And I mean all 4 letters of that. |
| 00:03 |
void |
Denyerec: what was yours? |
| 00:04 |
Denyerec |
www.sozu.co.uk |
| 00:04 |
Denyerec |
the .com would cost me $30,000 |
| 00:06 |
void |
Denyerec: that's .com... i think asylum.com cost same $30,000 |
| 00:07 |
Denyerec |
asylum is a normal word tho |
| 00:07 |
Denyerec |
you'd expect that |
| 00:07 |
Denyerec |
sozu is just random |
| 00:09 |
void |
Denyerec: are you sure? maybe that the china word? =) |
| 00:09 |
void |
*is |
| 00:09 |
Denyerec |
Hhe, nah it's not Japanese |
| 00:10 |
Denyerec |
though it does sound so |
| 00:10 |
void |
there are a lot of languages =) |
| 00:10 |
Denyerec |
Very true. |
| 00:11 |
Denyerec |
I see it is a surname in Turkish/Hebrew |
| 00:12 |
void |
Denyerec: «Ana sözü» is a name of a newspaper =) |
| 00:12 |
Denyerec |
Interestingly enough, we were going to have the name with umlauts in |
| 00:12 |
Denyerec |
just cos we thought it looked cool |
| 00:13 |
Denyerec |
I wonder what it means. |
| 00:13 |
void |
and also it's japanese word for a strange thing |
| 00:16 |
nader |
hello everybody, |
| 00:17 |
void |
Denyerec: i read a book some time ago. fiction. abour parallel worlds and so on. one world was pronounced by it's inhabitants as [fakju]. And english-speaking earthhumans had to name it something different. |
| 00:17 |
void |
hi nader |
| 00:17 |
Denyerec |
Hehehe |
| 00:18 |
Denyerec |
Hey nader |
| 00:18 |
nader |
I have installed "doc_tut_ftb1" on TYPO3-4.0, but I don't see any HTML file, for example template_ce.html , template_page.html and etc. They are called in the documentation. |
| 00:18 |
Denyerec |
my GF's Japanese dictionary is, admittedly, only a compact one. |
| 00:18 |
Denyerec |
Oh dear nader. |
| 00:18 |
Denyerec |
Oh dear oh dear. |
| 00:18 |
Denyerec |
FTB is pretty damn old. |
| 00:18 |
void |
nader: did you look at typo3conf/ext/doc_tut_ftb1 ? |
| 00:18 |
Denyerec |
I really need to hurry up and make this tutorial video. |
| 00:19 |
nader |
not yet! |
| 00:19 |
Denyerec |
void do you edit the wiki much? |
| 00:19 |
void |
Denyerec: if you mean typo3 wiki - no |
| 00:20 |
nader |
there is a directory : doc_tut_ftb1 |
| 00:20 |
void |
but i wrote some articles for russian typo3 wiki |
| 00:20 |
Denyerec |
Nah, the official one. Random said to put my movie storyboard on the wiki, but I do not know where is best. |
| 00:20 |
nader |
I see all the files there, but not on fileadmin of system! |
| 00:22 |
void |
nader: copy them to fileadmin. extension manager (and all extensions) has no access to fileadmin directory |
| 00:23 |
void |
Denyerec: what is your video about? |
| 00:23 |
Denyerec |
Setting up a basic TV site from scratch |
| 00:23 |
Denyerec |
covering some server setup basics, typo install, and mapping a TV template, then settin gup some FCE's and an editor account. |
| 00:24 |
void |
Denyerec: i think that http://wiki.typo3.org/index.php/TemplaVoila/VideoTutorial should be the good place |
| 00:24 |
void |
ah.. |
| 00:24 |
void |
if so.. |
| 00:27 |
Denyerec |
That'll do for now |
| 00:27 |
nader |
do I have to copy as "%cp typo3/ext/doc_tut_ftb1/* fileadmin"? |
| 00:27 |
Denyerec |
cheers void |
| 00:27 |
void |
Denyerec: hm.. |
| 00:27 |
void |
maybe you need |
| 00:27 |
void |
http://wiki.typo3.org/index.php/SuperModernFuturistic Template Building? |
| 00:27 |
Denyerec |
Hahaha |
| 00:27 |
Denyerec |
I was just thinking that |
| 00:27 |
Denyerec |
Seriously |
| 00:27 |
Denyerec |
"Supermodern template building" |
| 00:28 |
Denyerec |
hehe |
| 00:28 |
void |
maybe i'll find the right word? |
| 00:28 |
Denyerec |
that page will do for now, maybe when I speak to a Wiki admin they will think of a more suitable home for it. |
| 00:28 |
void |
classic < modern < futuristic < X |
| 00:30 |
void |
Denyerec: maybe, Web2 Template Building? |
| 00:31 |
Denyerec |
Template Building for the Armageddon |
| 00:31 |
void |
nader: yes... |
| 00:32 |
void |
Denyerec: Neo Template Building |
| 00:32 |
Denyerec |
This is THE ONE |
| 00:34 |
void |
Denyerec: show me the page when you'll finish, ok? |
| 00:34 |
void |
and maybe i can also escape from Matrix =) |
| 00:39 |
nader |
thank, I have done it. |
| 02:02 |
chefan |
megalomania |
| 02:03 |
chefan |
i agree to call template building supermodern when you upload a handycam snapshot and typo guesses what you want |
| 02:32 |
nature |
yo denyer |
| 02:42 |
Denyerec |
nature |
| 02:43 |
nature |
oh |
| 02:43 |
nature |
we're just about to have the chopping of at the end of sentence thang going on |
| 02:43 |
nature |
just thought you might like to know :) |
| 03:13 |
Denyerec |
Cool |
| 03:14 |
Denyerec |
which implementation are you going for ? |
| 03:19 |
nature |
that paste you had earlier |
| 03:19 |
nature |
calling php |
| 03:19 |
nature |
but we have issues |
| 03:19 |
Denyerec |
Doesn't everyone |
| 03:19 |
Denyerec |
:) |
| 03:20 |
nature |
oh man |
| 03:20 |
nature |
don't get me started |
| 03:20 |
nature |
the nice thing is |
| 03:20 |
nature |
i'm on my fourth beer |
| 03:20 |
nature |
and i'm still gettin' paid |
| 03:20 |
nature |
and this breaded albacore tuna seared is a damn fine din din after a long day |
| 03:21 |
nature |
http://cnybj.gcnpublishing.com/index.php?id=1 |
| 03:24 |
Denyerec |
Heh |
| 03:24 |
Denyerec |
I wish I was being paid per hour instead of per job |
| 03:24 |
Denyerec |
I'd be rich then :) |
| 03:25 |
nature |
lol |
| 03:25 |
nature |
in 2 minutes |
| 03:25 |
nature |
i'll have a 12 hour day in |
| 03:37 |
nature |
denyer |
| 03:37 |
nature |
http://phpfi.com/303938 |
| 03:38 |
Denyerec |
Mmhm ? |
| 03:38 |
nature |
uh huh |
| 03:39 |
nature |
http://phpfi.com/303854 |
| 03:39 |
nature |
get it? |
| 03:39 |
nature |
:) |
| 03:39 |
Denyerec |
I SEE it |
| 03:39 |
Denyerec |
but I don't have the energy to predict how it's breaking... |
| 03:39 |
Denyerec |
what's the trouble? |
| 03:40 |
nature |
uh |
| 03:40 |
nature |
there is no trouble |
| 03:40 |
Denyerec |
You sure? |
| 03:40 |
nature |
what... you think i only bug you when i got a problem?!?!? |
| 03:40 |
nature |
well |
| 03:40 |
Denyerec |
This isn't some kind of trap? |
| 03:40 |
Denyerec |
:) |
| 03:40 |
nature |
there coule be |
| 03:40 |
nature |
but right now |
| 03:40 |
nature |
all my leads end at the end of a sentence |
| 03:40 |
nature |
it better be IR |
| 03:40 |
nature |
cuz i operate under cover of carkens |
| 03:41 |
Denyerec |
EAGLE GIVE ME FAB ON THE LIGHT |
| 03:41 |
nature |
darkness too |
| 03:41 |
Denyerec |
¬_¬ |
| 03:41 |
Denyerec |
Gangsta rap made me do it. Clearly. |
| 03:41 |
nature |
beotch |
| 03:41 |
Denyerec |
Mmm. I shall have to see if pmk wants to integrate that with his cropping code |
| 03:41 |
Denyerec |
cos you're gonna have issues if there's HTML in the tt_news article |
| 03:42 |
Denyerec |
So you're cropping after 1 sentence |
| 03:43 |
nature |
no |
| 03:43 |
nature |
first end of sentence after x amount of chars passed in |
| 03:43 |
Denyerec |
I see a hardcoded 40 |
| 03:43 |
Denyerec |
but I presume you're augmenting that. |
| 03:43 |
nature |
well |
| 03:43 |
nature |
first of all |
| 03:43 |
nature |
i didn't write that code |
| 03:43 |
nature |
Al did |
| 03:44 |
nature |
he's adding 40 on |
| 03:44 |
nature |
but you could do that in the TScript instead |
| 03:44 |
Denyerec |
aye |
| 03:44 |
nature |
he just doesn't do T3 :) |
| 03:44 |
Denyerec |
pmk is modifying stdwarp itself with a hook in 4.2 |
| 03:44 |
Denyerec |
which will be interesting |
| 03:44 |
Denyerec |
so he aims to add stdwrap.htmlCrop |
| 03:44 |
Denyerec |
but until then, we have to make do with userfuncs |
| 03:45 |
nature |
well |
| 03:45 |
nature |
for now this works |
| 03:45 |
nature |
sorta |
| 03:45 |
nature |
lol |
| 03:45 |
nature |
unless |
| 03:45 |
nature |
William M. Bucklely is part of what you are looking for |
| 03:45 |
nature |
LMAO |
| 03:45 |
nature |
so it ends... William M. |
| 03:45 |
nature |
thinking that is the end of a sentence |
| 03:46 |
nature |
and unless 4 beers are blinding me |
| 03:47 |
nature |
there ain't no way around that |
| 03:47 |
nature |
haha |
| 03:57 |
Denyerec |
Mmm |
| 03:57 |
Denyerec |
dang. |
| 03:57 |
Denyerec |
That's a good one. |
| 03:57 |
Denyerec |
Well nature |
| 03:58 |
Denyerec |
The only word that can conceivably end a sentence and be one letter is I |
| 03:58 |
nature |
right |
| 03:58 |
Denyerec |
and in modern english, the instances in which "I" ends a sentence are minimal |
| 03:58 |
nature |
yeah |
| 03:58 |
nature |
so there is a work around |
| 03:58 |
Denyerec |
so you could hunt down the first period that follows a lowercase letter |
| 03:58 |
Denyerec |
beacause an abbreviation should be uppercase |
| 03:59 |
Denyerec |
C.I.A. for example |
| 03:59 |
Denyerec |
Ouch |
| 03:59 |
nature |
yup |
| 03:59 |
nature |
though |
| 03:59 |
Denyerec |
You don't want to get on the wrong side of the CIA. |
| 03:59 |
Denyerec |
You don't want to get on the wrong side of the C.I.A. |
| 03:59 |
nature |
haha |
| 03:59 |
nature |
" X." VS "X." |
| 03:59 |
Denyerec |
you cannot account for everything withou writing a neural net |
| 04:00 |
Denyerec |
so I'd go for the "period following lowercase" as a general rule |
| 04:00 |
Denyerec |
it'll catch 99% of cases |
| 04:00 |
nature |
yeah |
| 04:03 |
nature |
could i have included a perl lib instead of a php lib to do this trick? |
| 04:03 |
Denyerec |
Pass. |
| 04:03 |
nature |
is that how you call the perl lib? |
| 04:04 |
nature |
Pass.->my_killer_perl_lib(); |
| 04:04 |
nature |
Perl is, after all, Better(TM) for string manipulation |
| 04:04 |
Denyerec |
No, that was me passing on a gameshow. |
| 04:05 |
Denyerec |
Sorry :/ |
| 04:05 |
nature |
ok |
| 04:05 |
nature |
do things the hard way if you must |
| 04:05 |
Denyerec |
You could use a regexp to pull out eerhitng before <lowercase letter>. |
| 04:05 |
Denyerec |
gimme a sec |
| 04:05 |
nature |
well right |
| 04:05 |
nature |
which is why i would use perl |
| 04:05 |
nature |
since the regexp features are more robust than i've seen in php |
| 04:08 |
Denyerec |
@"\b(?<sentence>.*?\.(?:\s|$))"; |
| 04:09 |
nature |
dang that's ugly |
| 04:09 |
Denyerec |
Yeah |
| 04:09 |
Denyerec |
gimme a mo |
| 04:21 |
Denyerec |
\s*[^.!?]*(?:\.+|!+|\?+)\s* |
| 04:22 |
Denyerec |
that'll gather sentences that end in any number o ... !!! or ??? |
| 04:22 |
nature |
well |
| 04:22 |
nature |
i can't read that |
| 04:22 |
nature |
:) |
| 04:23 |
nature |
but i'll pass it along to Al to plug into his php code |
| 04:23 |
nature |
if $foobar =~ s/$foo/$bar/sgi; |
| 04:24 |
nature |
s/if//; |
| 04:24 |
nature |
i'm going blind! |
| 04:25 |
Denyerec |
preg_match_all("/\s*[^.!?]*(?:\.+|!+|\?+)\s*/", $textString, $matches); |
| 04:26 |
nature |
ah right |
| 04:26 |
nature |
the old preg_match_all thang |
| 04:26 |
nature |
i resign as a php coder |
| 04:26 |
nature |
now i just deligate |
| 04:27 |
nature |
actually... i can sorta see how that works |
| 04:27 |
nature |
i sorta remember |
| 04:27 |
nature |
but i'm on 13 hours now |
| 04:27 |
nature |
and five Sierra's |
| 04:27 |
nature |
wheeee |
| 04:31 |
Denyerec |
[A-Za-z][\w\W]*?(\.|!|\?)(\s+|$) |
| 04:31 |
Denyerec |
that one will work better |
| 04:31 |
nature |
that looks more perl-like |
| 04:35 |
Denyerec |
preg_match_all("![A-Za-z][\w\W]*?(\.|\!|\?)(\s+|$)!", $sentences, $array) |
| 04:36 |
nature |
Al is gonna hate me |
| 04:37 |
nature |
i'm going to bed |
| 04:37 |
nature |
thanks for your help |
| 04:37 |
Denyerec |
trim the results of that |
| 04:37 |
Denyerec |
but it shoudl be fine |
| 04:38 |
Denyerec |
rememeber me when you're wealthy |
| 04:38 |
Denyerec |
:) |
| 04:39 |
Denyerec |
preg_match_all("![.*]*?(\.|\!|\?)(\s+|$)!", $sentences, $array) |
| 04:40 |
Denyerec |
here we go: preg_match_all("!.*?(\.|\!|\?)(\s+|$)!", $sentences, $array) |
| 04:40 |
Denyerec |
I hate those bloody thing |
| 04:40 |
Denyerec |
s |
| 04:40 |
Denyerec |
gn nature |
| 04:40 |
Denyerec |
Im off to bed too |
| 04:40 |
nature |
lol |
| 04:40 |
Denyerec |
0342 here |
| 04:40 |
nature |
damn |
| 04:40 |
Denyerec |
that's 18 hours for me |
| 04:40 |
Denyerec |
Paid per-job... *sniff* |
| 04:41 |
nature |
doh |
| 04:41 |
Denyerec |
Don't blame me if that regex sets fire to the cat |
| 04:41 |
Denyerec |
I'm tired. |
| 04:41 |
Denyerec |
:) |
| 04:41 |
Denyerec |

oskie |
hey, i just upgraded a site from 4.0.2 to 4.1.6, and despite following the instructions the start page is all empty! |
| 12:40 |
alexwx__________ |
helio |
| 12:42 |
alexwx_ |
I would like to know if is not possible to use the same input twice... for two palettes... because in the script I use just the option. This is not possoible? Because the value saved in BE isnt stored. Thank you |
| 12:43 |
alexwx_ |
this is the first palette options "4" => Array('showitem' => 'width, height'),, and the seccond "5" => Array('showitem' => 'width, height, base_href'), |
| 12:46 |
alexwx_ |
hmm? |
| 12:48 |
timinrome |
Am I in chat? |
| 12:51 |
alexwx_ |
timinrome I see U |
| 12:56 |
timinrome |
Hi Thomas |
| 12:57 |
timinrome |
I'm new to Typo3 but have worked a bit with Joomla as an end user. |
| 12:58 |
timinrome |
At first glance it seems technical knowledge is required to make any changes or install extensions. |
| 13:00 |
timinrome |
For example, I want to add a user profiling system to capture users details during registration (many customizable fields such as location, skills, experience etc) |
| 13:02 |
timinrome |
But I can't even get off first base in terms of locating such an extension, let alone installing and configuring it. Can anyone help me with that? |
| 13:04 |
ThomasMurphy |
hi tim |
| 13:04 |
timinrome |
Hi there |
| 13:05 |
ThomasMurphy |
I don't know exactly what you are searching for, but for everything that has to do with user registration we usually use the extension sr_feuser_register |
| 13:05 |
ThomasMurphy |
it's the TYPO3 defacto standard for everything related to user registration |
| 13:05 |
ThomasMurphy |
you can add custom fields etc. |
| 13:05 |
ThomasMurphy |
callback functions and so on |
| 13:05 |
timinrome |
and is that something I have to install? It's an extension I presume? |
| 13:05 |
ThomasMurphy |
it is |
| 13:06 |
ThomasMurphy |
you have to open the extension manager and search for it in the online repository |
| 13:06 |
ThomasMurphy |
or you download it here and install it manually via the extmgm : http://typo3.org/extensions/repository/view/sr_feuser_register/2.5.8/ |
| 13:07 |
timinrome |
which is the easiest route? |
| 13:07 |
ThomasMurphy |
the route you should try is the extmgm directly |
| 13:07 |
ThomasMurphy |
you might have to adjust the settings there |
| 13:07 |
ThomasMurphy |
open it |
| 13:08 |
ThomasMurphy |
go to settings and set the checkbox in the security settings |
| 13:08 |
ThomasMurphy |
most extensions, even important ones have no security checks yet |
| 13:09 |
just2b |
anyone did something with t3lib_htmlmail already? |
| 13:09 |
ThomasMurphy |
and then you search for the ext via import extensions |
| 13:10 |
void |
just2b: me |
| 13:10 |
just2b |
void, with plain, html with images and all that stuff? |
| 13:10 |
alexwx_ |
helo just2be helo void, I have a question |
| 13:11 |
void |
just2b: not used images. sent html and plain mails. for now i'm trying to send a mail with attachment |
| 13:12 |
alexwx_ |
I would like to know if is possible to use the same input as twice... for two palettes... because in the script I use just the one option. Thank you.. i can describe my situation |
| 13:13 |
void |
alexwx_: i think the best way is to experiment. |
| 13:13 |
flipper |
hi |
| 13:14 |
void |
hi flipper |
| 13:14 |
alexwx_ |
void I did, it doesnt work for me, maybe there is some way what i dont know, thats why i am asking |
| 13:14 |
flipper |
can someone help me with dynamically changing the site title in a fe plugin, please? |
| 13:14 |
flipper |
i tried some tuts |
| 13:14 |
flipper |
but it wont work |
| 13:14 |
just2b |
void, could you send me your script? |
| 13:14 |
just2b |
flipper take a look at tt_news |
| 13:15 |
flipper |
i did |
| 13:15 |
void |
flipper: $GLOBALS['TSFE']->page['title'] = 'What i need'; |
| 13:15 |
flipper |
plugin is USER |
| 13:15 |
flipper |
but it still wont work |
| 13:15 |
void |
just2b: which one? |
| 13:15 |
flipper |
own craeted |
| 13:16 |
flipper |
would you take a look at it? |
| 13:16 |
just2b |
for t3lib_htmlmail |
| 13:16 |
timinrome |
Thomas - thanks for that. I've installed my first extension! But I didn't get the bit about security. Where do I do that? |
| 13:17 |
flipper |
just2b sorry I dont understand |
| 13:17 |
flipper |
t3lib_htmlmail? |
| 13:17 |
ThomasMurphy |
well unless you run into to many exts that you cant find via the extmgm just leave the setting like it is |
| 13:17 |
ThomasMurphy |
it should be fine, the most basic exts are checked already |
| 13:18 |
void |
just2b: http://paste2.org/p/16659 |
| 13:19 |
void |
flipper: show your code |
| 13:19 |
flipper |
jep |
| 13:19 |
just2b |
thx ok that is like mine |
| 13:19 |
timinrome |
I also notice it says "Local" against the ext and all the others are "system". Do I need to do anything? |
| 13:20 |
flipper |
line 121 ff |
| 13:20 |
void |
timinrome: typo3 extensions can be installed into 3 different places |
| 13:20 |
flipper |
http://paste2.org/p/16660 |
| 13:21 |
timinrome |
void: I didn't know I had to specify... |
| 13:22 |
void |
timinrome: usually all extensions you install are installed as "local". it means that they are placed into typo3conf/ext/. usually you don't need to change that option |
| 13:22 |
void |
timinrome: system extensions are the core of typo3 and installed into typo3/sysext |
| 13:23 |
timinrome |
OK, great. |
| 13:24 |
void |
flipper: and your line 125 doesn't work? |
| 13:24 |
flipper |
yes it doesnt work |
| 13:24 |
void |
did you clear caches? |
| 13:24 |
flipper |
yes |
| 13:24 |
flipper |
several times |
| 13:25 |
timinrome |
sr_feuser_register |
| 13:25 |
void |
flipper: http://paste2.org/p/16662 - that a piece of tt_news code. |
| 13:25 |
timinrome |
void: so where I do I configure sr_feuser_register in the backend? |
| 13:25 |
flipper |
ok |
| 13:26 |
flipper |
i'll take a look at it |
| 13:26 |
void |
flipper: that's really 2-liner. |
| 13:26 |
void |
flipper: maybe you need to set $GLOBALS['TSFE']->indexedDocTitle too |
| 13:26 |
Denyerec |
if I have ~ 50products, but don't initially want to e-tail them over Typo3, what would be the best way to store and retreive them using a variety of templates |
| 13:26 |
flipper |
jep |
| 13:26 |
flipper |
I will try |
| 13:27 |
void |
timinrome: i am not specialist on sr_feuser_register. ask DENYEREC =) |
| 13:27 |
void |
hahaha |
| 13:28 |
timinrome |
Hi Denyerec - you can do it!! |
| 13:29 |
Denyerec |
You'd be amazed... |
| 13:29 |
Denyerec |
People keep telling me I can do things, I remain unconvinced. |
| 13:29 |
Denyerec |
void - any ideas on the products question ? |
| 13:29 |
void |
Denyerec: what is "e-tail"? unknown word for me |
| 13:30 |
Denyerec |
retail online |
| 13:30 |
Denyerec |
IE do not explicitly need a cart / checkout |
| 13:31 |
m4rtijn |
hi |
| 13:31 |
timinrome |
denyerec - have you had trouble with sr_feuser_register then? |
| 13:32 |
void |
timinrome: sr_feuser_register is one of most ugly extensions... complicated. the best way is to read the documentation, i think |
| 13:33 |
void |
Denyerec: can you explain your situation a bit? i cannot understand |
| 13:35 |
chefan |
don't know why, i always read DENYEREG... must be working with regexp too much |
| 13:36 |
ThomasMurphy |
sr_feuser_register isn't so bad, i consider it one of the better ones regarding documentation and hooks/API |
| 13:36 |
Denyerec |
Hehe |
| 13:36 |
Denyerec |
void |
| 13:36 |
Denyerec |
Say I have 50 products |
| 13:36 |
Denyerec |
they have a name, description, several costs per weight, and an image. |
| 13:37 |
void |
chefan: i used to read as "deny erect" =) *hides from denyer* =) |
| 13:38 |
void |
Denyerec: ok, and what? you mean, what extension you should use? |
| 13:38 |
flipper |
void: can i debug it somehow? |
| 13:38 |
flipper |
$GLOBALS['TSFE']->page['title'] = "Test"; |
| 13:39 |
Denyerec |
Yeah void, which extension, or if I would be better writing something myself for the purpose. |
| 13:40 |
ThomasMurphy |
are you talking about shop exts? |
| 13:40 |
void |
Denyerec: i think 50 is not so much. i'd make a FCE and maybe some custom scripts if needed |
| 13:40 |
Denyerec |
Yeah ThomasMurphy |
| 13:41 |
ThomasMurphy |
have you seen the last podcast on that topic, i think they presented quite an interesting new ext |
| 13:41 |
ThomasMurphy |
http://castor.t3o.punkt.de/files/punktde_shop.m4v |
| 13:41 |
Denyerec |
KraftB's one ? |
| 13:41 |
ThomasMurphy |
no, ounk.de's one |
| 13:41 |
void |
flipper: don't know... you may write "debug($GLOBALS['TSFE']->page)", ensure that singleView() is called, ensure that is really USER, and so on |
| 13:42 |
ThomasMurphy |
*punkt.de's |
| 13:42 |
void |
ThomasMurphy: it's not released yet, right? |
| 13:42 |
void |
and seem too monstruous for me |
| 13:42 |
flipper |
ok |
| 13:43 |
ThomasMurphy |
its released: http://typo3.org/extensions/repository/view/pt_gsashop/0.10.0/ |
| 13:43 |
ThomasMurphy |
but yes, it's kinda huge |
| 13:43 |
ThomasMurphy |
but thats always the thing with shops, either they are monsters or they are crap |
| 13:44 |
void |
already released? if so, i'll test it |
| 13:44 |
ThomasMurphy |
void: watch the podcast, its a good overview |
| 13:45 |
void |
ThomasMurphy: i hardly understand fast english speech... |
| 13:45 |
chefan |
the good ones usually never hit community |
| 13:45 |
chefan |
a lightweight shop system never seems to cover all the needs |
| 13:45 |
chefan |
and generic ones get bloated |
| 13:46 |
ThomasMurphy |
yes, and as a simple one, i think tt_products is quite ok |
| 13:46 |
ThomasMurphy |
OT: has someone tried magento btw? |
| 13:46 |
void |
ThomasMurphy: i watched podcast. but for me it's most about German ERPs and so on... that is useless for me.. |
| 13:46 |
void |
ThomasMurphy: i installed magento.. |
| 13:47 |
ThomasMurphy |
hehe, no way you watched a 11min podcast in 3min :D |
| 13:47 |
ThomasMurphy |
you mean you skipped through it |
| 13:47 |
ThomasMurphy |
in the later half, they don't talk about that ERP stuff anymore |
| 13:47 |
void |
i rewinded to the screencast part of podcast |
| 13:48 |
ThomasMurphy |
ok, whatever maybe the documentation is good enough for you |
| 13:48 |
ThomasMurphy |
:) |
| 13:49 |
void |
i usually look at the code first. before reading docs |
| 13:49 |
ThomasMurphy |
rrrrh, geek |
| 13:49 |
void |
no, not really. i don't use emacs => i am not geek |
| 13:50 |
ThomasMurphy |
geeks nowadays use vim anyway |
| 13:51 |
void |
i don't use vim too (but i know how to exit vim, right). i prefer kate & eclipse |
| 13:51 |
ThomasMurphy |
emacs is for those still studying since 1988 |
| 13:51 |
Denyerec |
hehe |
| 13:51 |
ThomasMurphy |
:wq! |
| 13:51 |
ThomasMurphy |
most importatnt vi/m command |
| 13:51 |
void |
just :q! |
| 13:52 |
ThomasMurphy |
argh |
| 13:52 |
ThomasMurphy |
you are right |
| 13:52 |
void |
all vim commands are like smiles |
| 13:52 |
Denyerec |
it seems like the GSA shop needs other software to be complet e? |
| 13:52 |
ThomasMurphy |
just trashed my php.ini ;) |
| 13:52 |
Denyerec |
And ThomasMurphy, are you the Murphy that I spoke with yesterday? |
| 13:52 |
Denyerec |
Might seem like an obvious question, but you never know ;) |
| 13:52 |
ThomasMurphy |
yes |
| 13:52 |
ThomasMurphy |
philosophically speaking maybe not though |
| 13:53 |
Denyerec |
Hehe |
| 13:53 |
Denyerec |
Sober / awake? |
| 13:53 |
Denyerec |
:) |
| 13:53 |
ThomasMurphy |
completely |
| 13:53 |
Denyerec |
wish I could say the same |
| 13:53 |
Denyerec |
finished at 3am, got up at 9 |
| 13:53 |
Denyerec |
:( |
| 13:54 |
ThomasMurphy |
ha! finished at 2am got up at 10:30 |
| 13:54 |
timinrome |
So, Thomas, where do I configure sr_feuser_register in the backend? I'm still struggling with the concept.. |
| 13:54 |
ThomasMurphy |
have you read the documentation? |
| 13:54 |
void |
ThomasMurphy: btw, what is your impression about magento? |
| 13:55 |
ThomasMurphy |
just seen the website, that looks neat |
| 13:55 |
ThomasMurphy |
but I would rather go for a shop thats integrated with my CMS of choice |
| 13:55 |
void |
timinrome: 1) during installation of extension 2) at contant editor 3) at typoscript setup 4) at flexforms 5) tsconfig. |
| 13:55 |
void |
5 ways to configure extensions |
| 13:56 |
void |
ThomasMurphy: and what is your cms of choice? =) |
| 13:56 |
ThomasMurphy |
that with the 3 at the end |
| 13:56 |
ThomasMurphy |
for 5 years now |
| 13:56 |
void |
really? cool. i work with typo3 only for 2 years =) |
| 13:57 |
ThomasMurphy |
it's kinda like with wine - it gets better over the years |
| 13:57 |
void |
=) |
| 13:58 |
ThomasMurphy |
you're right |
| 13:58 |
just2b |
red or white? :D |

ThomasMurphy |
bbl |
| 14:01 |
Denyerec |
Bumbumbum |
| 14:01 |
Denyerec |
I just forgot what I was thinking. |
| 14:02 |
Denyerec |
godverdommmmmmmmmmmmmme |
| 14:02 |
Denyerec |
sr_feuser_register |
| 14:02 |
Denyerec |
let me think |
| 14:02 |
Denyerec |
timinrome - give me one moment |
| 14:03 |
Denyerec |
NOpe, the loginbox on my site is the macmade one |
| 14:03 |
Denyerec |
not sr_fe_useregister |
| 14:03 |
Denyerec |
I lied |
| 14:04 |
Denyerec |
it is sr_fe_usereg |
| 14:04 |
Denyerec |
its the login that's macmad |
| 14:04 |
Denyerec |
e |
| 14:11 |
timinrome |
yes, I read the manual (not that it says much) and have also installed new login box, library and static info tables |
| 14:15 |
chefan |
wormate has a cal problem. cal does not put the proper dates and times, i suspect some caching problem here but since the whole page is set to no cache, i am running out of ideas |
| 14:16 |
chefan |
the event date and time as to be seen in the backend always seem to be about a day late, with varying time |
| 14:16 |
chefan |
any ideas where to look? |
| 14:17 |
raz|el |
Lo everyone |
| 14:19 |
raz|el |
got a small question could anyone help me with it? |
| 14:20 |
Randomresult |
dont ask to ask, ask |
| 14:21 |
raz|el |
marks.RIGHT < styles.content.getBorder |
| 14:21 |
raz|el |
that prints the border |
| 14:21 |
raz|el |
as thereok |
| 14:21 |
raz|el |
af |
| 14:21 |
raz|el |
I use the border to display images only |
| 14:22 |
raz|el |
why the heck does it wrap these images in 3 divs and 1 dl |
| 14:22 |
raz|el |
:-F |
| 14:22 |
raz|el |
couldnt it just echo the img tag ? |
| 14:22 |
Randomresult |
well... do they disturb? |
| 14:22 |
raz|el |
jup |
| 14:22 |
Randomresult |
why? |
| 14:22 |
raz|el |
they are useless |
| 14:23 |
Randomresult |
in ur case yes |
| 14:23 |
raz|el |
and breaking my clean layout |
| 14:23 |
raz|el |
can I change that behavior via ts? |
| 14:23 |
void |
raz|el: yes, you can |
| 14:23 |
raz|el |
how? |
| 14:23 |
raz|el |
I'm very new to Typo3 :-( |
| 14:23 |
Randomresult |
void... but only global... or is it possible to make it only for content-border? |
| 14:26 |
raz|el |
how does it works? |
| 14:28 |
void |
Randomresult: there was a way... but i forgot it |
| 14:28 |
Randomresult |
razel... u use CSC? |
| 14:29 |
raz|el |
dunno what that is :) |
| 14:29 |
Randomresult |
css styled content |
| 14:30 |
raz|el |
ah yes |
| 14:30 |
Randomresult |
good... there everything is defined |
| 14:30 |
Randomresult |
look at it and overwrite the rulez |
| 14:30 |
pmk65 |
Try something like this: http://phpfi.com/304029 |
| 14:30 |
pmk65 |
Not sure if it works, as I normally use TemplaVoila. |
| 14:31 |
Randomresult |
you can find everything in the templateanalyser... but this (what pmk posted) should work too |
| 14:32 |
pmk65 |
the renderObj is not shown in TemplateAnalyzer, as it defalults to tt_content, but in order to change it for the border obj, you need to set it specificly. |
| 14:37 |
raz|el |
Is there any GOOD documentation von typo3 |
| 14:38 |
dotx |
hello |
| 14:38 |
raz|el |
everything I've found yet is very bad |
| 14:38 |
raz|el |
hi |
| 14:38 |
raz|el |
like a ts basics tutorial :) |
| 14:44 |
m4rtijn |
.. i found the docs on the typo3.org site very helpfull |
| 14:44 |
pmk65 |
TYpo3 docs is very disorganised, but a good one for starting with TS, is this one http://typo3.org/documentation/document-library/core-documentation/doc_core_tsbyex/current/ |
| 14:45 |
pmk65 |
combined with TSref. http://typo3.org/documentation/document-library/references/doc_core_tsref/current/ |
| 14:45 |
alexwx_ |
Can I include whole SysFolder of templates instead of each one single template in? |
| 14:45 |
pmk65 |
And a good place to find example code, is on typo3wizard. http://www.typo3wizard.com/en/main.html |
| 14:46 |
raz|el |
cheers for the help |
| 14:49 |
Denyerec |
hey pmk |
| 14:49 |
Denyerec |
tim |
| 14:49 |
Denyerec |
where did tim go |

Denyerec |
I just got back and was about to help him |

Denyerec |
hehe |

pmk65 |
hi Denyerec. I got my hook problem solved. It turned out that my hook worked, but some files in the locks folder prevented me from displaying the FE.. |
| 15:01 |
pmk65 |
Once I deleted te temp files in typo3temp/locks, my frontend showed up again :) |
| 15:02 |
Denyerec |
nice! |
| 15:02 |
Denyerec |
I was fumbling around yesterday with a regex with nature |
| 15:02 |
Denyerec |
preg_match_all("!.*?(\.|\!|\?)(\s+|$)!", $sentences, $array) |
| 15:02 |
Denyerec |
preg_match_all("![A-Za-z][\w\W]*?(\.|\!|\?)(\s+|$)!", $sentences, $array) |
| 15:03 |
Denyerec |
Something like those |
| 15:03 |
Denyerec |
to help with capturing sentences |
| 15:03 |
Denyerec |
re: different crop modes |
| 15:32 |
Randomresult |
Denyerec: u there? |
| 15:35 |
Denyerec |
ye |
| 15:35 |
Randomresult |
i have some quest about the wiki |
| 15:36 |
Randomresult |
why u want to put the FCE into the maintemplate |
| 15:36 |
Denyerec |
k |
| 15:36 |
Denyerec |
Well when I write the main template |
| 15:36 |
Denyerec |
I make it look like the client wants to see, say, the frontpage |
| 15:36 |
Denyerec |
so I can upload it to a server and get approval |
| 15:36 |
Denyerec |
so if the main template contains a 2 column section, for example, then it makes sense to use that markup in the FCE too |
| 15:36 |
Denyerec |
admittedly that would need some explaination |
| 15:37 |
Denyerec |
so I should perhaps show both ways of doing it |
| 15:37 |
flippe |
http://phpfi.com/304042 |
| 15:37 |
Randomresult |
well, i love to use diffrent templates ... because of the overview |
| 15:37 |
Denyerec |
but I like to present to the client a completed page mockup, which I then break into FCEs as needed |

flippe |
can anyone help me please with that piece of php? |
| 15:37 |
Denyerec |
both ways are fine, so I think I shall demonstrate both |
| 15:37 |
Randomresult |
but ok.. .do u have a made a template yet |
| 15:37 |
Randomresult |
cause i have one here... |
| 15:38 |
Randomresult |
it just an idea... so i could post it |
| 15:38 |
Randomresult |
it is very simple but i dont know if it fits ur needs |
| 15:39 |
Randomresult |
maybe we should open up a new page for all the files needed |
| 15:39 |
Denyerec |
Yeah go ahead, I haev a template here too |
| 15:40 |
Denyerec |
wouldn't be hard to combine them / take the required parts |
| 15:40 |
Randomresult |
ok... then how do i make a new page and how should it be named... [[templa-tutorial-files]] |
| 15:40 |
Denyerec |
just visit the page in the browser |
| 15:40 |
Denyerec |
and start writing |
| 15:41 |
Randomresult |
but there is no page yet... or wait... |
| 15:41 |
Randomresult |
no, i cant see a page like this... |
| 15:41 |
Randomresult |
well i'll have a try |
| 15:42 |
Denyerec |
whern you visit an unkonw page |
| 15:42 |
Denyerec |
it says "to begin editn this page click here" |
| 15:42 |
Denyerec |
and just start |
| 15:43 |
Randomresult |
normaly i did this by entering [[mypagename]] in the editor... it then creates a link to this "emtpy" page... |
| 15:46 |
tommyd |
Hi! Is there a way in 4.1.x to override "not in menu" via TS on a per-menu basis? |
| 15:46 |
tommyd |
i.e. having a menu which honors this setting and having a menu which shows all pages, regardless of this setting? |
| 15:47 |
just2b |
exludeUidFromList or something like that |
| 15:48 |
maholtz |
or includeNotInMenu=1 |

| 15:52 |
Denyerec |
hit save |
| 15:52 |
Denyerec |
then at the top |
| 15:52 |
Denyerec |
will appear a question |
| 15:52 |
Randomresult |
ok... |
| 15:53 |
Randomresult |
jupp |

Randomresult |

| 16:14 |
Randomresult |
as far as i can see there is no code tag |

yeah you need another switch and then it is all yours |
| 17:22 |

yeah... I am looking at the built in tt_news rss capability now... and seeing if I can simply extend rgmediaimages to give tt_news a little more info (via getID3, etc) for the rss feed |

denyerec what are you searching for? |
| 18:36 |
Denyerec |
Something shoppish |
| 18:36 |
ThomasMurphy |
heh |
| 18:36 |
Denyerec |
but I don't need ecommerce powers |
| 18:36 |
ThomasMurphy |
ok |
| 18:36 |
Denyerec |
just to store & display products in various template forms |
| 18:36 |
Denyerec |
EG a list, single page, "Related products" kinda thing. |
| 18:37 |
ThomasMurphy |
hmm, and tt_products is not good enough? |
| 18:37 |
ThomasMurphy |
at least it is relatively well documented |
| 18:37 |
Denyerec |
I was figuring tt_products was probably far too heavy. |
| 18:37 |
Denyerec |
I have not heard.... good things abou tit |
| 18:38 |
ThomasMurphy |
aha, then maybe have a look at kb_shop, i never used it but it looks a bit cleaner in structure |
| 18:38 |
Denyerec |
Yeah I read the manual for that and emailed Bernhard |
| 18:38 |
ThomasMurphy |
and there is also a podcast about it |
| 18:38 |
Denyerec |
wanted to put some questions to him before diving in. |

any of you guys looked at magento yet? |
| 18:41 |
Denyerec |
What's this magento thing? |
| 18:41 |
pond |
not an extension... |
| 18:41 |
Denyerec |
Heard it mentioned a couple of times |
| 18:41 |
ThomasMurphy |
its a standalone shop |
| 18:41 |
Denyerec |
Ah |
| 18:41 |
pond |
its just a new ecommerce solution |
| 18:41 |
Denyerec |
In which case no |
| 18:41 |
Denyerec |
WEhat's good about it ? |
| 18:41 |
ThomasMurphy |
a lot of people consider it THE new ecommerce solution |
| 18:41 |
pond |
excellent code base... open source |
| 18:41 |
pond |
finally something better than oscommerce |
| 18:42 |
ThomasMurphy |
but that wasn't so hard was it? ;) |
| 18:42 |
pond |
lol... I guess it was... oscommerce is still what I use... nothing compares to it in features. |
| 18:42 |
pond |
I actually use openFreeway |
| 18:43 |
ThomasMurphy |
aha, i never used oscommerce, but whereever i saw it, i knew instantly that this system is behind the site |
| 18:43 |
pond |
anyway... I think magento will be the easiest to make a good bridge extension for |
| 18:43 |
pond |
ThomasMurphy: true... |
| 18:43 |
ThomasMurphy |
bridge extension: good idea |
| 18:44 |
ThomasMurphy |
no need to always reinvent the wheel |
| 18:44 |
pond |
right |
| 18:44 |
pond |
we shall see... sorry this doesn't help you, Denyerec |
| 18:44 |
ThomasMurphy |
so denyerec, you are going to write us a bridge ext for magento, ok? ;) |
| 18:44 |
pond |
lol |
| 18:44 |
Denyerec |
hahaha |
| 18:45 |
Denyerec |
I'll start with hello world, thanks. |
| 18:45 |
ThomasMurphy |
you got some time over easter |
| 18:45 |
ThomasMurphy |
do you actually have easter holidays in UK? |
| 18:45 |
Denyerec |
Yeah |
| 18:45 |
Denyerec |
not that I will have any time |
| 18:52 |
ThomasMurphy |
sadly on the magento site they don't say anything about an interface like SOAP or similar to get products out etc. |
| 18:53 |
ThomasMurphy |
i'm so tired of these isle-solutions |
| 18:56 |
pond |
starter: http://www.magentocommerce.com/group/blog/action/viewpost/242/group/188/ |
| 18:57 |
pond |
I'll have to admit though... the shop from punkt.de looks pretty amazing... TYPO3 already has so much of the functionality seen in any shop system |
| 18:57 |
pond |
basically the functionality in the punkt.de shop is very similar to that in magento |
| 18:58 |
pond |
add to that templavoila and DAM and all the other fun stuff in TYPO3 and... wow. |
| 19:01 |
Denyerec |
The magento BE is very slick |
| 19:01 |
Denyerec |
I'm impressed |
| 19:02 |
Denyerec |
I was in the planning phase of a cart with a friend. we're not discussing whether to bother or not :/ |
| 19:02 |
maholtz |
whats about "commerce" extension, i thought it should be the new big shop system in typo3 |
| 19:02 |
pond |
it is nice... look into openFreeway as well... it also has a pretty intuitive ajax BE |
| 19:04 |
pond |
yes... the commerce ext is coming along... I have not compared the two extensions though. According to the podcast, the punkt.de ext has been in development since 2004/2005 but is not meant to compete with the commerce ext... hopefully the developers will merge the best ideas in both... and we can work on payment and shipping mudules, etc... |
| 19:05 |
Denyerec |
pond are you working on either? |
| 19:05 |
pond |
no... |
| 19:06 |
pond |
I tried to install the commerce ext for a demo last year... but it did not have enough features and I had to use oscommerce... openFreeway |
| 19:07 |
pond |
now I'll have to try the punkt.de ext... |
| 19:08 |
ThomasMurphy |
commerce has been around for quite some time now, and I remember the announcements for it several years ago ... somehow it didn't reach the community afaik |
| 19:10 |
maholtz |
i use it in an very small shop - so commerce was oversized for that - but i think, if you need an complex shop, commerce could be the right choice |
| 19:10 |
maholtz |
well - if you need an cms around it:) |
| 19:15 |
Denyerec |
What do you use maholtz? |
| 19:18 |
maholtz |
"commerce" - but only one installation |
| 19:20 |
void |
just2b: did you send attachments using htmlmail? |
| 19:42 |
brikenv |
good evening everyone. does anybody now when the release of the typo3 version 4.2 is planned? The roadmap on the project website seems to be outdated. |
| 19:45 |
void |
brikenv: i think first RC will be released next few days... max 2 weeks. |
| 19:46 |
ckoehler |
and there will probably be a few of those |
| 19:46 |
ckoehler |
so maybe late march, early april |
| 19:47 |
brikenv |
void: thank you! I'm just thinking if it is a good idea to wait with my new project a short time to save all the effort on integrating the UTF-8 support to the 4.1 version and lighten up the backend... |
| 19:48 |
Denyerec |
Hey pmk |
| 19:49 |
Denyerec |
maholtz - is commerce OK for your small shop? |
| 19:49 |
Denyerec |
I just need to list products and be able to drop little templates around the place for like, small custom lists of products, related product callouts etc |
| 19:56 |
void |
brikenv: 4.1 fully support UTF-8 (but you need to know some magick, of course =)) |
| 19:57 |
brikenv |
yes if done utf8 in 3 projects now with this version. and it works fine. but would be nice to get it with all the other new features include in the install |
| 19:58 |
brikenv |
sorry! if= i have |
| 19:59 |
void |
brikenv: you can upgrade at any time.. |
| 20:00 |
brikenv |
okay. thank you ckoehler and void! |

has anyone used the stdWrap hooks of TYPO3 v4.2 yet? |
| 22:58 |
pmk65 |
Im not sure if Im implementing the interface class correctly. |
| 22:58 |
void |
pmk65: not me... show your code and changes in core... |
| 23:01 |
pmk65 |
void: This is how I do it now (which works) http://phpfi.com/304115 |
| 23:02 |
pmk65 |
I only need the stdWrapPreProcess hook, but if I don't define all 4 hooks, I get an error. |
| 23:05 |
kraftb |
most probably you'll have to define all 4 hook methods |
| 23:05 |
kraftb |
and let all methods which shall not perform anything simply return $content again |
| 23:06 |
kraftb |
at least its the same with other interface classes ... i know this is not the best solution - but it seem to be accepted by the others |
| 23:06 |
void |
pmk65: yes, kraftb is right. it's php5 with it's beatiful interfaces... |
| 23:06 |
void |
no irony |
| 23:06 |
kraftb |
well ... i have to leave now ... bye |
| 23:07 |
kraftb |
cu tomorrow ... i hoped denyerec would be reading ... |
| 23:07 |
pmk65 |
ok. I wasn't quite sure if i did it correctly, but if you have to define all 4 hooks, then I did it correctly :) |
