I'm not an expert in the subject but unless there are advantages using it in typo3 I would maybe recommend installing it from your distro. This way at least you will receive the latest updates and there should be 64 and 32 bit packages if that makes a difference |

go for a vm - I think you can download preconfigured vm's from vmware directly. another solution is virtual box. You can find preconfigured images on mininova or piratebay |
