noritsuwebkiosk.com/index.php?id=10 |
| 04:28 |
Denyerec |
That's $content on the way into the function and just before the return $content; |
| 04:28 |
Denyerec |
(refresh as I just cleaned the output up) |
| 04:30 |
Denyerec |
jsfan the updated userfunc PHP is here: |
| 04:31 |
Denyerec |
http://wilcoding.xs4all.nl/Wilco/Pastecode/4263/showpaste.aspx |
| 04:33 |
jsfan |
have you ever put in any t3lib_div:debug s? |
| 04:33 |
Denyerec |
unfortunately I can't turn on debugging |
| 04:33 |
Denyerec |
it's a remote site and I don't have access |
| 04:33 |
Denyerec |
it would only work from 127.0.0.1 |
| 04:33 |
Denyerec |
if I could turn that on, what would I put ? |
| 04:34 |
Denyerec |
Oohhh |
| 04:34 |
Denyerec |
it works! |
| 04:35 |
Denyerec |
The debug, that is. |
| 04:35 |
Denyerec |
I just don't get why my userfunc would be killing execution. |
| 04:39 |
jsfan |
so, if your debug works, your script is run. if it also returns content, probably your ts is wrong. |
| 04:40 |
jsfan |
if you use it as a userfunc, where does it get its input parameters from? |
| 04:40 |
Denyerec |
Right |
| 04:40 |
Denyerec |
I know which line kills execution |
| 04:40 |
Denyerec |
$body = $doc->get_elements_by_tagname('body'); |
| 04:40 |
Denyerec |
that one |
| 04:41 |
jsfan |
is $doc an opject at all? |
| 04:42 |
jsfan |
ok, it is. or at least should be |
| 04:42 |
Denyerec |
Well the weird thing is |
| 04:42 |
jsfan |
i meant object btw. getting tired... |
| 04:42 |
Denyerec |
if I run the code with some debugs in |
| 04:42 |
Denyerec |
eg if I debug content before and after |
| 04:42 |
Denyerec |
then it works, but execution stops. |
| 04:43 |
Denyerec |
As in, the $content gets processed |
| 04:43 |
jsfan |
? |
| 04:43 |
Denyerec |
http://www.noritsuwebkiosk.com/index.php?id=10&tx_ttnews[year]=2007&tx_ttnews[month]=02&cHash=47212cc24f |
| 04:43 |
Denyerec |
There you can see $doc |
| 04:43 |
jsfan |
i've checked the php manual already |
| 04:44 |
jsfan |
do you have php errors switched on? |
| 04:44 |
Denyerec |
No :( |
| 04:44 |
Denyerec |
Its not myserver |
| 04:44 |
Denyerec |
and I couldn't find the php errorlog either! |
| 04:44 |
Denyerec |
:( |
| 04:45 |
Denyerec |
Tried |
| 04:45 |
Denyerec |
but it wasn't in /var/log |
| 04:46 |
Denyerec |
$body = $doc->get_elements_by_tagname('body'); |
| 04:46 |
Denyerec |
That is definately the killer line |
| 04:47 |
Denyerec |
wanna see what happens when I uncomment it ? |
| 04:48 |
Denyerec |
jsfan: http://www.noritsuwebkiosk.com/index.php?id=10&tx_ttnews[year]=2007&tx_ttnews[month]=02&cHash=47212cc24f |
| 04:48 |
Denyerec |
that's the debug of $content at the start and end of my userfunc, with that deadly line enabled |
| 04:49 |
Denyerec |
It's bizarre, because if it was exploding, surely the function I'm passing $body to would die and err. |
| 04:49 |
Denyerec |
instead, everything seems to work. |
| 04:49 |
Denyerec |
as far as the userfunc is concerned anyway. |
| 04:49 |
jsfan |
what's that debug output and where do you output it? |
| 04:50 |
tansta |
tansta is lost |
| 04:50 |
Denyerec |
I'll show you the current php |
| 04:50 |
Denyerec |
http://wilcoding.xs4all.nl/Wilco/Pastecode/4264/showpaste.aspx |
| 04:50 |
Denyerec |
Output on lines 29 and 31 |
| 04:50 |
Denyerec |
either side of the "CLean up the content" function. |
| 04:51 |
Denyerec |
Killer line is line 27 |
| 04:53 |
Denyerec |
There is updated output: |
| 04:53 |
Denyerec |
http://www.noritsuwebkiosk.com/index.php?id=10&tx_ttnews[year]=2007&tx_ttnews[month]=02&cHash=47212cc24f |
| 04:53 |
Denyerec |
with a print_r($body) and a debug on body. |
| 04:53 |
Denyerec |
(Which returns [0 | Object] |
| 04:56 |
jsfan |
but don't you have the content already, anyway? |
| 04:57 |
jsfan |
what is supposed to happen to content? |
| 04:57 |
jsfan |
$content i mean |
| 04:58 |
Denyerec |
What is suppsoed to happen |
| 04:58 |
Denyerec |
is content comes in |
| 04:58 |
Denyerec |
if it's > 200 chars, then it's inspected, any open HTML tags are closed and it's cropped as close to 200 chars as possible, then returned |
| 04:59 |
Denyerec |
To prevent general_stdWrap.crop = 200 from introducing broken markup in your LIST view |
| 04:59 |
Denyerec |
cos see, if .crop decides to break something amongst some tags, bad things happen to the rest of your site. |
| 05:02 |
Denyerec |
Screw it |
| 05:02 |
Denyerec |
I'm going to bed |
| 05:02 |

another result-less 4 hours :( |

does anyone know off hand where it talks about "how to make your user function cache" |
| 07:22 |
pond |
I modified a little class... but I am pulling my hair out because it causes the page to not cache... |
| 07:22 |
pond |
and I need it to. ;( |
| 07:29 |
Fanty |
anyone have any experience on how to expand rtehtmlarea with a new button with an expanding text functionality (link and hidden <span> with text) |
| 07:30 |
pond |
that is a set of neasted tags that probably needs to be entered by hand... |
| 07:30 |

hi Jigal, Fanty, Awillys, floxx |

I mean... it would have to be two new buttons... and one would only be useable inside the other... |
| 07:33 |
pond |
not really what htmlarea is meant for... but I guess it would be possible |
| 07:35 |
pond |
how many of those do you expect to be entering? |

m4rtijn |

| 09:41 |
smda |
m4rtijn: there's a gazilion of flash extensions in TER. many of them are used to support flash menus and contents using xml or similar |
| 09:43 |
smda |
m4rtijn: here's an answer I gave someone last year http://lists.netfielders.de/pipermail/typo3-english/2006-December/034416.html |
| 09:43 |
smda |
maybe it gives you a starting point at least |

m4rtijn |
hmm smda? I've read some stuff about the xml-flash-typo things.. but thats for a dynamic menu.. thing is, I want a static flash menu and only want to call typo pages with that.. |
| 10:22 |
smda |
aha.. then even easier |
| 10:22 |
m4rtijn |
would I still need xml in this case? |

smda |
no, not unless you'r planning to change your pids/alias or such |
| 10:23 |
m4rtijn |
nope.. |
| 10:23 |

| 10:25 |
m4rtijn |
I cant set target= "div field" :p |
| 10:27 |
m4rtijn |
I guess I should use frames then for the website |
| 10:27 |
smda |
yes, if you don't want to reload the page with the menu |
| 10:27 |
tofirius |
anyone have an idea how to get admPanel to work for frontend editing? i added the appropriate code into my template & user ts |
| 10:28 |
tofirius |
but it still won't show |

hi there |

anyone familiar with option split? |
| 12:39 |
Ries |
pulponair: I just used it a couple of times |
| 12:40 |
pulponair |
ries: <li class="first">|<li> for the first item <li></li> for the rest? |
| 12:40 |
Ries |
would be possible |
| 12:41 |
tobi |
that would be just <li class="first">|<li> |*|<li>|</li>|*| |
| 12:41 |
Ries |
something like this you get <<li class="first">|</li> |*| <li>|</li> |*| <li>|</li> |
| 12:42 |
Ries |
tobi: Would that also work?? I always thought that options split works like First |*| middles |*| last |
| 12:44 |
pulponair |
tobi: you were right... |
| 12:44 |
pulponair |
tobi: i use to forget option split use ;) |

Hello, I am trying to add one field to Frontend user registration following the tutorial http://typo3.org/documentation/document-library/extension-manuals/sr_feuser_register/2.5.5/view/1/6/ and there is a strange thing. I do everything as said but only things like ###TCA_INPUT_myNewFieldName#### are showing up on the web page. |
| 12:53 |
gorn |
I have looked to scripts and it seems that new column does not exist for script |
| 12:53 |
gorn |
In class.sfeuserrefister_pi1.php function addTcaMarkers iterates through columns in $this->TCA['columns'], however newly added custom column never gets to this Array .... |
| 12:53 |
mikhas |
I'm looking for a function where the frontend users can check a checkbox on each page to confirm that they have read it. Anyone know a useful plug that might be modified to this? |
| 12:55 |
gorn |
I have even tried to brutally add myNewField everywhere is scripts of the sr_feuser_register extension, but nothing happens |
| 12:56 |
gorn |
BTW my new field (added to fe_users via kickstartet) has name tx_gorncustom_qualification |
| 12:56 |

voidus or dax about ? |
| 12:56 |

I need to slap one of them. |

hi... i'm trying to get the admin panel working for frontend editing |
| 12:58 |
tofirius |
i put in the code into my template |
| 12:59 |
tofirius |
but it doesn't work for the admin user |
| 12:59 |
tofirius |
any ideas? |
| 13:00 |
tofirius |
anyone? |
| 13:02 |
Denyerec |
Anone out there wanna help me debug a freakin crazystupid UserFunc error ? |
| 13:02 |
Denyerec |
might take 5 minutes, might take an hour. |
| 13:02 |
tobi |
Ries: option split takes the middle one if there is no first specified |
| 13:02 |
tobi |
also the middle is used for last if there is no last one set |
| 13:12 |
Denyerec |
tobi, i need you |
| 13:12 |
Fanty |
hmm.. how smart is it that I need to go edit class.rtehtmlarea_base.php to add a plugin to the extension.. whats the point of using plugins when I cant add them without editing the extension source files? |
| 13:18 |
pulponair |
tobi: regarding your option split sample ...it doens work :| |
| 13:21 |
Denyerec |
Anyone here working on a PHP4 server who can help me with a crazy weird problem with a userfunc ? |
| 13:26 |
Ries |
den, what is the prob? |
| 13:30 |
Denyerec |
I have a PHP userfunc |
| 13:30 |
Denyerec |
that seems to stop execution |
| 13:31 |
Denyerec |
I have isolated the damaging line |
| 13:31 |
Denyerec |
but the weirdest thing, is that debug and print_r's work AFTER this line and display the expected data |
| 13:31 |
Denyerec |
just that typo seems to "stop" |
| 13:31 |
Denyerec |
I will pastecode the code |
| 13:32 |
Denyerec |
http://wilcoding.xs4all.nl/Wilco/Pastecode/4265/showpaste.aspx |
| 13:32 |
Denyerec |
The thing is Ries, that the server I'm trying to get it working on has logging and PHP error/debug messages disabled. |
| 13:32 |
Denyerec |
Super annoying. |
| 13:36 |
pulponair |
does option split work whithin a repeative TV element? |
| 13:37 |
tobi |
no option split is only implemented in menues |
| 13:37 |
pulponair |
tobi: for sure? |
| 13:37 |
tobi |
yes |
| 13:37 |
pulponair |
tobi: fuck |
| 13:38 |
tobi |
pulponair: here the last part explains a workaround: http://www.typo3wizard.com/en/articles/explaining-the-content-object.html |
| 13:38 |
tofirius |
so.... is it possible someone can help get the admin panel working for frontend editing? |
| 13:39 |
pulponair |
tobi: the split stuf? |
| 13:39 |
tobi |
yes pulponair |
| 13:40 |
pulponair |
tobi: mmmhh |
| 13:41 |
pulponair |
tobi: ill give it a try thank you |
| 13:41 |
Denyerec |
Damn |
| 13:41 |
Denyerec |
Ries did you see the pastecode? |
| 13:42 |
tofirius |
admin panel problems.... help |
| 13:45 |
Ries |
(08:39:18) ries: ok |
| 13:45 |
Ries |
(08:40:44) ries: Denyerec: ? can you se me? My internet is bad the last couple of days |
| 13:45 |
Ries |
(08:40:53) ries: I didn't get anything after I will paste your code |
| 13:46 |
Denyerec |
Doh |
| 13:46 |
Denyerec |
http://wilcoding.xs4all.nl/Wilco/Pastecode/4265/showpaste.aspx |
| 13:46 |
Denyerec |
There is the code |
| 13:46 |
Denyerec |
I was up until 05:30 trying to get it working, no success |
| 13:46 |
Denyerec |
:( |
| 13:51 |
Jigal |
the 'sorting' field in e.g. the tt_content table (and others) is used for manual sort order. There seems to be a clever algoritm at work which minimizes the number of records that need updating when row order is changed. Anyone happens to know more about this algorithm? |
| 13:51 |
pulponair |
tobi: got a minute? |
| 13:51 |
tobi |
yes pulponair |
| 13:51 |
Fanty |
how do I easily empty the cached files located in typo3temp? |
| 13:52 |
Fanty |
other than rm -fr * |
| 13:52 |
Jigal |
Fanty: delete them ;-) |
| 13:52 |
Ceddo |
Hey, Ries, though you seem rather busy (and i will accept anyone else to answer, too, heh ;D) - is it possible to make Typo display the first four elements of equal level and the rest else where? |
| 13:52 |
Fanty |
getting a shell on the webserver is a pain : |
| 13:52 |
Denyerec |
Ceddo I do not understand. |
| 13:52 |
Fanty |
:P |
| 13:52 |
tobi |
Ceddo: that is what begin and max is |
| 13:52 |
Ceddo |
I have 7 menu items, 4 should be at one place, the other 3 several pixels below that (and with another font definition) |
| 13:52 |
Jigal |
Fanty: ftp user is not allowed to delete them? |
| 13:53 |
pulponair |
tobi: have a look at http://phpfi.com/210245 |
| 13:53 |
Denyerec |
are they sublevels? |
| 13:53 |
Ceddo |
tobi: care to give me an example? |
| 13:53 |
Fanty |
Jigal: its possible.. its just .. a pain each time :) |
| 13:53 |
Denyerec |
or are they all on the same level? |
| 13:53 |
Ceddo |
same level, 7 items at level 1. |
| 13:53 |
Denyerec |
you can use Optionsplit to do this. |
| 13:53 |
Denyerec |
There is a good example in "Typoscript by Example" |
| 13:53 |
tobi |
Ceddo: look at http://typo3.org/documentation/document-library/references/doc_core_tsref/4.0.0/view/8/11/ , begin and maxItems |
| 13:53 |
Jigal |
Fanty: write a cron job for it? |
| 13:53 |
Ceddo |
begin and max sounded rather splendid. |
| 13:53 |
tobi |
or option split could work too |
| 13:53 |
Ceddo |
Thanks, tobi. |
| 13:54 |
Denyerec |
:P |
| 13:54 |
Ceddo |
n aw, you are not. :D |
| 13:54 |
Ceddo |
I could offer you a straight stranger man hug. |
| 13:54 |
Denyerec |
I'm cool with that. |
| 13:54 |
Ceddo |
with the hug or with being invisible? |
| 13:55 |
Ceddo |
tobi: you hit my problem bulls eye, thanks! :) |
| 13:55 |
tobi |
pulponair: for a text object i would not use stdWrap.split, only split is enough |
| 13:55 |
Ceddo |
*dances occordingly* |
| 13:56 |
pulponair |
tobi: yes but it isnt working anyway :| |
| 13:57 |
Fanty |
Jigal: thats a pain too.. and brings a new set of anoyances ;) .. The hope was some "empty cache" option I haden't seen |
| 13:57 |
Jigal |
anyone with an answer on the sorting field question? |
| 13:57 |
Denyerec |
nO :( |
| 13:58 |
tobi |
pulponair: i tested this and it works: http://phpfi.com/210247 |
| 14:00 |
pulponair |
tobi: yes by setting it by hand it works vor me too strange |
| 14:01 |
pulponair |
tobi: perhabs insert data is processed after split? |
| 14:02 |
pulponair |
tobi: yes it is ...after seeting it to 10.data it worked |
| 14:03 |
tobi |
yes that was it |
| 14:03 |
tobi |
did not knew that too |
| 14:04 |
Ceddo |
Tobi, can i get a split minute of your time in your query? |
| 14:04 |
tobi |
yes |
| 14:05 |
Denyerec |
Someone get me a chainsaw. |
| 14:05 |
Denyerec |
I'm done with this. |
| 14:05 |
Denyerec |
>_< |
| 14:08 |
Jigal |
a bear trap, a large pit, shaking Ries, a chainsaw.... I'm getting worried about Denyerec |
| 14:09 |
tofirius |
i need help with the admin panel |
| 14:10 |
Denyerec |
Jigal - you have no idea how long I've been trying to sort this out. |
| 14:10 |
Denyerec |
I've exhausted everything I can think of and it's still broken. |
| 14:10 |
Denyerec |
Exhausted being the operative word, having only got to bed at 5am because of it. |
| 14:13 |
Jigal |
Denyerec: I'm totally ignorent of your problems. I was dealing with photoshop and the YahoUI-AJAX library for most of the day... I'll start reading your entries in this channel... |
| 14:17 |
Denyerec |
Jigal I'm trying to use a UserFunc to clean up the CROP feature |
| 14:17 |
Denyerec |
so you don't end up with invalid markup. |
| 14:17 |
Denyerec |
Dax gave me some code, but it's dying on a particular line. |
| 14:17 |
Denyerec |
Thing is, it's dying in a very odd way. |
| 14:18 |
Denyerec |
I can still output print_r and debug info after the bad line, but for some reason the execution of typo stops and the UserFunc doesn't appear to return., |
| 14:21 |
Jigal |
Denyerec: it can't be the case that with certain calls to this user function domxml_xmltree() doesn't return a domdocument object, so the call to get_elements_by_tagname() results in the usual call to non existing function error? >>> |
| 14:21 |
Jigal |
Denyerec: use your own log file and log more debug info (before and after the call). |
| 14:22 |
Denyerec |
There is no logfile |
| 14:22 |
Denyerec |
it's on a remote server :/ |
| 14:22 |
Denyerec |
There's no PHP error msgs or logs. |
| 14:22 |
Denyerec |
(I tried) |
| 14:22 |
Denyerec |
I need someone with a PHP4 server to try it out. |
| 14:22 |
Denyerec |
The thing is Jigal |
| 14:22 |
Denyerec |
That I print_r the return |
| 14:22 |
Denyerec |
and itlooks fine |
| 14:22 |
Denyerec |
and subsequent functions operate on the data just FINE |
| 14:23 |
Denyerec |
it's like it all goes well until the final return $content; |
| 14:23 |
Denyerec |
at which point it just doesn't |
| 14:23 |
Denyerec |
(return) |
| 14:23 |
Jigal |
you can also use you own logfile, or log to an error address! |
| 14:23 |
Denyerec |
I cannot reconfigure PHP, so can this be done through Typo? |
| 14:24 |
Jigal |
Denyerec: http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.error-log.php |
| 14:25 |
Denyerec |
Doesn't help much if I have to write my own error message. |
| 14:25 |
Denyerec |
I don't know what the error is! |
| 14:25 |
Jigal |
Denyerec: always put special markers/quotes around your debug output, so you can see that 'nothing' was output |
| 14:25 |
Denyerec |
But there*IS* output |
| 14:25 |
Denyerec |
There's output |
| 14:25 |
Denyerec |
and its passed to another function that WORKS |
| 14:26 |
Denyerec |
and the output from that function is as it should be. |
| 14:26 |
Denyerec |
but execution "Just seems to stop" at the return $content; |
| 14:26 |
Jigal |
Denyerec: you're not awake anymore :-) You can use error_log to log anything to either the error log, a tcp port, an e-mail address or a file of your own. |
| 14:26 |
Denyerec |
Jigal all the examples have error messages in |
| 14:27 |
Denyerec |
in fact the required parameter is "string $message" |
| 14:27 |
Denyerec |
and the whole issue is I don't know what the error is!! |
| 14:27 |
Denyerec |
There's not much point be sending "Err, yeah." to myself via email :( |
| 14:28 |
Jigal |
Denyerec: they're just examples. use error_log("This was received: ".$body, 3, "/var/www/vhost/mysite.com/pub/my_errors.log"); for example |
| 14:28 |
Denyerec |
I can echo $body out just fine |
| 14:28 |
Denyerec |
though. |
| 14:29 |
Denyerec |
That's what I've been saying... I can print_r / typo3debug / echo all these things |
| 14:29 |
Denyerec |
and they're all correct. |
| 14:29 |
j0hndeere |
Good morning, earth humans. |
| 14:29 |
Denyerec |
but execution is stopping at return $content if the get_elements_by_tagname() is executed. |
| 14:31 |
Denyerec |
If you tried running the code you'd see what I mean. |
| 14:32 |
Ries |
Denyerec: can you pm me? |
| 14:32 |
Jigal |
Denyerec: you only print_r($somevariable); what if the function was called a second time and $somevariable was empty, or a value that will result in and empty string output. (IIRC false will result in nothing being printed by print_r) |
| 14:32 |
tofirius |
hi all... |
| 14:32 |
brain-xy |
hi all |
| 14:32 |
tofirius |
can someone help me with the admin panel for frontend editing? |
| 14:32 |
Denyerec |
Well I used the Typo debug functions too |
| 14:33 |
Denyerec |
I see what you're saying though.... 2nd time around the userfunc. |
| 14:33 |
Denyerec |
Mind you when everything goes out of scope, it should be like the 1st time around again |
| 14:35 |
Jigal |
Denyerec: and you would see the correct output of the first call to the userfunc and nothing else because of the error in the call to get_elements_by_tagname()... |
| 14:35 |
Jigal |
(the second time) |
| 14:35 |
Denyerec |
Mmm |
| 14:35 |
Denyerec |
I see |
| 14:36 |
Jigal |
Therefore I suggested more output, also before the function call (length of $content, whatever) |
| 14:37 |
pulponair |
tobi: thank you for the split hint. I just finished my tab navigated FCE :) |
| 14:37 |
Jigal |
Denyerec: Then you will see: this is passed to the function, it results in an object or not, this is the result after the $doc->get_elem.... |
| 14:39 |
stefan-koch |

Denyerec |
it uses behaviour.js to re-write the HTML from the "non JS" HTML into onclick tabs like yours. |
| 15:16 |
Denyerec |
Just thought it was interesting. |
| 15:16 |
pulponair |
Denyerec: ah ok |
| 15:16 |
Denyerec |
If you view the page without JS, you see just standard content in the RHS |
| 15:17 |
pulponair |
Denyerec: cool |

m4rtijn |
hey, again I have a small problem.. Im using the old imagemick version which can be used on remote servers in the CGI-BIN... bit now I noticed that that script cant resize jpg files.. |

Am I right? or am I just doing smth wrong? |

pulponair: i think kraftb (?) wrote some ts extension for that. dont know if they are public tho |
| 15:26 |
Denyerec |
Hmmm. |

Denyerec |
How on earth do you get accesskeys into a TS Menu |
| 15:29 |
pulponair |
koomi: do you remember its extension key? |

pond |
Boonkers: you looking for work? You have experience with integrating auth tables from other oss projects? I need a "bridge for Simple Machines<==> TYPO3 |

problem solved.. seems to work fine now.. just updated the configuration |
| 15:31 |
koomi |

I have another question.. why is the "insert Link" icon unavailable in the Text editor.. when I Add an Content element "Text only" |
| 15:34 |
tofirius |
hi... |
| 15:34 |
tofirius |
i've asked about 8 times... can someone help me with the admin panel please? |
| 15:35 |
m4rtijn |

| 15:35 |
tofirius |
i can't get the admin panel to show up for any users... |
| 15:36 |
tofirius |

| 15:36 |
tofirius |
i started with the admin user first |
| 15:36 |
m4rtijn |
ah... you mean the frontend admin panel.. |
| 15:36 |
tofirius |
yep |
| 15:37 |
tofirius |

| 15:39 |
m4rtijn |
so... you login normally via the /typo3 login.. |
| 15:39 |
tofirius |
yeah |
| 15:39 |
m4rtijn |
do you have the option to choose "front end" there? |
| 15:39 |
tofirius |
i put it there, yes |
| 15:40 |
m4rtijn |
hmm, my book says... for admin users it is sufficient to set config.admPanel to 1 |
| 15:40 |
tofirius |
right |
| 15:40 |
tofirius |
that's what i read on the typo3.org site |
| 15:40 |
m4rtijn |
only for other users you have to do smth additionaly |
| 15:40 |
tofirius |
rigt |
| 15:40 |
tofirius |
right |
| 15:42 |
m4rtijn |

| 15:46 |
m4rtijn |
in the backend.. |
| 15:47 |
m4rtijn |
The Rich Text Editor has this "insert URL" button.. but it doesnt work |
| 15:55 |
j0hndeere |
m4rtijn: I always just do it in HTML mode |
| 15:55 |
j0hndeere |
it's buggy in the RTE, but it's never pestered me enough to pursue fixing it |
| 15:56 |
Matze87 |
where can i look up how to handle elements from tt_content, for example tt_content.login ? |
| 15:57 |
Matze87 |
I cant find it in the TSref |
| 15:59 |
m4rtijn |
yeah.. so would I j0hndeere, but I have a quite old customer.. like 60+ who would like to have it easier |
| 15:59 |
j0hndeere |
heh |
| 15:59 |
j0hndeere |
in five minutes I could teach a four year old how to use <a> tags |
| 16:00 |
j0hndeere |
but a 60+ year old... yeah, I know what you mean. |
| 16:00 |
j0hndeere |
I never researched why the Insert URL doesn't work though |
| 16:03 |
m4rtijn |
yeah.. its not that I couldnt teach him how to do it.. its just I would like to offer it as easy as possible |

I had to take a breather, it was frustrating me. |
| 16:05 |
Denyerec |
I will try in 5-10 minutes. |
| 16:08 |
j0hndeere |
m4rtijn, have you searched the bugs db for that? |
| 16:08 |
j0hndeere |
you'd think a problem that obvious would've been fixed long ago |
| 16:09 |
m4rtijn |
I dont think its a bug.. |
| 16:09 |
j0hndeere |
right, it's a missing feature :) |
| 16:10 |
m4rtijn |
But I was thinking of browsing the bugforum yeah |
| 16:10 |
pond |
I am donig a record select using pid's in a certain order, but when i get my data back from renderObj the pids are in a different order... |

| 16:10 |
m4rtijn |

I suppose it could conceivably be a switch you need to throw... like I said though, I haven't dug into it |

Denyerec |
its your PHP version |
| 16:13 |
Denyerec |
the ext manager is buggered on a couple of versions of PHP |
| 16:13 |
pond |
oh... its still screwed up? |
| 16:13 |
j0hndeere |
don't doubt it, Denyerec |
| 16:13 |
Denyerec |
on a couple of versions |
| 16:13 |
j0hndeere |
pond: oh yeah |
| 16:13 |
Denyerec |
I had to change my ver of PHP5 to get it going. |
| 16:13 |
pond |
no, we have a couple different sites working on the same server... and J0hndeere's doesn't |
| 16:14 |
pond |
I thought it was apache... |
| 16:14 |
pond |
um |
| 16:15 |
j0hndeere |
my kingdom for TemplaVoila :'( |
| 16:16 |
koomi |
your kingdom? |
| 16:16 |
j0hndeere |
wonder if I can grab it from typo3.org |
| 16:16 |
pond |
I can install it on the server from one of the other installs... |
| 16:16 |
pond |
let me look at your install though... one second |
| 16:19 |
pond |
man... its that weird "not enough memory error" |
| 16:19 |
pond |
I'll fix it... |
| 16:20 |
j0hndeere |
do you need a sledge for that? |
| 16:20 |
pond |
is anyone familiar with the select ... renderObj TS? |
| 16:22 |
Denyerec |
Does anyone have a typo3 site on a PHP4 server they'd be willing to let me test something on ? |
| 16:22 |
Denyerec |
I absolutely CANNOT fix this stupid goddamn userfunc |
| 16:25 |
pond |
yeah... I can paste some ts if you want... |
| 16:27 |
m4rtijn |
hm, I have a contact mail form on my page.. but the target.. the "thanks for contacting us" page opens a new window.. does anyone know how to get the page shown without opening a new page |
| 16:27 |
Denyerec |
Some setting in the TS someplace that controls how links behave I think |
| 16:28 |
Denyerec |
# Setting link targets to nothing (no frames mode) |
| 16:28 |
Denyerec |
PAGE_TARGET = |
| 16:28 |
Denyerec |
content.pageFrameObj = |
| 16:28 |
Denyerec |
I think. |
| 16:28 |
Denyerec |
What would i know tho, I can't even get a simple fkin userfunction to work :( |
| 16:29 |
Denyerec |
>_< *SO* frustrated. |
| 16:31 |
koomi |
m4rtijn: use constant editor: advanced: page target |
| 16:31 |
Denyerec |
Yeah or do that,. |
| 16:47 |
koomi |
hrhr Denyerec |

| 16:48 |
Denyerec |

| 16:50 |
koomi |
Denyerec: dunno. did you ask in #php or #php.* |
| 16:50 |
Lars_dk |
TYPO3 4.0.5 can that run with mysql 5 ? |
| 16:50 |
Denyerec |
#php is always full of arseholes. |
| 16:50 |
koomi |
Lars_dk: there's a compatibility mode for mysql5 |
| 16:50 |
koomi |
Denyerec: hmpf. |
| 16:51 |
Lars_dk |
okay |
| 17:02 |
m4rtijn |

| 17:02 |
m4rtijn |

| 17:03 |
koomi |
zat iz good me friend |
| 17:03 |
dax77 |
hi @all |
| 17:04 |
m4rtijn |

| 17:13 |
Denyerec |
Now.... You're not going anywhere. |
| 17:16 |
m4rtijn |
lol |
| 17:17 |
Lars_dk |
Can i overwrite existing file if i will update or shall I delet all files |
| 17:18 |
m4rtijn |
dax, do you maybe know why the "insert web link" is inactive in the TEXT content element? |
| 17:52 |
j0hndeere |
I have returned, humans. |
| 17:59 |
Denyerec |
dax77 you about? |
| 17:59 |
dax77 |
sry, no time :( |
| 18:01 |
Denyerec |
Your code breaks. |
| 18:01 |
Denyerec |
Just wanted to let you know :( |
| 18:01 |
Denyerec |
Seems to be server specific, with some VERY odd behaviour. |
| 18:11 |
Denyerec |
Anyone listening ? |
| 18:12 |
Denyerec |
A userFunc, should it be buried in a class? |
| 18:12 |
Denyerec |
If so, how do you call methods inside that class from the userFunc you call. |
| 18:12 |
Denyerec |
myClass::method() or $this->method(); |
| 18:12 |
Denyerec |
cos if it's not instantiated, then surely $this-> won't work |
| 18:18 |
kermit_green |
as it's not instantiated use myClass::mtehod() |
| 18:20 |
Denyerec |
ok good, that's what I'm using at the moment. |
| 18:20 |
Denyerec |
kermit_green does anyone in #typo-dev ever speak? :) |
| 18:20 |
Denyerec |
Seeing as how I caught you alive, I thought I'd ask :) |
| 18:20 |
kermit_green |
sometimes, if the right persons are present :-) |
| 18:21 |
Denyerec |
hehe |
| 18:21 |
Denyerec |
I will continue to idle |
| 18:21 |
kermit_green |
I don't know much IRC names |
| 18:21 |
pulponair |
anyone got a sample on t3lib_div::calluserfunc ? (in conjuction with -> and EXT)? |
| 18:21 |
kermit_green |
in conjunction with hooks ? |
| 18:22 |
Denyerec |
don't even mention Userfuncs in front of me pulp |
| 18:22 |
Denyerec |
I might cry |
| 18:22 |
pulponair |
yes |
| 18:22 |
Denyerec |
and that's not a pretty sight. |
| 18:24 |
pulponair |
kermit_green: i wonder about the correct syntax i need something like t3lib_div::calluserfunction("EXT:myext/pi1/class.myclasss_pi1 ->myfunction") |

argo2007 |
Hi can anyone help me with ritchtext editor config in 4.05 ???? |
| 20:58 |
argo2007 |
I want to attach a external css file so used contentCSS = fileadmin/lad/css/lad_main.css in pageTS |
| 20:58 |
uschi |
right, and, argo2007 ? |
| 20:59 |
uschi |
in the setup area of your template? |
| 20:59 |
uschi |
or (as it should be, because it is backend-configuration) in the page TSConfig section of the page properties? |
| 21:00 |
argo2007 |
well How do I get the dropdown selctor to open with my classes ?? / I followed the doc that came with htmlarea and insterted the default config but when I chg someting its grayedout |
| 21:01 |
argo2007 |
yes in the BE-?PageTS |
| 21:01 |
uschi |
but your css is loaded? |
| 21:01 |
uschi |
ok |
| 21:01 |
argo2007 |
yes I can see because it reacts on the BODY tag |
| 21:01 |
uschi |
fine, that is at least something |
| 21:01 |
argo2007 |
Specialy the <P> Tags are not showing |
| 21:02 |
uschi |
let me look at my own config, ok |
| 21:02 |
argo2007 |
in my css i wite like .clasname {value} and in PageTS i have classesParagraph ( text, largepromo ) |
| 21:02 |
uschi |
by the way, your editor is set to demo mode in the config in the ext manager? |
| 21:03 |
argo2007 |
ha thats why sometime's I get stose example tags ??? |
| 21:03 |
uschi |
oops, no, if you have your css in an external file you can write normal css code |
| 21:03 |
uschi |
no, demo is alright |
| 21:04 |
uschi |
i am using at as well, rte config is a horrible and tricky thing |
| 21:04 |
argo2007 |
No Its on Typical |
| 21:04 |
argo2007 |
man tell me been buzzy for 2 day's now |
| 21:04 |
uschi |
i know, we all go through this |
| 21:05 |
argo2007 |
well must Default configuration settings be set to DEMO or TYPICAL ? |
| 21:05 |
uschi |
depends on |
| 21:05 |
uschi |
my basis is demo |
| 21:06 |
uschi |
the demo thing gives you all buttons and every possibility |
| 21:07 |
uschi |
when you defined your classes in your css, did you write p.mystyle {} |
| 21:07 |
argo2007 |
Nope .mystale |
| 21:07 |
argo2007 |
;-) mystyle |
| 21:08 |
uschi |
1) you have to define those classes at least a dozend times |
| 21:08 |
uschi |
they have to be in - wait |
| 21:09 |
argo2007 |
I was afrait of that.... |
| 21:10 |
uschi |
# CSS-Klassen für Blockelemente |
| 21:10 |
uschi |
RTE.default.classesParagraph ( |
| 21:10 |
uschi |
quotation,indentL,reddy |
| 21:10 |
uschi |
) |
| 21:10 |
uschi |
are your classes for blockelements defined here? |
| 21:10 |
argo2007 |
yes |
| 21:10 |
uschi |
and is RTE.default.showTagFreeClasses = 1 |
| 21:11 |
argo2007 |
I have RTE.default { |
| 21:11 |
argo2007 |
classesParagraph ( text,largepromo ) |
| 21:13 |
argo2007 |
its just that that Paragraph selector stayes grayedout |
| 21:13 |
uschi |
look, if you defined your classes without the tag this means, RTE.default.showTagFreeClasses to 1 |
| 21:13 |
argo2007 |
RTE.default.showTagFreeClasses = 1 |
| 21:13 |
uschi |
are you sure that you are inside a paragraph |
| 21:13 |
argo2007 |
do not have that |
| 21:13 |
uschi |
? |
| 21:14 |
uschi |
put in in |
| 21:14 |
uschi |
or redefine you css classes |
| 21:14 |
argo2007 |
RTE.default.showTagFreeClasses is not set |
| 21:14 |
uschi |
then set it :) |
| 21:14 |
uschi |
perhaps it is 0 in default mode |
| 21:15 |
uschi |
i do not know by heart |
| 21:15 |
uschi |
i would have to look up the default setup |
| 21:15 |
argo2007 |
YES IT OPENED |
| 21:15 |
uschi |
ok, problem solved then? |
| 21:16 |
uschi |
are you german? |
| 21:16 |
argo2007 |
YES, now do i need to name all classes in proc.allowedClasses ??? |
| 21:17 |
argo2007 |
No Im Dutch |
| 21:17 |
argo2007 |
Living in Rockanje, thats near rotterdam |
| 21:17 |
uschi |
i can give you my RTE-Config as an example then (most comments in english) |
| 21:17 |
uschi |
but it is based on demo |
| 21:17 |
argo2007 |
I can read german ;-) |
| 21:17 |
uschi |
great |
| 21:18 |
argo2007 |
well thanks for your help ;-)) |
| 21:18 |
uschi |
i will post my config to phpfi or something, wait |
| 21:18 |
argo2007 |
and I would like an example if possible |
| 21:19 |
uschi |
and i made some notes on my website on what i found out, but that is in german |
| 21:20 |
uschi |
http://www.datenwolken.de/index.php?id=154 |
| 21:20 |
argo2007 |
pls tell me how to get it, im not aware of IRC things |
| 21:20 |
uschi |
i will copy my config out and give you the link |
| 21:21 |
argo2007 |
Danke |
| 21:23 |
argo2007 |
tested that proc.allowedClasses and its needed |
| 21:23 |
uschi |
http://phpfi.com/210509 |
| 21:23 |
uschi |
yes |
| 21:24 |
uschi |
there are some special things in my config, because i wanted typo3 to leave my div-tags alone |
| 21:26 |
argo2007 |
OK got it gonna studdy this tomorrow. Thanks for the help. |
| 21:26 |
uschi |
no prob |
| 21:26 |
uschi |
have a nice weekend :) |
| 21:27 |
argo2007 |
same to you! |
| 21:27 |
uschi |
thx |
| 21:42 |
argo2007 |
ok bye |
| 21:45 |
Denyerec |
How do you get accesskeys into a TS menu |
| 21:45 |
Denyerec |
this has been nagging me for some time now. |
| 21:46 |
uschi |
set the atagparams, i suppose |
| 21:46 |
uschi |
hi Denyerec, by the way |
| 21:48 |
Denyerec |
You solved it ? |
| 21:48 |
bedlamhotel |
Yes Denyerec, I saw you cursing about accesskeys yesterday. Two questions: |
| 21:48 |
bedlamhotel |
1. What does the intended output look like? |
| 21:48 |
bedlamhotel |
2. What are you getting instead? |
| 21:49 |
Denyerec |
bedlamhotel I've not tried yet, I'm merely thinking about it. |
| 21:49 |
uschi |
well, the a-element has an attribute accesskey |
| 21:49 |
Denyerec |
As you'd ideally want accesskeys on all the top levels. |
| 21:49 |
uschi |
well let me look |
| 21:49 |
Denyerec |
If not more. |
| 21:49 |
uschi |
not more |
| 21:49 |
uschi |
this drives people mad |
| 21:49 |
Denyerec |
And as the links are autogenerated, I wondered if there was a way to have Typo autogenerate them |
| 21:49 |
Denyerec |
(The accesskeys) |
| 21:49 |
Denyerec |
top levels then |
| 21:49 |
Denyerec |
(Which is nice as it simplifies the problem) |
| 21:50 |
uschi |
there is a convention meanwhile what should be used for which element |
| 21:50 |
uschi |
in the end, you should only use numbers |
| 21:50 |
Denyerec |
I would be happy with either :) |
| 21:50 |
uschi |
everything else fucks the configuration of peoples general shortcuts |
| 21:50 |
Denyerec |
I will be back in a bit... I'm going to be awake all night working anyway |
| 21:50 |
uschi |
+ up |
| 21:51 |
uschi |
you are someone who lives at night, right? |
| 21:53 |
bedlamhotel |
Deneyrec: But what do you want to achieve (code-wise)? Remember that optionsplit works on everything inside NO/ACT/CUR etc, so you should easily be able to define top-level stuff with NO.ATagParams = ... as Uschi suggested. |
| 21:53 |
uschi |
Denyerec, can you give me a hint what i can do with the Backend Editor Configuration in the template form? |
| 21:54 |
uschi |
what it is for, what i can do with it? |
| 21:54 |
uschi |
what is there to configure? |
| 22:36 |
Denyerec |
uschi - I'm not sure what you mean |
| 22:41 |
Irix |
Hello everyone, I'm trying to setup the tt_news module.. but when I have made a sys folder and set it as news and also put in news categories they show up on in the info, but I can't select them from the root tree.. they don't show up .. so when I make news I can't set it for specific categori.. anyone who can help me with this one.. ? :| |
| 22:43 |
Irix |
I mean I can see that on this specific sysfolder there is categories when I go to the tt_news category manager in the info menu.. but they don't show up in the tree when I make new news record |
| 22:46 |
Denyerec |
Hmmm |
| 22:46 |
Denyerec |
Have you set the record storage page in the news plugin to the ID of the sysfolder? |
| 22:56 |
nick108 |
Hi there, got a small problem with a *TYPO3 Fatal Error* |
| 22:56 |
nick108 |
Extension key "static_info_tables" was NOT loaded! (t3lib_extMgm::extRelPath) |
| 22:57 |
Irix |
Denyerec my sysfolder have Uid=3 so I should use that in the constants... I will show you in phpfi in a moment |
| 22:57 |
nick108 |
so I tried to remove static_info_tables for typo3conf/localconf.php and deleted the cache files, but to no avail :-( |
| 22:59 |
Irix |
Denyerec http://phpfi.com/210573 |
| 23:00 |
Denyerec |
Irix you should have: |
| 23:00 |
Denyerec |
pid_list= 11 |
| 23:00 |
Denyerec |
backPid= 11 |
| 23:00 |
Denyerec |
singlePid = 37 |
| 23:00 |
Denyerec |
where pid_list is the ID of the sysfolder |
| 23:00 |
Denyerec |
backPid is the ID of the page you go "back" to |
| 23:00 |
Denyerec |
and singlePid is the ID of the page you view single items on |
| 23:01 |
Irix |
:) thank you.. I'm quite new to tt_news |
| 23:01 |
Denyerec |
me too |
| 23:01 |
Denyerec |
I've just broken it more than you have. |
| 23:01 |
Denyerec |
And so have had to fix it more often. |
| 23:01 |
Denyerec |
You get used to it :) |
| 23:02 |
Irix |
hehe... I would love a really nice tutorial and instruction book on this module and the capabillities.. |
| 23:02 |
Irix |
;) |
| 23:02 |
bedlamhotel |
Irix: you know about the manual, right? (It's /very/ good...) |
| 23:03 |
Denyerec |
Lies |
| 23:03 |
Denyerec |
the t_news manual is so badly organised. |
| 23:03 |
Denyerec |
It's impossible to find what you want in it, unless by accident. |
| 23:03 |
Denyerec |
I should know. |
| 23:04 |
Irix |
I tried several times.. and I didn't get any luck on it. it was in fact first when I brought the "Mastering TypoScript" from Packt publishing.. |
| 23:04 |
Irix |
that I got some setup things |
| 23:04 |
Irix |
but still.. I'm quite lost.. |
| 23:07 |
Irix |
no offense to those who made it.. I really take of the hat.. but I would still like a more detailed instruction |
| 23:08 |
Irix |
:) |
| 23:08 |
Denyerec |
Have you read the short guide on Marley's Universe? |
| 23:16 |
Irix |
Denyerec maybe I do not recall.. maybe you can past the link ?:) |
| 23:16 |
Denyerec |
www.google.com ? :) |
| 23:16 |
Denyerec |
http://www.mcuniverse.com/TT_News.134.0.html |
| 23:17 |
Denyerec |
I think. |
| 23:17 |
Denyerec |
I wonder if tt_news has a website. |
| 23:17 |
Denyerec |
I'd love to know what was in the latest update. |
| 23:18 |
Irix |
I think thats 2.5.0 something.. It just been updated.. |
| 23:19 |
Irix |
yes I have read that one.. maybe one should make a complete manual over the tt_news module.. |
| 23:29 |
ira |
