| 00:24 |
tomyN |

| 00:25 |
Denyerec |
It doesn't run in Opera |
| 00:25 |
Denyerec |
So no. |
| 00:25 |
Denyerec |
I'm aware of it, though. |
| 00:25 |
tomyN |
how cares for opera? |
| 00:26 |
tomyN |
is there an alternative? |
| 00:26 |
Denyerec |
I do. |
| 00:26 |
Denyerec |
Um. |
| 00:26 |
Denyerec |
THAT I am not sure of. |
| 00:26 |
Denyerec |
It uses mootools |
| 00:26 |
Denyerec |
so he probably just buggered the transition chains |
| 00:27 |
tomyN |
It won't load my images |
| 00:57 |
tomyN |

tomyN |
just2b: No reason to be rude. I read it and apparently I haven't found it. Secondly TFM is horribly written. |
| 14:43 |

kaktuspalme check your private |

you can send me an improved version, would be glad |

| 14:46 |
typochur |
but stop crying around ... readin a bad manual is still easier then writing a new extension :p |
| 14:47 |
just2b |
lighty.. just telling that it is bad is not a helpful feedback.. it is the best rated extension by far, someone likes it |
| 14:47 |
jananne |
just2b: i already got it i see.. but... |
| 14:47 |
lighty |
yep, but the "I did it, what did you give me in exchange" is just not cool |
| 14:47 |
jananne |
it doesnt work yet when my client wants to add a new record with news_feedit |
| 14:48 |
tomyN |
The gallery is awesome, I really do like it. But, simply "loading pictures from a directory" didn't work that easy like it was described. It took me a while to figure out that I would need maybe and perhaps DAM. It works now ... because I read TFM. Thanks |
| 14:48 |
kaktuspalme |
thx lighty |
| 14:48 |
tomyN |
I didn't say it was back, fuck!!! I was asking how to change a word!!!! |
| 14:49 |
lighty |
kaktuspalme you're welcome |
| 14:49 |
just2b |
tomy it is in the first page when you search for rgsmoothgallery, it is on my website at least 2 times, it is the manual.. where else should I write it? |
| 14:49 |
typochur |
just2b, on your forehead? |
| 14:49 |
typochur |
this would be a good place i think ^^ |
| 14:49 |
just2b |
you dont need DAM |
| 14:50 |
just2b |
jananne because of cache? |
| 14:50 |
just2b |
i got no dam on my website and it works great |
| 14:52 |
tomyN |
it didn't work with out DAM, got a loader bar, and nothing happened then. I read over the FAQ, ... nothing. But hey, that's not my point. I was asking how I could do this here, if that's not allowed, what is this IRC for? |
| 14:53 |
just2b |
it is allowed, i just said that it is already in the manual |
| 14:53 |
just2b |
and as I said, no DAM @ rggooglemap.com and it works fine |
| 14:53 |
just2b |
re |
| 14:53 |
tomyN |
Index, keyword, ..., and I'll look it up |
| 14:53 |
tomyN |
I have the DAM now, and actually I like it |
| 14:54 |
just2b |
yeah it is in same cases a good thing |
| 14:55 |
jananne |
just2b: bcus of cache? i cleared my cache.. but i can't set news_feedit to let the newest record shown on top... |
| 14:55 |
jananne |
normal tt_news works :). just news_feedit (mth_feedit) doesn't |
| 14:55 |
just2b |
is it at the top after you cleared cache? |
| 14:56 |
jananne |
no |
| 14:56 |
jananne |
the normsal tt_news IS. but the added record with news_feedit is not |
| 14:56 |
just2b |
so take a look at the record in phpmyadmin what is differnt to the others... |
| 14:56 |
just2b |
the pid wrong, hidden, category wrong? |
| 14:57 |
jananne |
hmm just2b i'll take a look :) |
| 15:06 |
tomyN |
just2b: Not sure if you understood what I am looking word. The Label "Pictures" as a link, that opens the lightbox. Can that be changed? |
| 15:06 |
kaktuspalme |
lighty: it doesnt work, perhaps i have put the code into the wrong location |
| 15:07 |
kaktuspalme |
lighty: oh nice, it works, a little typo was the problem :) |
| 15:10 |
tomyN |
"looking for", gosh, too early for me |
| 15:16 |
kaktuspalme |
lighty: ok, only one problem, it shows now all content from the given pid, from any column, any idea? but it isnt a big problem, you helped enough thx for it |
| 15:18 |
just2b |
kaktuspalme which ts code? |
| 15:19 |
kaktuspalme |
just2b: query? |
| 15:19 |
just2b |
dont know what yo do ;) |
| 15:22 |
lighty |
kaktuspalme honestly, no idea for how to specify the column to use |
| 15:22 |
lighty |
really sorry |
| 15:23 |
just2b |
you need it in TS or in php? |
| 15:23 |
FloLeBlanc |
hi all |
| 15:24 |
just2b |
hi FloLeBlanc ;) |
| 15:24 |
FloLeBlanc |
anyone using mm_forum who can help me out with a layout problem (list_posts answer button should be on top AND bottom) |
| 15:25 |
just2b |
should be just a template issue |
| 15:26 |
FloLeBlanc |
that was what I thought too. however the button gets inserted via ###POST_OPTIONEN###, which only is replaced if put into the <!-- ###LIST_POSTS_END### begin --> section |
| 15:27 |
just2b |
so you need this section again too |
| 15:28 |
FloLeBlanc |
it seems pretty stupid to put the ###list_posts_end## on the top of the page doesn't it? :) |
| 15:29 |
just2b |
create a patch and upload it in the bugtracker of mittwald |
| 15:29 |
FloLeBlanc |
furthermore it just doesn't work :) |
| 15:30 |
FloLeBlanc |
well I thought perhaps there is a "good" way to solve this via TS or something, that's why I ask |
| 15:31 |
just2b |
no if there is this wrapper, it needs to be changed in php first |
| 15:31 |
FloLeBlanc |
hmm ok thx |
| 15:34 |
tomyN |
lighty: check your private messages |

ugly you mean lol |

no, I think the bottom menu is a cool feature - however, people don't want to think, they may not find it. |
| 16:11 |
lighty |
don't remember where I found it |
| 16:11 |
lighty |
but yeah it's really cool |

hi Denyerec hows it going? |
| 16:36 |
Denyerec |
meh |
| 16:36 |
Denyerec |
trying to collect money from clients now |
| 16:37 |
just2b |
for me? |

^^ |
| 16:42 |
Denyerec |
Heh you'd be lucky |
| 16:42 |
Denyerec |
can't afford to feed myself, let alone you :P |
| 16:59 |
isolysis |
anyone speak german? can please translate: IE5.x kollabierendes padding bei #main abfangen |
| 17:02 |
Denyerec |
Knowing IE5 it's probably something like "IE5 totally shits up the padding on #main, because it's an inconsolably useless pile of useless shit |
| 17:02 |
Denyerec |
" |
| 17:02 |
Denyerec |
But my German's not so good... |
| 17:02 |
just2b |
who needs ie5 |
| 17:02 |
gerards |
hey Denyerec i have problems with IE's z index. |
| 17:03 |
Denyerec |
gerards - join the rest of the planet |
| 17:03 |
Denyerec |
what's your problem? :) |
| 17:04 |
gerards |
my absolutely positioned menus appear behind A tags (which should be at a lower z index). whole thing looks friggin weird. |
| 17:04 |
gerards |
imagine dropdown menus, that don't appear 'on top' of the content below it. |
| 17:05 |
gerards |
seems like only the A tags 'stick through' to the drop down menu <div>s |
| 17:05 |
gerards |
I absolutely hate IE now. :( I thought I'd seen everything.... |
| 17:05 |
isolysis |
Denyerec: thanks, but i was hoping something more specific since i need to incorporate into the design for accuracy as it is for a hack which happened to affect IE6 also |
| 17:05 |
Denyerec |
Well |
| 17:06 |
Denyerec |
all I can say is that in IE6/5 padding does not make the box wider. |
| 17:06 |
Denyerec |
in Firefox it does |
| 17:06 |
Denyerec |
gerards - I know what you're on about |
| 17:06 |
Denyerec |
steal the CSS and JS from www.welshlawawards.com |
| 17:06 |
gerards |
isolysis: google 'box model IE bug' |
| 17:06 |
Denyerec |
I got it working on there, but I don't rememeber the specific fixes |
| 17:07 |
gerards |
thanks man. just for that, I'm eternally grateful. |
| 17:07 |
kaktuspalme |
many thx for the friendly help here |
| 17:07 |
kaktuspalme |
bye |
| 17:08 |
gerards |
eternally. |
| 17:08 |
gerards |
i'm outta here. thankgs guys |
| 17:09 |
tomyN |
isolysis: still interested in this translation? |
| 17:09 |
isolysis |
tomyN: please if you can |
| 17:10 |
tomyN |
sure, hold on, checking on the link you provided ... |
| 17:10 |
isolysis |
Denyerec, gerards: thanks i checked the box model bug, it appears to be that i think due to quirks mode |
| 17:10 |
isolysis |
tomyN: i didnt post any l inks |
| 17:11 |
tomyN |
this sentence: "IE5.x kollabierendes padding bei #main abfangen" |
| 17:11 |
gerards |
isolysis: yeah. if you've got the guts, you can make your html strict. :) |
| 17:11 |
isolysis |
tomyN: yeah |
| 17:11 |
isolysis |
gerards: i have it set to transitional but quirks mode is triggered in typo3 IE6 due a xml declaration |
| 17:12 |
just2b |
i never liked yaml ^^ |
| 17:12 |
isolysis |
just2b: the newer yaml is working quite well in general |
| 17:12 |
isolysis |
the extension version of it htat is |
| 17:12 |
isolysis |
the older one i had but was hard to maintain |
| 17:13 |
tomyN |
IE5.x collapsing padding can be controlled at or with #main. |
| 17:14 |
tomyN |
abfangen, to get something, to hold something, depends on the context |
| 17:15 |
tomyN |
I assume #main is a css entry? Hope this make sense to you. It's techno talk |
| 17:15 |
isolysis |
tomyN: thanks, that makes some sense, i just hope i understood it correctly in applying the css styles |
| 17:18 |
tomyN |
you'll find out ;-) |
| 17:20 |
tomyN |
time for breakfast, see ya later - thanks for helping!! |
| 17:36 |
myicq |
hello. Can anyone shed light on experience with "janitoring" news articles. Installation is simple enough, but what do you do when there are 100s of news items in the backend. |
| 17:36 |
myicq |
I use "mininews" (enough for my needs), this extensioni has no "do not show hidden". |
| 17:36 |
myicq |
do you use SQL commands in a script to purge / hide / archive. Or ? |
| 17:37 |
myicq |
no litterature explains this practical day-to-day problem. |
| 17:39 |
isolysis |
myicq: perhaps create news storage folders and new categories within to organize the content |
| 17:40 |
isolysis |
and then archive it too i think if that helps |
| 17:42 |
myicq |
I am just thinking: with more than .. say.. 50 news items, it will get hard to get an overview |
| 17:42 |
myicq |
it must be possible to do automagically. |
| 17:42 |
just2b |
why do yo need an overview? |
| 17:43 |
just2b |
work with the archive function... you just need to add records in BE |
| 17:44 |
myicq |
not sure that mininews has such function. So, I can move manually of course. |
| 17:44 |
just2b |
so use tt_news |
| 17:44 |
just2b |
maybe mininews is not enough... maybe it is just for mini things |
| 17:44 |
myicq |
hence the name.. :) |
| 17:45 |
myicq |
well, if I some day were to use scripting for the archival. What is the SQL to work with tstamps ? |
| 17:45 |
myicq |
(to get human-readable format) |
| 17:45 |
just2b |
it is funny.. buying a small car for 2 people (smart) and saying... this is enough for me and then complaining that your couch and plasma tv has got no place in it |
| 17:57 |
myicq |
well, not really. Though I see your point. |
| 17:58 |
myicq |
It's just that my "users" are not extremely tech-savvy, so I would like to make it easy for them. But I think I will try to look at tt_news then. |
| 17:58 |
myicq |
anyone have inputs on the tstamp>human-readable issue ? |
| 17:58 |

| 18:38 |
void |
Denyerec: btw, did you solve that directmail problem? |
| 18:38 |
Denyerec |
Which one ? |
| 18:38 |
Denyerec |
The HTML rendering |
| 18:38 |
Denyerec |
or the CSV address lists not mailling in HTML |
| 18:39 |
void |
when tt_news items disappear.. |
| 18:40 |
Denyerec |
Yeah fixed that one. |
| 18:43 |
Denyerec |
void - don't suppose you know much about the external links issue from the RTE ? |
| 18:43 |
Denyerec |
I tried a couple of things in the Page TS on the root page, but don't seem to be making much progress |
| 18:43 |
void |
which issue? |
| 18:43 |
Denyerec |
The author has set external links to show an icon next to them |
| 18:43 |
Denyerec |
But the path to the icon is thus: typo3conf/ext/rtehtmlarea/htmlarea/plugins/TYPO3Browsers/img/internal_link.gif |
| 18:43 |
Denyerec |
I found this link: |
| 18:43 |

| 18:44 |
Denyerec |
But the suggestion didn't appear to work, unless I screwed it up. |
| 18:55 |
Denyerec |
hey elbart |
| 18:55 |
Denyerec |
you ever done much with the RTE? |
| 18:55 |
elbart |
not much more than writing or switching it off :) |

hi, I will need to relink Typo3 to preinstalled ImageMagick on a Host Server. what is the difference between im_path and im_path_lzw ? |
| 20:00 |
isolysis |
tomyN: they should both be same really |
| 20:01 |
isolysis |
basically 4.2.9 version is using the lzw compression but later versions of IM stopped using it due to patent issues |
| 20:01 |
tomyN |
k, I figured it out! Thanks, that was actually very easy. www.bluehost.com - best I ever worked with so far |
| 20:01 |
isolysis |
you can set both variables to the same imagemagick path on your server, it wont do any harm |
| 20:03 |
tomyN |
ok, I have to work with 6.0.7, no other choice |
| 20:04 |
isolysis |
6.3.7 is the latest IM version i believe |
| 20:05 |
tomyN |
as long it works, I don't care. This is remote and I don't have root access d:) |
| 20:30 |
tomyN |
just2b you there? |
| 20:42 |
Denyerec |
Having trouble modifying the links/anchors that RTE generates |
| 20:43 |
Denyerec |
The changes I've made to the pageTS record don't seem to be making any difference, anyone got any pointers? |
| 20:47 |
Denyerec |
http://paste2.org/p/11945 |
| 20:47 |
Denyerec |
That should work, right ? |
| 20:47 |
Denyerec |
wait, Uschi did a lot with the RTE... |
| 20:52 |
Denyerec |
FFS |
| 20:52 |
Denyerec |
RTE.classesAnchor > doesn't even do anything |
| 21:00 |
isolysis |
hi Denyerec, ive never used the rte, seems too bloated.. i personally prefer to use plain html and assign classes to the text and let the stylesheets take care of it.. but if you are doing for a client theni guess yougotta keep at it |
| 21:01 |
Denyerec |
Indeed iso |
| 21:01 |
Denyerec |
I hate digging through other people's Typo sites |
| 21:01 |
Denyerec |
there's so many ways to do things, both as the site author and as the end user, that picking through smoeone elses minefield takes forever! |
| 21:06 |
isolysis |
maybe you should post your exact specific issue again |
| 21:10 |
s-andersen |
Hi, can someone tell me how I render related news in a tt_news singleview |
| 21:10 |
s-andersen |
I have added some typoscript like the manual said, but how do I render this typoscript? |
| 21:15 |
Denyerec |
Usually you drop a tt_news lugin onto a page. |
| 21:16 |
Denyerec |
then when you viist that page if you configured the plugin flexform properly, you should see your news. |
| 21:16 |
s-andersen |
I see the news, I do not see the related news that I have added to the record |
| 21:16 |
Lars_dk |
It is the news plugin ? |
| 21:17 |
s-andersen |
Yes |
| 21:17 |
Denyerec |
Ah |
| 21:17 |
Denyerec |
in which case you're going to have to modify the template that the single view is using. |
| 21:18 |
Denyerec |
Do you know, or did you specify a tt_news tamplate file for the plugin to use/ ~ |
| 21:18 |
s-andersen |
Oh, I just discovered a marker |
| 21:18 |
s-andersen |
I was just confused about how to do the actual rendering, but maybe this marker: ###NEWS_RELATED### can help me |
| 21:19 |
s-andersen |
Yes, exactly what I wanted |
| 21:19 |
Lars_dk |
ok |
| 21:26 |

Did anyone use an extension or script that reads in and displays Stock Quotes? |

Hi. I'm stuck with my default htmlArea RTE installation. I have Typo3 Version 4.1.2 and htmlArea RTE got installed with the core installation. But it is close to useless. I can't get it to use my CSS file styles, and I can't configure it to show all the style buttons. There are lots of suggested TS additions, but I don't know where to start. Any help will be REALLY APPRECIATED. |
