Hennes |
I don't know |
| 00:04 |
Hennes |
I don't think, I'm a freak.. |
| 00:05 |
Hennes |
;) |
| 00:11 |
Phlogi |
hehe, there is no newer tsref than 4.1? |
| 00:12 |
Phlogi |
look what I've done: a typo3 pastebin plugin with syntax highliting and linking to tsref.... (not all done by me actually) |

Phlogi |
what do you think? |
| 00:17 |
Hennes |
a moment please |
| 00:18 |
Hennes |
nice |
| 00:19 |
Hennes |
and it is easy to copy the code |
| 00:19 |
Phlogi |
hehe thanks |
| 00:19 |
Phlogi |
I'm still improving it |
| 00:19 |
Phlogi |
not sure how to display the infos about the post itself on top... |
| 00:21 |
Hennes |
I think some infos are not so important, so you can post it after the code |
| 00:21 |
Hennes |
for example the link to access |
| 00:23 |
Phlogi |
hmm I think the link is the most important thing... especially because the browser link will not link to the paste after a sending a new one |
| 00:25 |
Hennes |
ok... that an other situation I thought before |
| 00:26 |
Hennes |
so... I go to bed |

Are there a way to set "mod.SHARED.colPos_list = 1,0,2" on the current page. And on all subpages i should only be "mod.SHARED.colPos_list = 0"? |

d|g |
hi all |
| 11:53 |
jochke |
Anyone who know how to change translations in tt_news? I have a bug in ###BACK_TO_LIST### translation into danish. It's displayed at the bottom of the page http://shortlink.co.uk/um9. (<- tilbage til nyhedslisten) |
| 11:54 |
jochke |
And the same problem with the "Select a category:" translation on this page: http://shortlink.co.uk/uma |
| 11:57 |
Phlogi_ |
jochke: just edit the language file |
| 11:58 |
Phlogi_ |
best to do this is to use an extension |
| 11:58 |
daKmoR |
or edit the language file and send it to the autor... |
| 11:58 |
Phlogi_ |
llxmltranslate |
| 11:58 |
Phlogi_ |
locallang-XML translation tool (llxmltranslate) |
| 11:58 |
daKmoR |
I think he would be happy about a proper translation... |
| 11:59 |
Phlogi_ |
jochke: yes send the bugs back to the author |
| 12:30 |
jochke |
where do I find the language file? |
| 12:33 |
jochke |
Ahh I found something in Ext manager - edit files |
| 12:34 |
JohPie |
jochke: what do you want to do? |
| 12:35 |
jochke |
JohPie: correct some lang. translations in tt_news |
| 12:35 |
JohPie |
do you want change the translation? |
| 12:35 |
JohPie |
than do it in the TS of the template and not in the extension code |
| 12:36 |
jochke |
JohPie: There are some bug in the translation. |
| 12:37 |
JohPie |
ok... but report these bugs |
| 12:37 |
Phlogi_ |
jochke: I told you to use that extension. Its very easy to do it with that tool |
| 12:38 |
Phlogi_ |
furthermore changes will be kept when you update tt_news |
| 12:38 |
jochke |
Phlogi_: Ahh that I'll try. |
| 12:39 |
Phlogi_ |
:) |
| 12:42 |
d|g |
jochke, try this http://phpfi.com/336248 |
| 12:43 |
d|g |
in TS Template |
| 12:46 |
jochke |
d|g: Is TS Template the TSconfig for the page? |
| 12:46 |
d|g |
no |
| 12:48 |
jochke |
Ahh I found the right place to put the code. It's not easy this typo3. |
| 12:50 |
d|g |
Web > Template > Info/Modify |
| 13:10 |
Phlogi_ |
d|g: you might wana use my TS pastebin soon :) |
| 13:13 |
Phlogi_ |
d|g: it would have told you that one end brace is missing ;) |
| 13:29 |
devcow |

| 13:40 |
JohPie |
Does anybody knew anything about dam version 1.1 ? |
| 13:46 |
d|g |
Phlogi_, you are right, missing } in my code =) |
| 13:50 |
Phlogi_ |
hehe :) d|g |
| 14:10 |
jochke |
Does aynyone know, if it's possible to let a user/usergroup only have permission to use a specific news category in tt_news? So I actualle can set the usergroup "car_editors" to post to the category "cars"? |
| 14:11 |
Tsoots |
jochke, yes that's possible |
| 14:12 |
davidbrunnthaler |
how can i disable the context-menu in the list view? |
| 14:12 |
jochke |
Tsoots: Do you know if I need to write TS code, or there is a gui easy way to do it? |
| 14:12 |
Tsoots |
gui |
| 14:13 |
Tsoots |
have you actually tried setting up a user group? |
| 14:13 |
Tsoots |
it's there |
| 14:15 |
jochke |
Ahh yah... Found the featyre at the "Extended" tab. |
| 14:20 |
mklappstuhl |
could anybody say me how to configure a spacer which divides 2 menus |
| 14:34 |
mklappstuhl |
does anybody know how to stop the auto generation of a menu out of the pagetree with a spacer ??? |
| 15:04 |
michael_ |
does typo3 have security issues? |
| 15:18 |
ries |
mklappstuhl: don't render the spacer? |
| 15:29 |
Phlogi_ |
hey ries |
| 15:29 |
ries |
hey Phlogi_ |
| 15:29 |
Phlogi_ |
are you able to change the topic here? |
| 15:29 |
ries |
I guess so... |
| 15:29 |
ries |
did I miss anything?? :D |
| 15:30 |
Phlogi_ |
no no, I'm working on a typoscript pastebin... |
| 15:30 |
Phlogi_ |
it does report syntax errors too and links to the tsref for the objects |
| 15:30 |
Phlogi_ |
So I hope you will include it here in the topic so ppl start using it |
| 15:31 |
ries |
Ahhhh ok... yeaaa I can add that URL |
| 15:33 |
Phlogi_ |
hehe |
| 15:33 |
Phlogi_ |
its kind of cool... but I fail at configure my .htaccess so that paste.mydomain.net/zxy becomes mydomain.net/foo/bar/zxy :( |
| 15:35 |
Phlogi_ |
thats my current code, maybe someone can help? http://rafb.net/p/VvjoDm44.html |
| 15:36 |
ries |
I am not a rewrite guru... but doesn't that always happen? |
| 15:36 |
Phlogi_ |
hmm nope, not on my server... or what do you mean? |
| 15:43 |
ries |
what are you trying to accomplish? |
| 15:47 |
Phlogi_ |
fixed it thanks :) |
| 15:47 |
Phlogi_ |
ries: you might wana check out: paste.phlogi.net |
| 15:48 |
Phlogi_ |
its not finished yet |
| 15:49 |
ries |
let me know when it's finished, then I'll add the URL |
| 15:51 |
Phlogi_ |
ries: do you like then? :) |
| 15:51 |
ries |
I think you need to change the fields around... |
| 15:51 |
ries |
much liek pastebin.com |
| 15:51 |
ries |
first the paste.. then ask for additional info |
| 15:54 |
Phlogi_ |
ries: hehe ok |
| 15:54 |
ries |
make it full screen helps to I think |
| 16:01 |
Phlogi_ |
ok I'll check that |
| 16:01 |
Phlogi_ |
I'm still having redirecting issues :S |
| 16:09 |
ries |
Phlogi_: why not create a virtual host? |
| 16:09 |
Phlogi_ |
its not a root server |
| 16:10 |
ries |
what the hell is a root server? |
| 16:10 |
ries |
can't you not create additional virtual hosts? |
| 16:11 |
Phlogi_ |
nope of course not :) |
| 16:11 |
ries |
weird.... |
| 16:11 |
Phlogi_ |
at least I don't think so |
| 16:11 |
Phlogi_ |
hmm anyway I would still have the issue imho |
| 16:11 |
ries |
I even seen these panel host that you can do it... |
| 16:11 |
Phlogi_ |
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://paste\.phlogi\.net/$ [NC] |
| 16:11 |
Phlogi_ |
whats wrong with that? |
| 16:12 |
Phlogi_ |
I need a condition if only the subdomain is called without /foobar |
| 16:12 |
ries |
Phlogi_: for me to long ago since I did that stuff |
| 16:15 |
Phlogi_ |
ah finally :) |
| 16:15 |
Phlogi_ |
I hope at least |
| 16:40 |
RoyalKnight_ |
Phlogi_: i think you should use REQUEST_URI instead of HTTP_REFERER |
| 17:02 |
davidbrunnthaler |
how can i replace a whole div but also replace a single word? is this possible at all? |
| 17:19 |
ries |
davidbrunnthaler: Q: why not put the right element instead of replacing the div? |
| 17:20 |
ries |
you can replace a single word, depends on what and where... might not be build in on what you are planning to do |
| 17:21 |
yacc |
Any idea what could cause Apache to log an 500 when accessing index.php, but nothing to error.log? |
| 17:22 |
yacc |
88.117.82.255 - - [27/Jul/2008:08:28:34 -0700] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 500 - "-" "curl/7.18.0 (i486-pc-linux-gnu) libcurl/7.18.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8g zlib/1.2.3.3 libidn/1.1" |
| 17:22 |
ries |
yacc: check your php.loh |
| 17:22 |
ries |
log |
| 17:22 |
yacc |
ries: Where? |
| 17:23 |
ries |
whew php stores the log... depends on your system |
| 17:23 |
yacc |
ries: Ubuntu stock install? |
| 17:23 |
ries |
no clue... really |
| 17:23 |
ries |
check php.ini for the location |
| 17:23 |
yacc |
Nothing called php\*.log in either /var/log or /mnt/dgs :( |
| 17:24 |
ries |
yacc: check php.ini for it's location |
| 17:24 |
ries |
it might not be enabled by default |
| 17:24 |
yacc |
it's disabled, yeah. |
| 17:26 |
ries |
yacc: 500 means something bad happens... so PHP might have been crashing... apache doesn't know then what was going on |
| 17:27 |
yacc |
ries: well, it's a new server, restoring a site that seems to be running ancient stuff. |
| 17:28 |
ries |
yacc: then having the log enabled is a must..... and properly will tell you what was going (wr)on(g) |
| 17:30 |
yacc |
The bad is that php.log does not get created it seems :( |
| 17:30 |
ries |
yacc: did you restart apache? |
| 17:30 |
yacc |
yes. |
| 17:30 |
yacc |
A test.php that contains no PHP code works. |
| 17:31 |
ries |
you must have done something wrong in the php.ini... |
| 17:31 |
ries |
OR php will create the file as soon as it has something to say in the log |
| 17:33 |
yacc |
Ok, I've created php.log, I've made it world writeable, and I made the parent directory searchable (a+x) for world. |
| 17:33 |
yacc |
Still no output :( |
| 17:34 |
ries |
don't create a php.log file... |
| 17:34 |
ries |
it will get created for you |
| 17:34 |
ries |
where are you putting it? |
| 17:35 |
yacc |
Well, now I put it in /tmp/ |
| 17:35 |
yacc |
No php log for me even in /tmp/ |
| 17:35 |
ries |
... |
| 17:35 |
ries |
/tmp/php.log sounds good |
| 17:35 |
yacc |
Still not there :( |
| 17:36 |
yacc |
Now that is peachy. |
| 17:36 |
yacc |
I've installed php5-cli |
| 17:36 |
yacc |
I'm trying to run /mnt/dgs/index.php via the cli, and get no output? |
| 17:37 |
ries |
clie should tell you some errors I think |
| 17:37 |
ries |
But I never done much cli work |
| 17:37 |
yacc |
ries: I'm getting no output, exit code 255 |
| 17:38 |
davidbrunnthaler |
ries: http://phpfi.com/336305 that's what my template looks like |
| 17:39 |
davidbrunnthaler |
and i now would like to replace the div with styles.content.get (i already did it) |
| 17:39 |
davidbrunnthaler |
but that would also replace the marker |
| 17:39 |
yacc |
ries: Running php on a dummy file echos the content, so the php cli works basically :( |
| 17:40 |
ries |
yacc: must be something in the PHP code then |
| 17:40 |
davidbrunnthaler |
is it possible at all? or should i rethink my template? |
| 17:40 |
ries |
davidbrunnthaler: Hmm that's the old fashioned way I don't know much about.... |
| 17:40 |
ries |
possible it's possible, but I have use templavoila only |
| 17:40 |
ries |
brb |
| 17:41 |
yacc |
ries: yeah, but how do I figure it out? |
| 17:41 |
davidbrunnthaler |
i don't use templa voila |
| 17:44 |
RoyalKnight_ |
yacc: do you get an output for phpinfo()? is php running as module or through cgi? |
| 17:45 |
yacc |
RoyalKnight_, currently I'm trying it out with the cmdline, and I'm getting exit code 255/no output. But the install is fine, because Hello World and echoing files works fine. |
| 17:46 |
psychomieze |
davidbrunnthaler: is this the same thing you just wrote in the mailinglist about? |
| 17:46 |
davidbrunnthaler |
jup |
| 17:47 |
RoyalKnight_ |
yacc: you get this return code when you call your script in command line returning error 500 in your browser? |
| 17:47 |
yacc |
yes, and no error.log, nor php.log output. |
| 17:48 |
yacc |
RoyalKnight_, It's a typo3 site that I'm trying to restore, that has been not updated for a long time. |
| 17:48 |
ries |
yacc: I don't think that php created a php.log under cli mode |
| 17:48 |
yacc |
ries, it did not do it with Apache either. |
| 17:49 |
RoyalKnight_ |
yacc: have you installed mod_php, suphp or the cgi-version? |
| 17:49 |
yacc |
mod_php |
| 17:49 |
yacc |
But I've tracked it a bit already. |
| 17:49 |
yacc |
It does not find TSlib. |
| 17:50 |
yacc |
echo "X";echo $PATH_tslib;echo "X"; gives a unnice XX output. |
| 17:52 |
RoyalKnight_ |
yacc: any errors in install tool? |
| 17:53 |
yacc |
RoyalKnight_, I cannot run the install tool? |
| 17:53 |
yacc |
RoyalKnight_, first it's already an existing site, but worse, I'm getting that error when trying to run the index.php on toplevel. |
| 17:54 |
yacc |
But I'm tracking it down slowly. |
| 17:54 |
yacc |
define('PATH_thisScript',str_replace('//','/', str_replace('\\','/', (php_sapi_name()=='cgi'||php_sapi_name()=='isapi' ||php_sapi_name()=\ |
| 17:54 |
yacc |
='cgi-fcgi')&&($_SERVER['ORIG_PATH_TRANSLATED']?$_SERVER['ORIG_PATH_TRANSLATED']:$_SERVER['PATH_TRANSLATED'])? ($_SERVER['ORIG_PATH_TRANS\ |
| 17:54 |
yacc |
LATED']?$_SERVER['ORIG_PATH_TRANSLATED']:$_SERVER['PATH_TRANSLATED']):($_SERVER['ORIG_SCRIPT_FILENAME']?$_SERVER['ORIG_SCRIPT_FILENAME']:\ |
| 17:54 |
yacc |
$_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME'])))); |
| 17:54 |
yacc |
This define gives me an empty string, when run under Apache? |
| 17:54 |
ries |
yacc: are symlinks allowed in PHP? |
| 17:55 |
yacc |
ries? |
| 17:55 |
ries |
yacc: there is an option in apache to follow symlinks or not... |
| 17:56 |
ries |
I assume you are using the unix packages of-course |
| 17:57 |
yacc |
Ubuntu Hardy Server image. |
| 17:58 |
ries |
unix packages of TYPO3 I mean |
| 17:59 |
yacc |
No, I've got an ugly tree.zip, that seems to come from an ancient MSWindows setup package. |
| 17:59 |
ries |
Hmmm sorry to hear windows |
| 18:00 |
yacc |
1. About this package |
| 18:00 |
yacc |
****************************************** |
| 18:00 |
yacc |
Please note that you have downloaded the "dummy.zip" package. This package |
| 18:00 |
yacc |
contains Typo3's core files and a database file with a clean pagetree BUT |
| 18:00 |
yacc |
with an admin user already configured (user: admin, password: password). |
| 18:00 |
yacc |
Note that some files and folders are duplicated in order to work on Windows |
| 18:00 |
yacc |
systems. |
| 18:00 |
ries |
should work under unix though |
| 18:00 |
yacc |
Windows is one thing, the other one is that the package as such seems to come from a different epoch. |
| 18:00 |
ries |
what version of typo3? |
| 18:01 |
yacc |
How do I check? |
| 18:01 |
yacc |
README.txt has a 2002 timestamp |
| 18:01 |
yacc |
4.1.1 |
| 18:01 |
ries |
that's an 'ok' version |
| 18:02 |
ries |
should work on php5 if I remember |
| 18:02 |
yacc |
Well, I still cannot get it to figure out it's own path. |
| 18:02 |
ries |
some extensions might not |
| 18:02 |
yacc |
Yeah, but that does not solve the question why it's dieing on me? |
| 18:03 |
yacc |
The exit 255 seems to be the die in index.php that it could not figure out the path to tslib |
| 18:03 |
ries |
I never seen that issue on ubuntu... |
| 18:03 |
ries |
the zip comes from a windows machine? sure? |
| 18:04 |
yacc |
Well, no, it came from an unspecified Shared Hosting Linux box. |
| 18:04 |
ries |
what's your directory layout? |
| 18:05 |
yacc |
Let's put it bluntly, it has been thrown to me by the former service provider that does not want to bother to help the customer nor me, he just wants the customer gone, as the site has generated to much load on his hardware ;( |
| 18:05 |
Phlogi_ |
ries: so what do you think now: paste.phlogi.net/ |
| 18:06 |
Phlogi_ |
I'm running out of time for this... I hope thats enough for the moment now... |
| 18:06 |
ries |
yacc: hehehe I accespted a client like that one day... it's good fun :D |
| 18:06 |
yacc |
ries, not if it's your first typo3 install too. |
| 18:07 |
ries |
Hmm yeaaa then that sucks.... |
| 18:09 |
Phlogi_ |
ries: you might just replace the link in the topic? :) |
| 18:10 |
ries |
give me a minute to figure out how to create ops status again :D |
| 18:10 |
Phlogi_ |
ries: hihi no problem :D |
| 18:10 |
Phlogi_ |
are you still loggin the channel actually? |
| 18:10 |
ries |
I think so |
| 18:11 |
Phlogi_ |
gg |
| 18:13 |
psychomieze |
Phlogi_: you finished it? just tried it... but one question: where does the <x> come from? paste.phlogi.net/-5b8b22995b/ |
| 18:15 |
yacc |
ries: when I paste the <?php ?> stuff from index.php into a test.php, and hardcode the path, I get NO output from the <?php ?> at all, but it copies the text around the <?php ?> |
| 18:15 |
Phlogi_ |
yacc: whats your problem actually? |
| 18:15 |
yacc |
Phlogi_, I get a 500 in Apache, no error.log nor php.log, and when I try to run it via php cli, I'm getting exit code 255 and no output at all. |
| 18:15 |
Phlogi_ |
psychomieze: hmm from removeXSS I guess |
| 18:15 |
Phlogi_ |
thats one problem remaining |
| 18:15 |
Phlogi_ |
psychomieze: I need to make that function less aggressive |
| 18:16 |
Phlogi_ |
psychomieze: I'm using this function: http://rafb.net/p/PoHfLC82.html |
| 18:16 |
psychomieze |
Phlogi_: ah... it thought my styles was a style tag or something like that |
| 18:16 |
Phlogi_ |
exactly yes... |
| 18:16 |
Phlogi_ |
and thats how it entschäfts it |
| 18:17 |
Phlogi_ |
I never actually looked at that function... as it looks a bit crytpic... if you have an idea, you're welcome to help |
| 18:17 |
Phlogi_ |
or maybe you even know a better solution |
| 18:20 |
psychomieze |
Phlogi_: that's the same TYPO3 uses (t3lib_div::removeXSS), so I don't really know a better one... one thing though comes to my mind: one could insert - instead of <x> - perhaps something like <span style="display:none";></span> - that should work too, shouldn't it? |
| 18:21 |
Phlogi_ |
psychomieze: yes good idea |
| 18:22 |
Phlogi_ |
psychomieze: hmm afterwards its displayed in <pre> anyway... so that span would be displayed as span bla |
| 18:24 |
psychomieze |
hmm... ok. that would be as bad as now. |
| 18:25 |
psychomieze |
another question: are malicious tags wrapped in <pre> dangerous? <- read: are they executed? |
| 18:26 |
Phlogi_ |
psychomieze: nope I don't think so |
| 18:26 |
Phlogi_ |
hmm or wait |
| 18:26 |
Phlogi_ |
they are, of course |
| 18:26 |
Phlogi_ |
wondering why that span got displayed |
| 18:26 |
Phlogi_ |
need to check that |
| 18:29 |
Phlogi_ |
psychomieze: paste.phlogi.net/-d16dee7589/ <- strange somehow |
| 18:30 |
psychomieze |
Phlogi_: ok, I can explain that: you are not allowed to have spans inside of spans... and that's what we have here |
| 18:31 |
Phlogi_ |
ah what I thought :) |
| 18:31 |
Phlogi_ |
hehe |
| 18:31 |
psychomieze |
try, I don't know... strong or something |
| 18:33 |
psychomieze |

Does anyone know an extension that open a new window after click the item in the BE Menu of TYPO3? |
| 18:36 |
JohPie |
or know a way to do this with an own extension |
| 18:37 |
yacc |
ries: so what should I try now, I mean Typo3 does not show up in Apache? Any ideas? |
| 18:39 |
Phlogi_ |
ries: are still figuring out? :D |
| 18:54 |
psychomieze |
Phlogi_: have you found a way already? |
| 18:54 |
Stoffel |
hi everyone |
| 18:54 |
psychomieze |
hi |
| 18:55 |
Phlogi_ |
psychomieze: not really... but I don't think its a real problem if these are allowed |
| 18:55 |
ries |
Phlogi_: what URL? |
| 18:55 |
Phlogi_ |
other pastebin services don't filter them out |
| 18:55 |
Phlogi_ |
paste.phlogi.net |
| 18:56 |
Phlogi_ |
or http://paste.phlogi.net |
| 18:56 |
Phlogi_ |
psychomieze: maybe I should use htmlentities on the string aswell? |
| 18:56 |
Phlogi_ |
ries: thanks a lot :) |
| 18:57 |
Phlogi_ |
I hope ppl will like it |
| 18:57 |
psychomieze |
Phlogi_: that could work... as long as it doesn't show tags with > that would be ugly if one pasted some wraps |
| 18:57 |
ries |
Phlogi_: log still works :D http://www.rvantwisk.nl/index.php?id=113&tx_rvteggdroplog_pi1[year]=2008&tx_rvteggdroplog_pi1[month]=7&tx_rvteggdroplog_pi1[day]=27&cHash=8d1d3726c0 |

were there some significant changes how BE-users are handled, say, between 3.8 and 4.2? |
| 18:57 |
Phlogi_ |
psychomieze: hmm thats true... |
| 18:58 |
Phlogi_ |
psychomieze: I'm not sure what I should do : |
| 18:58 |
ries |
Phlogi_: I get this url, is that good? http://www.phlogi.net/t3/tspastebin/ |
| 18:58 |
Phlogi_ |
ries: thats perfect yes :) |
| 18:58 |
Stoffel |
somehow i can't setup a non-admin BE-user to manage FE-user records.. |
| 18:58 |
Phlogi_ |
that was the point with redirecting ries... |
| 18:58 |
Stoffel |
since i'm missing the option which records he is able to see |
| 18:59 |
psychomieze |
Stoffel: in his user group the "include access list" checkbox has to be checked, then you can select what he is allowed to see and edit |
| 19:01 |
Stoffel |
psychomieze: arg.. it's been too long for me without typo3. i'm doing the same newbie-mistakes again. thank you very much :-) |
| 19:01 |
psychomieze |
Stoffel: no problem :) |
| 19:13 |
Phlogi_ |
I hope someone pastes some TS soon :D |
| 19:35 |

Are there a way to get news and calendar items be published/shown immediately when you have made them? I'm using tt_news and calender base. |
| 19:39 |
jochke_ |
Is the only way to disable caching of the page? |
| 19:47 |
Awillys |
anyone around? |
| 19:50 |
chefan |
jochke_: caching depends on the type of the plugin. |
| 19:50 |
chefan |
you could check how that is set in the extensions |
| 19:50 |
chefan |
for best performance, you typically want as much to be cached as possible |
| 19:51 |
jochke_ |
chefan: Yah. I found out, that it worked on tt_news, when I disabled caching on the page. But it didn't helped with cal base. |
| 19:52 |
chefan |
it is almost "best worst practice" to set whole pages to no cache pragma for many, but that recuces your systems performance |
| 19:52 |
chefan |
i haven't used cal base yet. what's the extension type? |
| 19:56 |
jochke_ |
chefan: extension type? :S |
| 19:57 |
jan28 |
hey guys, anyone here who might want to help me with a little problem? |
| 19:59 |
jan28 |
nobody? :( |
| 20:01 |
chefan |
jan28: best practise is to just state the problem first |
| 20:01 |
chefan |
saves the noise of "i will", "oops, i have no idea about that" |
| 20:02 |
JohPie |
chefan: jan is gone |
| 20:02 |
chefan |
lol |
| 20:03 |
chefan |
though i didn't expect that i should have known. wasn't worth /names though |
| 20:03 |
chefan |
anyway it's even more fun like that |
| 20:07 |
Phlogi_ |
haha |
| 20:08 |
Phlogi_ |
latest tsref is for 4.1, correct? |
| 20:08 |
JohPie |
I think so... |
| 20:11 |
Phlogi_ |
strange but ok :) |
| 20:11 |
JohPie |
Phlogi_: the last doc_core_tsref is 4.1 from 2007 |
| 20:11 |
JohPie |
see Extension Repository |
| 20:11 |
Phlogi_ |
yes |
| 20:11 |
Phlogi_ |
I know |
| 20:12 |
chefan |
hell, it takes me more than a minute eve if my wife asks me favors and doesn't state what she wants first |
| 20:13 |
chefan |
way too dangerous to commit to things like that without checking first |
| 20:28 |
Phlogi_ |
chefan: hihi |
| 20:34 |
jochke_ |
Anyone who have experience with disabling caching in calendar base? I can't find how to do that. |
| 20:35 |
jan28 |
hi everyone. i want to create a menu using two gmenus for two levels. now i've set a background image for the first gmenu (level 1). this covers the whole first level. but if a the menu, is expanded the level 1 items may be on another position (depends on which item is expanded). there the image of the old position is used not the image of the new position. how can i fix this? |
| 20:41 |
jan28 |
i made a picture to make it clear: http://img366.imageshack.us/img366/155/thxiu0.jpg |
| 20:46 |
jan28 |
are you all busy or do you just decide to let my stand in the rain? |
| 20:47 |
psychomieze |
jan28: I'm not busy but I don't know how to help you. |
| 20:48 |
jan28 |
thx for an answer at all |
| 20:53 |
chefan |
jan28: your choice to feel offended, but it won't help you much |
| 20:54 |
Chrisi81 |
excuse me if thats a newbee question: Is it possible to alter the output of what is rendered from the tt_content table? |
| 20:54 |
chefan |
have a bit of patience. if someone knew an easy answer and had the time to give it, you'd prolly have your solution already |
| 20:55 |
chefan |
Chrisi81: you can alter everything, and if you do it with hooking into the output part of the rendering process |
| 20:55 |
Chrisi81 |
I mean: An editor adds some text in the backend. I want to alter some of the text through typoscript. |
| 20:56 |
Chrisi81 |
my idea is that if the editor enters ###somemarker### in the textfield in the backend i want to adress that thing through thyposcript |
| 20:56 |
Chrisi81 |
-h |
| 20:57 |
Chrisi81 |
chefan: ok that point is clear, but i like it simple as above... |
| 20:58 |
chefan |
yep, that's why i didn't say more. typoscript is not my world ;) |
| 20:59 |
chefan |
they don't use me for that |
| 21:02 |
Chrisi81 |
chefan: thx anyway, at least someone who listens to me ;-) |
| 21:23 |

Is typo3 the right CMS if I've writers which doesn't exactly know what they do (or let's say they're "just word users")? |
| 21:25 |
chefan |
let's say it can be the right cms |
| 21:25 |
chefan |
depends on how you set it up |
| 21:25 |
chefan |
with the writers how you describe them, i'd aim for frontend editing with rtf-editor for instance |
| 21:30 |
Mirrakor |
Current workflow is -> Writer write text in Word with pictures and everything. Here OOo does the extracting (text and pictures), then we've to use quanta or whatever fits to create a whole new page, uploading it, uploading the pictures, create a new link on the startsite |
| 21:30 |
Mirrakor |
I'd like to automate that |
| 21:30 |
Mirrakor |
or at least simplyfie it |
| 21:34 |
Mirrakor |
ch |
| 21:34 |
Mirrakor |
chefan: Think that this is the right approach? |
| 21:36 |
chefan |
that could work. the openoffice conversion works quite well, though i haven't checked how high the bloat factor is |
| 21:36 |
chefan |
personally i'd use more of a wysiwyg approach |
| 21:37 |
Mirrakor |
OOo bloating is too big :D |
| 21:37 |
chefan |
like a frontend editing form with richtext |
| 21:37 |
Mirrakor |
Also the approche should be that the writers are more independent |
| 21:37 |
chefan |
i would probably aim for simplified wiki style |
| 21:38 |
Mirrakor |
hm.. another idea |
| 21:38 |
chefan |
with a lot of autoformatting |
| 21:38 |
Mirrakor |
but we've an already existing style which we're bound to |
| 21:38 |
chefan |
you could even request raw texts from the authors and tex them |
| 21:38 |
chefan |
i supposed so |
| 21:39 |
chefan |
actually that was the reason why i wouldn't offer too many formatting possibilities to the authors, but look for a way to do the formatting automagically |
| 21:40 |
chefan |
let them decide what a paragraph and a headline is, as well as in which text block they want illustrations |
| 21:41 |
chefan |
then set up (or formalize existing) layout secifications and set up a way to put the contributions in that format |
| 21:41 |
chefan |
an obvious choice would be tex or something like that |
