02:31 lolli ries, no idea with realurl native (without checking and fiddling), but it's easy with a realurl user-func
02:32 ries lolli: yeaa i thought so already... I wasn't sure on latest technologies :)
02:36 lolli yep, we're using similar user-funcs to build tt_news detail links like foo.com/4711-headline-text.html. the detail page will be displayed if you access foo.com/4711 only. it's not that complicated. i will look up the code and necessary config of this if you like
02:47 lolli ries, should i dig for the code as an related example or can i go for a nap?
02:47 ries just nap :)
02:48 lolli kk, thx ;)
08:26 niels_ hi there i got a question regarding to TYPO3.
08:26 niels_ were running ab website with a single domain. but the TYPO3 backend is running from an different domain with ssl.
08:27 niels_ when i now try the save & preview button the pages gets not rendered properly (cause typo3 adds always the ssl domain to the site instead of the right domain)
08:27 niels_ is it possible to change that?
08:43 ZaFantasy hi
08:44 ZaFantasy why I cant add attachment to an email in mailformplus ? I have in TS plugin.tx_thmailformplus_pi1.default.email_attachment = ulfile but attachment is not attached, any tip ?
08:44 ZaFantasy mailformplus version is 4.0.15
08:52 santi i am a starter.... and i can not build a functional web.... where can i get some information....i am really sunk !!!
08:56 Winston_S hey's
09:10 niels_ exit
09:49 ZaFantasy any tip for my problem ?
09:49 Prot0 what was it? :-]
09:52 ZaFantasy why I cant add attachment to an email in mailformplus ? I have in TS plugin.tx_thmailformplus_pi1.default.email_attachment = ulfile but attachment is not attached, any tip ?
09:56 scrieler a stupid nab question: where can I define a value like this for a template? plugin.tx_realty_pi1.pages = 16
09:57 scrieler and how?
09:57 scrieler simply write down in constants or setup don't work
10:17 beli moin
10:18 beli what extension to use for logical forms?
10:19 beli there are so many form extensions....i cannot choose the right one from ;)
10:51 splinter hi
10:52 splinter hi all
10:54 splinter jj
11:12 ndee anyone has typo3 running on osx? is it comparable with linux?
11:21 beli ndee: it doesnt matter
11:22 beli ndee: typo3 needs php and some basic *nix utils
11:22 raki i don't have typo3 running on OSX, but since OSX has a unix kernel.... i would say it should not be a problem
11:22 beli it has nothing todo with the os it is running
11:23 raki beli: for the basic functions you are right. but my experience with typo3 running on windows server tells me, that a *nix OS is preferable ;)
11:24 beli raki: you can run it with all your needs under ms stuff too, you just need to provide the *nix util -> cygwin
11:24 raki (specifically I ran into problems with file-access and cron-jobs)
11:25 beli raki: its possible to to that, but you are right: it is native a *nix thingie :) and osx is bsd, so it should just work like a charme
11:25 raki of course you can do it on a windows machine. but it's (imho) a pain in the a**
11:26 beli raki: as everything you do with ms ;)
11:27 raki a lot of modifications and limitations. worst thing in my opinion: rewrite module
11:28 beli uh yes, i guess that might be really ugly to fix.....static config would work
11:29 beli i asked hours before for a typo3 extension that does logical forms.....can you recommend me one...there are that many out there in the wild
11:31 kinea beli: logical forms?
11:31 beli kinea: yeah found that too, but is it ok? mailformplus has a successor, right? i forgot the name
11:32 kinea i mean: what you mean with "logical" forms?
11:48 ndee well, I just gonna install a vmware image .D
11:48 SargoDarya Why is it that a lot of extensions have render problems when I try to read the documentation?
11:55 atmos4 hi
11:57 atmos4 what right are required to lokalize tt_news entries? I've got a problem, where I can add localizations to tt_news entries as an admin, but if a regular user tries to add a localization it looses the relation to the original news entry and doesn't open the editor.
12:07 atmos4 ah ok
12:08 atmos4 needed right was access to News: Original Text
12:51 ZaFantasy Im using powermail and jm_recaptcha but when I enter the code it does not validate correctly, why ? Am I missing something ?
12:55 sorenmalling pmk65: Skype?
13:17 sorenmalling There might not be a documentation file (doc/manual.sxw) attached to the extension
13:52 Tobias_B hi everybody, I just got a problem with wec_map, it doesn't display the map... take a look here: http://www.angelikasabo.ch/index.php?id=104
13:54 Tobias_B the Google API should be correct.. the geocode admin got no latitude and no longitude = 0... can somebody help me please? =)
13:55 kraftb hello everybody!
13:56 kraftb question: if you have to implement a calendar. Which extension would you use?
13:56 kraftb it does not need any special features like export stuff, etc. only a list and month view ...
13:56 kraftb probably not even start/stop time, only a start-time would be sufficient
14:01 beli hmm
14:04 beli i would use the cal extension (calendar base)
14:05 beli --> http://www.typo3-calendar.org/
14:23 Provito Typo3 Security Bulletin Announced
14:24 Provito Vulnerable are all versions of TYPO3 4.3.x. We will release TYPO3 4.3.3 and
14:32 SargoDarya Provito: Where is the announcement?
14:37 teppi|work does someone know whether it is possible to limit the text lengths of text area fields in the t3 backend somehow ?
14:38 SargoDarya teppi|work probably tca
14:38 Provito SargoDarya, sorry had connection FAIL
14:38 Provito "Vulnerable are all versions of TYPO3 4.3.x. We will release TYPO3 4.3.3 and
14:38 teppi|work SargoDarya, this only works for normal text input fields afaik
14:39 SargoDarya I don't think it's going to work then until you implement a userfunc for tha
14:40 teppi|work jap
14:40 teppi|work i thought maybe someone stumbled already over this .. :-)
14:42 SargoDarya Provito: I don't think releasing a new version everytime a vuln. is found is a good practice. How about a small security extension which automatically runs patches for the core extensions?
14:42 marcuslind I'm running a TYPO3 website that is amazingly slow sometimes. The browser says "Waiting for ..." for about 3-5 seconds. This happends like every 10th time I visit the site, so it's not always... Anyone know what may be causing this slowdown? I've been talking to the hosting company, they keep telling me it's not their server.
14:43 SargoDarya marcuslind: do you have access to a shell?
14:43 marcuslind Do you mean SSH to the server?
14:43 SargoDarya yeah.
14:43 marcuslind No. Only FTP access and MYSQL access.
14:44 SargoDarya Ok, sucks. Different approach. Do you have custom extensions installed?
14:44 marcuslind Yes.
14:44 marcuslind I got 3 that I created by myself.
14:44 SargoDarya Caching is enabled?
14:44 Provito SargoDarya, yes a typo3 4.3.x vulnerability, very serious apparantly
14:44 marcuslind Not on all of them, some of them arent apropiate for caching.
14:45 Provito information will be released 09:00 GMT on Friday
14:45 marcuslind Some of them update the info quite often, so if I cache them they present old data.
14:45 SargoDarya Provito: Thanks for letting us know.
14:45 SargoDarya marcuslind: Is there any HUGE SQL query being run?
14:45 marcuslind No.
14:46 marcuslind I PM you the site, it's under development
14:49 nkuttler hm, what's this security bulletion about? anything i can do to secure my system before the fix?
14:49 nkuttler oh, just 4.3
14:49 teppi|work marcuslind, maybe just try to disable the uncached plugins for testing .. so you will know if they are causing the problem
14:50 marcuslind teppi|work: It's hard to test because it only happends once in a while.
14:50 marcuslind every now and then it takes like 5-6 seconds to load the site
14:50 marcuslind all other times it loads in less then 1 second
14:51 SargoDarya Just checked his site. Got no issues on our network and site loads in average of about 800ms
14:51 marcuslind I was thinking, could a bad realURL configuration or maybe wrong GD/ImageMagick installation be the problem?
14:52 teppi|work maybe try around with the mysql connection settings .. i had once an issue with too much open connections or something like that ..
14:52 teppi|work but thats just an idea
14:52 marcuslind It's weird that it only happends sometime. I actually believe the problem is at the hosting-company. But they keep denying it.
14:53 marcuslind teppi|work: Yeah maybe. But the problem occurs even if it's the first time I visit the site for the day. And I shouldnt have any SQL connections open then.
14:53 marcuslind Blah... I guess I have to live with it.
14:54 pmk65 marcuslind: does your site have many login protected pages?
14:54 teppi|work if you are on a shared host .. the machine could be busy with another page .. dunno
14:55 marcuslind pmk65: Yeah a couple.
14:56 marcuslind 5-10 login-protected pages
14:58 pmk65 Try installing nc_staticfilecache (It only works for non-protected pages, but it gives a huge improvement on standard pages.)
14:59 pmk65 TER is fucked up (as usual) so some extensions doesn't show up when you search for them, but you can access the ext here -> http://typo3.org/extensions/repository/view/nc_staticfilecache/current/
15:00 teppi|work marcuslind, i could imagine that the cache of the pages runs out from time to time .. and maybe it just lasts that long, when the pages are rerendered forr caching .. ?
15:02 marcuslind answer in 2min, meeting.
15:03 teppi|work pmk65, static file caching is really great, but loadtimes like this in development aren't normal .. i think .. there is no huge server load..
15:09 marcuslind Back from the meeting. Well pmk65 the problem occurs both on login-protected-pages and non-protected-pages. Your link does not work though, "Extension nc_staticfilecache not found!".
15:10 marcuslind teppi|work: Yes that sounds quite logical. That when the cache "runs out", the lag appears.
15:10 pmk65 marcuslind: you can download it if you use EM (It's just typo3.org that is fucked up)
15:10 marcuslind Aha
15:10 marcuslind But what does it do?
15:10 marcuslind I cant read the documentation since typo3.org is fucking up.
15:20 ZaFantasy Why Im getting <!-- CONTENT ELEMENT, uid:57/login [begin] --> <div id="c57" class="csc-default" ><!-- ... instead of real predicted content ?
15:33 pmk65 marcuslind> the manua lis inside the doc folder of the extension..
15:35 ZaFantasy any help ? :)
15:42 teppi|work marcuslind, it saves the output of your typo3 in static html pages .. there will be no php processing anymore as long as the cache time for a page runs out .. but i think it just wouldnt work because of the uncached plugins you use
15:42 teppi|work to save a page statically it must contain only cacheable contents
16:52 ries anybody tried this in a alias field doing a realurl config? CONCAT(FROM_UNIXTIME(tt_news.crdate, '%Y%m%d'),'-',tt_news.title)
16:52 just2b concat uid+ title, yes
16:52 just2b didnt try with more
17:03 ries just2b: when I do that, I get no news id given
17:03 ries When I change it to CONCAT(uid,'-',tt_news.title) it works fine...
17:03 just2b but title is rendered correclty
17:03 ries kinda odd, isn't it?
17:03 ries yeaa everything is rendered fine
17:04 ries the time is added any everything
17:04 just2b very strnage
17:04 ries it just that single news doesn't show up anymore
17:04 ries it's like decoding failing somehow...
17:08 ries just2b: I found the issue
17:08 just2b what is it?
17:08 ries the problem is within realurl field_alias varchar(30) latin1_swedish_ci
17:08 ries CONCAT(FROM_UNIXTIME(tt_news.crdate, '%Y%m%d'),'-',tt_news.title) <= More then 30 characters
17:09 just2b ah, you can set this in realurl config imo
17:12 ries yeaaa
17:12 ries this is why I hate MySQL so much, there is no warning that something goes wrong... and everybody uses non-strict mode
17:21 ries just2b: since i change the links for news articles, wouldn't typo3/ralurl not redirect the old links to the new link?
17:22 just2b no, you need to add your own redirect rules to realurl
17:30 ries just2b: according the dmitries blog I think it's in teh new version...
17:30 ries also ALTER TABLE tx_realurl_uniqalias CHANGE field_alias field_alias varchar(255) default '';
17:30 ries the new version changes it from 30 to 255
19:16 ries anybody happen to change there tt_news urls and let realurl redirect them?
19:17 just2b imo this is not conncted to tt_news, just add those urls to the redirect thingy in the BE and look how this is saved in the db
19:21 ries just2b: I have over 20K news items
19:21 ries you suggest I ad 20K redirects?
19:21 just2b 20k lines htaccess won't be fun either I guess :D
19:22 ries just2b: ... I could do a extract from the DB... all URL's are teh same, except we added a uid infront of the title
19:22 ries title link
19:23 ries Old domain.com/news/article/hamilton-sundstrand-finishes-etops-testing-on-apu-for-boeing-787-dreamliner/
19:23 ries new domain.com/news/article/24413-hamilton-sundstrand-finishes-etops-testing-on-apu-for-boeing-787-dreamliner/
19:23 just2b but I would use a hook or something like that to do the redirect in an erly place and not calling the whole typo3 just to make a redirect anyway
19:24 ries Agreed..... but I don't care about resources right now ;)
19:25 just2b question: you want a solution for the reditrect or a solution how to get to the correct 2 links?
20:09 fuchur n'evening
20:09 just2b hi
20:11 fuchur hi just2b
20:11 fuchur how are you doin?
20:12 just2b much to do but everything is working ;)
20:15 fuchur good to hear that ;) same over here
20:16 just2b ;) don't forget tomorrow to read the security announcement
20:16 just2b ;)
20:16 fuchur think this is a common case for dev workin on TYPO3 *g*
20:17 fuchur Yeah, fortunately I don't have to care for this ;)
20:17 fuchur our admins are informed
20:17 fuchur sad enough 4.3.3 comes tomorrow and extbase 1.1.0 will not be included :(
20:18 fuchur +most likely
20:18 just2b nothing to be said enough
20:19 just2b nothing to be sad
20:19 just2b trust me ^^
20:19 fuchur :-P
20:46 Denyerec So um...
20:46 Denyerec http://lists.typo3.org/pipermail/typo3-announce/2010/000150.html
20:46 Denyerec Any advance on this?
20:48 timdeluxe "advance"?
20:49 Denyerec More information
20:49 just2b tomorrow
20:49 Denyerec I am unsure if i should be responsible for upgrading client sites, or if they should be responsible for paying.
20:49 just2b it is a pre-annoucement
20:49 Denyerec As I do not have any contracts for maintenance.
20:49 just2b depends on your contract
20:50 Denyerec "Deliver site, go on my way"
20:50 just2b so it depends if you care
20:50 Denyerec In my present financial situation, that's a tough one.
20:50 just2b or if want to have the customer for a longer time
20:50 Denyerec Yes, indee.d
20:50 Denyerec Two clients will have it done quietly as they're already on 4.3.2.
20:50 Denyerec But a couple of clients are on 4.1x
20:50 just2b and it depends if patching sites is diffiicult for you or just changing it in 1 symlinked source
20:51 Denyerec Yeah it's the older sites that worry me.
20:51 Denyerec They have custom extensions, etc.
20:51 just2b READ > Vulnerable are all versions of TYPO3 4.3.x
20:51 Denyerec Yes.
20:51 Denyerec But 4.3.2 -> New release will be easy
20:51 Denyerec click click finished
20:51 Denyerec Oh
20:51 Denyerec Wait
20:51 just2b ^^
20:51 Denyerec *re reads*
20:52 Denyerec *phew*
20:52 Denyerec I interpreted that as "up to"
20:52 Denyerec That's a relif.
20:52 Denyerec *Relief.
20:52 Denyerec It's good to see you back in IRC by the way just2b, there was a period where you were nowhere to be seen. It was a sad time.
20:52 just2b it was more a mistake .. turned it on and didn't quit yet
20:53 timdeluxe hehe :D
20:54 timdeluxe Denyerec: make a "maintenance" contract directly when doing the next site
20:54 Denyerec LOL just2b, the sad time looms once more.
20:54 Denyerec timdeluxe - yes, though with the kind of cheapskates I usually end up working with, no doubt they will not pay for it.
20:55 Denyerec At least, though, it will be on paper than I am not obliged to support the site
20:55 timdeluxe cheapskates?
20:55 Denyerec Um, people unwilling to pay.
20:55 timdeluxe aaah
20:55 timdeluxe hm
20:55 Denyerec Or people only prepared to pay the absolute minimum.
20:55 timdeluxe then they are responsible, you do not need to care
20:56 timdeluxe but it is up to you to clearly inform about that
20:56 timdeluxe true sentence: you get what you pay for
20:57 just2b you can still send a mail to all of them to inform them and something like "pay and I do it or don't pay and live a risky life"
20:57 just2b mail costs you 10min and you are free of doubts
22:36 lolli42 don't stress too much with the security patch tomorrow, i expect just a small part of installations are affected due to some constraints on the exploitation. you'll be able to figure out if you're affected pretty fast
22:38 just2b same time to figure out is needed to fix ;)
22:40 lolli42 admins with reasonable software packages and recent configuration should sleep well ;)
22:41 just2b how to you assume that
22:46 lolli42 you're right
22:48 Dirk__ Hi guys!
22:50 Dirk__ I use tt_news and the subheader on my LATEST-page is only about 50 signs. I want to show the whole subheader of each news on the LATEST page, but I don't know, how to do this. I already entered TS I found several times in google to show 300 signs of the subheader, but that didn't work at all :(
22:50 Dirk__ Any idea, where this may be pre-configurated and overrides my own TS?
23:12 Denyerec Dirk, did you clear all the caches etc?
23:21 Dirk__ Yes, I did.
23:22 Dirk__ I tried to count the signs: 93 are shown.
23:23 Dirk__ I don't know, why it doesn't show the whole subheader. :(
23:23 Dirk__ I didn't configure anything after installing the tt_news.
